Who goes to a burger joint to get a hot dog? This guy. I've driven past this past a dozen or so times. So I pulled over to check out the menu. I used the link on Yelp and the menu price is severely outdated. Noticed that the had prices erased on the board instead as well. I order the 2 hot dog special, Chicago Style of course. The guy behind the counter was pleasant to deal with. As I waited the dining area was medium sized with a bull mural on the wall. The flavor was on point, but the bun was chewy. The tomatoes were diced which is a nice touch because it allows you to get some with every bite. No poppyseed bun or celery salt. The dog was good, not great. The fries were very good. I would good back to try the burger. I received my food, it looked great. read more

Do you miss the Nerf-flavored hamburgers you used to eat in your lunch room at school? If so, Burger Bull is your jam. This is a tiny, dimly lit restaurant that serves up burgers that look like they were created in a hurry from whatever was left in the fridge. I got the Texas burger and it did not taste good. The meat wasn't seasoned at all. It was cooked to a sad grey interior. There was roughly a 1/2 pound of cole slaw on the bottom. There was hardly any BBQ sauce applied. You could almost imagine the chef making this with one hand, while scrolling through Tinder with the other. My wife abandoned her burger halfway through. Just wasn't worth the calories, I guess. My 2-year-old son enjoyed the chicken nuggets, though. So I guess that's something. We were not welcomed when we entered the restaurant. When the food came out, the server just dumped it wordlessly at our table. No one seemed like they wanted to be there. And now I understand why. Steer clear. read more

Burger Bull is located on Elston Ave (walking distance from my house). They took the space formerly occupied by one of my favorite restaurants Saigon Grill. It was sad to see Saigon Grill go but life goes on. I don't know why, but lately I had a hankerin for a burger so I decided to check out Burger Bull. As the name suggests they have a number of burger options along w/Gyros, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, appetizers....I opted to go w/their house burger that starts w/a 1/3lb Patty that comes w/cheddar cheese, tomato, onions & lettuce. I added bacon (cause everything is better w/bacon & an egg). The burger itself was a little disappointing as you could tell it was preformed in a perfect circle w/perfect uniform thickness (probably frozen). It was also lacking seasoning & was bland. After adding the lettuce, tomato and onion it was a decent burger. Now you add the bacon and fried egg & that kicks it up a notch. The price was incredibly reasonable $6.99 for a burger and fries. You add the bacon $1.00 & egg $1.00 and you have a better then average burger. I've been wanting to try Burger Bull for years. It's right on Elston Ave and I love me a burger. I finally got the chance to check it it out the other day. Inside, the place is somewhat small, but it didn't feel crammed either. There were about 10 tables or so. Some seated 4, others were high tables that sat 2 or 4. You order your food at the front and they bring it out to you. Not only does Burger Bull have burgers, they also have tacos, tamales, milk shakes, pizza puffs and wraps -- it was kinda all over the place. Being at BURGER Bull, I went ahead and went with their House Bull Burger. The House Bull Burger had lettuce, tomato, onions, bull sauce, cheddar. The burger consisted of a 1/3 lb. 100% black angus patty. It came with served with fries. The burger was ok. I feel like the patty was not homemade but was premade. It reminded me of the frozen burger patties that you get at the grocery store to bring to a barbecue. I was hoping for more of a flavorful burger, but it wasn't unfortunately. I also got to try the Texas Burger, which I did like better. The burger consisted of lettuce, coleslaw, onion rings, sweet and spicy BBQ sauce, and cheddar. We also ordered the mushroom appetizer, which consisted about a dozen deep fried, heavily battered mushrooms, and a side of ranch. Overall, these were good. Service was also good. We got our burger pretty quickly and there was a drink dispenser where we got our waters. The staff was nice and friendly. But burger-wise, I've definitely have had better. Maybe try out another food item instead. We saw a few Little Leaguers come in for the milk shakes, so maybe that's worth a try. But yeah, for a place with a name that has the word "burger" in it, I was really hoping for their burgers be the star MVP on the menu. BATHROOM REVIEW - there's only one bathroom and it's coed. Inside, the bathroom was rather tiny and consisted of a toilet and a floating sink. Strangely, the faucet had no handles so you had to twist on the faucet to wash your hands. There was also no paper towels in either the roller or the dispenser. Soap dispenser on the wall was empty too, but there was a bottle of Dial soap dispenser on the faucet counter. Sit or squat? I ordered from here one time in the past, and it was so so. I thought I'd give it another try. I had it delivered and everything we had was terrible. I ordered a Gyros plate with two pitas that didn't have enough meat for even one sandwich. I'm glad it didn't though because we ended up taking a couple bites and throwing it out. The pitas and the gyros meat tasted like freezer burn. We also had two hotdogs that they claim are Vienna but there's no way they are and they were terrible also. The pickle on it was a 1 inch gherkin pickle. My son had a burrito that was also terrible and tiny. The bright side of the burrito was the two salsa's were really good. We had two pizza puffs that also had a freezer burnt taste to them and the fries were completely soggy. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money at this place. They've actually been there a while and I don't know how. read more

