We ordered the whole branzino with roast Greek potatoes, and it was every bit as good as the whole Greek-style fish we've been ordering since first coming here decades ago. The same with the horta (dandelion greens) which I recommend dressing with lemon juice, olive oil (there's a bottle on the table) and black pepper. Delicious. And there is no better taramasolata anywhere than here. Absolutely addictive. The kind they serve at other Greek places is just a pale imitation. Our waitress (I didn't catch her name, but she was from Russia) was an absolute delight. So friendly and efficient. I have one complaint. Egg-lemon soup is traditionally a dairy-free dish. But Greek Islands' version apparently contains milk or cream. I'm not 100% sure it does, but I have lactose intolerance and definitely suffered unpleasant aftereffects following dinner. I called the following morning and I was told that it does indeed contain milk or cream, but the guy I spoke to had a heavy accent so I'm still not sure. The point is, the menu should state clearly when a TRADITIONALLY DAIRY-FREE dish contains dairy for the benefit of people with lactose intolerance or -- much more seriously -- a dairy allergy. Not doing so is very, very irresponsible. That quibble aside, let me re-emphasize how impressive it is that this restaurant remains as good as it is after all these years.

If you eat one, then every other one on the plate is pretty much just that again. The problem is that it lacked that feeling of "moreism" that you need if you're going to go with a very simple flavor profile. They tasted fine, but nothing about these made me want to just keep eating them. We also had the crispy mushrooms which likewise had a very similar issue of being one-note. This was notably better than the sprouts though because they came was a very tasty tzatziki sauce that saved the dish, but the sauce shouldn't be the star of a dish like this.

I'm not sure if any of you out there ate at this place when it was Wilbur's across the street from Wilbur Wright College, but MAN has it changed for the better. Wilbur's was a bit of a dive, however the new owners have completely revamped the place. You won't even recognize it - and that's a good thing. Since the change of ownership I have eaten hear nearly every day for lunch. Tom and Jerry's is not at all your average fast food place. The new owners clearly care about presentation and cleanliness, something sorely lacking with Wilbur's. The menu, the bathrooms, the floor, the decor - all brand spanking new. They added multiple TVs for sports and news enthusiasts and even one TV that shows vintage Tom & Jerry cartoons for kids. Toss in the fact that they have two computer stations for customers and free wifi - all of this makes Tom & Jerry's ideal for grabbing a bite while you work, study or just relax and watch a game or catch up with friends or family. They also sport a lot of kitschy, retro signs on the walls (a'la Ed Debevics and Portillo's) which are fun to read while you are waiting for an order. But let's focus on what's most important for a restaurant - the food and service. First off, Tom & Jerry's menu is HUGE. This place has everything and pretty much everything I've had has been hot, fresh and delicious. If you don't believe me - come in at lunch and check out how busy they are. The place would not be booming if the food was bad. Additionally, the menu has fast food classics, healthier dishes and salads, amazing Greek meals and homemade soups. Some of my personal favorites include: the roasted half chicken, the gyros plate (huge), the Philly cheese grinder, the broasted chicken (very good!), ribs, the pork souvlaki meal, their chicken noodle soup, the patty melt, cheese and curly fries, and fried mac and cheese bites (warning - addictive). Even their pizza is pretty darn good. They also provide an assortment of condiments for your food and offer free refills on drinks - which makes their already competitive prices look even better. The service is fast, friendly and efficient - you can see the kitchen crew working while you place your order - which I like. After you order you can chill and watch TV or connect your phone or tablet to their free wifi while you wait. The cashier will call out your order number when it's ready or even bring your food out to your table if they aren't busy. I'm really curious about some of the bad reviews I've read because my experience has never been anything but positive. I do agree that parking can sometimes be tricky, but I often walk over from school. I haven't placed a delivery order, but I see the delivery guys flying in and out when I eat in, and the one order I called in to pick up was delicious and hot enough (I mean, it is pick-up...). I'm really not sure what more you could ask or hope for in a fast food restaurant that offers way more than your standard fast food restaurant in my opinion. Again - I recommend that if you are in the area you stop by and check the place out and judge it for yourself - it is certainly worth trying. read more

I've been going there before when it was Wilbur's. I must say the food, atmosphere, the employees, everyone is very nice and they go out of their way to make you feel right at home. The food is fantastic, I'm a huge Submarine Sandwich eater and their sandwiches are in my opinion, the best. All the ingredients are fresh, no bad colors to their Vegetables and the bread is fantastic. They will make you any kind of Submarine Sandwich you want, and at a time where Customer Service is all but gone, here they are not only the best, but it's one of the many reasons I go back. If you are so lucky to have Kelly take your order, you'll know why it's Customer Service at its finest. Great place to eat and maybe have a few laughs watching Tom and Jerry cartoons that play on one of the many Televisions they have. My absolute favorite neighborhood restaurant!! I stopped by Tom & Jerry's and ordered the gyros, and it was made perfectly. I added giardiniera peppers, and they gave just the right amount without overpowering the sandwich. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was hoping for. I also noticed they have a ton of daily specials, so there's plenty to choose from if you're a regular or want to try something different. I've ordered up and down the menu (save Italian Beef, wonder why?) and never been disappointed, I particularly like the Corned Beef and Reuben sandwich specials--these are very good sandwiches with fries and drink for six or seven dollars, respectively. The gentleman advised he couldn't because he's not the manager but also the managers policy is you have to come back and physically show them it's wrong. Understandable, but in this economy no one wants to go driving back and forth wasting gas. I said ok so there's nothing we can do but come back now ? he confirmed. I never leave reviews but since (according to the employee) the only way for an error to be reconciled is by showing them.... I attached the photos below to provide you with the error. Also I'm not 100% sure but I think the Italian sausage was more in price compared to the Italian beef if I'm wrong my apologies but if it is, can I at least have the difference back? That wasn't offered to us... smh.

I completely understand that restaurants get busy, especially in the morning rush. My frustration isn't that the food took time it's that I felt ignored. A simple "We'll be right with you" or "Are you picking up an order?" would have made a huge difference. Instead, they thought I was an Uber driver that's why I was being ignored. The food is still excellent, but this experience left me feeling unwelcome compared to my previous visits.

I had a gyros wrap and my partner had a pepper and egg sandwich and two sodas and when the employee rang it up originally at $48.84 he realized there was an error. The second total wasn't much better at $27 I never complain about prices but this was a little outrageous. And be prepared to negotiate parking as the area is currently under construction. Sorry not impressed

I could tell the gyros were homemade, sliced paper-thin just the way I like it. The prices are good considering the amount of food you get. I took home almost half of it. Nice people that work there; it's family-owned. You don't find too many places that make their own gyros, and they stand out among the typical hot dog and fries restaurants that usually have the frozen ones on the spit that are pretty much the same as the next one. I will definitely be back again. There is plenty of free parking and room inside the restaurant for large parties. They'll get you in and out in no time.