Came here for the first time yesterday, and it wasn't too bad, but it was interesting. It's like a mix of a sit-down restaurant and a fast food restaurant, but it kind of took a while for our food to come out. I came with 4 other people and we all got different food, so that was helpful because we have a good overall review. Walking in, the place smelled.... odd. I'm not sure if it was the cleaner they used or if it was the food, or if it was a condiment, BUT, it was a turn off right from the get-go with that. Smelled like a sour, bitter smell. As we sat in the place, I stopped smelling it though, so I am not sure if I got used to it or if it just smelled like that near the front door. I ordered a pizza puff, my boyfriend ordered Polish sausage, and his family ordered a chicken sandwich and a burger. My pizza puff was pretty good. I mean I'm not sure how you can screw up a pizza puff haha, but I have had better. I also wasn't too hungry when I came here, so maybe that affected the experience, too. It was very warm when I received it, and oddly enough, mine came to the table last. Honestly, I've had better pizza puffs at Jewel's deli, but it wasn't bad. I don't think it had that much stuffing inside. My boyfriend got a Polish sausage and he said it was good. Nobody complained about their food, but nobody said, "Wow, this is amazing!" The prices are cheap, so you get what you pay for. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are $6.99 and my pizza puff was like $3.50. The fries were okay; they were very greasy but very crunchy. I love crunchier fries. When you order your food, you walk to the counter in the back of the restaurant. Then, they bring your food to your table for you. Oddly enough, she didn't give us our soft drink cups right away, and after 5 minutes, she put our cups lined up next to the soda machine and they had ice in them already. I guess the pop machine doesn't give out ice? The pop tasted normal, so that's all that matters=) Honestly, I would never crave this place and I probably will not be back. We also ordered chicken wings, and the lady never wrote the wings down apparently. We decided not to wait another 15 minutes for those to cook. This seems to be pretty common here because the two guys who walked in after us had to go up to the counter and ask about something they were missing, too. read more

I had this huuuuuuge craving for burgers. I haven't had a good one in weeks! I wanted to go somewhere close to home and affordable. This place hit the spot. This place is located on the corner next to the bar. I was little wary on the exterior but the interior was very clean, modern, and the mural on the wall really pulled the restaurant together. I ordered the food to go. My god, when she handed me my bag I could smell the amora from the bag. My mouth watered! I am not joking neither. I ordered House Bull burger, Chicago hot dog, onion rings, and cheese sticks. House Bull Burger was pretty good. The patty was much thicker than I was expecting and very juicy. The house bull sauce was tasty as well! Chicago hot dog was pretty standard. I would say it was tasty, but not as good as other places. It wasn't as greasy as other places so I could appreciate that. Cheese sticks were rich with cheese. There were more in that bag than I thought which made me a happy camper. Onion rings were good but nothing to be blown away. I ordered the Texas burger, and while it was prepared well, I can't say it was *good*. The individual components seemed good and fresh, the burger as a whole just didn't come together for anything more. Cheddar. 1/3 lb burger. Cole slaw. Onion rings. (I did add bacon as well.) BBQ sauce. But it just didn't come together. Sorry to say. I may give another chance, but probably not as long as I remember the sadness of an ingredient burger. The fries were pretty good, though. How in the world does this place have a 4 star rating? The food from here is like cafeteria food. The fries tasted like Burger King and the quality of the chicken was terrible. The burgers are good but with a lot of burger competition in the neighborhood, they are really going to have to step it up to stand out. I'm surprised they didn't have bacon for the burgers, no curly fries either. As for the fries, they are okay, nothing special just basic fries (as opposed to fresh cut, seasoned, or curly). The shrimp dinner comes with fries, garlic bread and a very small salad. The shrimp is pretty standard breaded popcorn shrimp. This is a small restaurant with fairly limited seating, they do have a TV and were playing old school rock off of a small radio at the time I was there. read more

This place just opened and I LOVE it. The quality of their food is really high, especially for a burger joint. Really friendly and prompt service. And the restaurant itself has nice seating and is always impeccably clean. My favorite item on the menu is their grilled chicken sandwich which is served on ciabatta bread with a house sauce that is mouthwateringly delicious. Another great thing about them is that they have super yummy milkshakes; I usually get Oreo. I can't imagine anyone having anything bad to say about this place. read more

Quick updated review.. Burger Bull has changed owners. Unfortunately, the their ability to service customers accurately and quickly has declined. While the food was still pretty good, but it took forever to get our order, the items that were supposed to come with the order were missing, then finally delivered after complaint and were cold. Also, they had the order wrong. This was when place was pretty empty, I am not hopeful this place will return to its former quality. read more

Movie afternoon at sons and we decided to order- options for all. You listed several veggie burgers very nice. BUT THEY ARE NOT. It was a grilled mushroom. That is EVERYONE'S go to for us veggies and not good. I expected well a veggie burger. The sauce was good on the Hawaiian style, but a total mess. Grilled pineapple nice, but had this been an actual veggie burger I would return. Too many other options, and as Angie A said...we vegetarians like to hang out with carnivores and we all want to eat.
