    Kefta wrap
    Khalid F.

We were looking for a new place to eat after shopping at Fashion Outlets. We went to Halal Dz at noon and walked in, only to be told they wouldn't open till 12:30. After driving around a little we found Jerusalem Grill. Street parking was tight, but apparently there's parking in the back. The interior looks decent and is more spacious than the exterior suggests. Service was kind of non-existent, but maybe we caught them at an off-time. No one greeted or seated us, so we just grabbed a booth. I then got up and asked if we order upfront, but the guy told me he would come to our table shortly. There were also no napkins or cutlery at the table, so we had to ask for those after the food arrived. We ordered a kefta kabob wrap and a mixed shawarma bowl. The meat in the wrap was tasty, but the kabob quantity was small compared to the amount of bread. The shawarma bowl was also pretty good. Too much lettuce on top, but the rice and meats were good, especially after I asked for garlic sauce. Their garlic sauce tastes different than other places. The food wasn't bad, but nothing different or exceptional compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants. The bill came to $26 with tip, which is not bad at all. Decent food, good value, and relatively nice interior. Just need to work on service.

6 years since my last review. This place does not disappoint. Stopped by this evening for a gyro bowl and still very clean place , friendly staff, and delicious food.

I rarely get delivery and I mean like I haven't had any delivery in the past 2-3 years maybe only some pizza when it's snowing bad. But other than that I always pick up my food. This time we decided to get delivery. They didn't answer their phone at first. We then messaged them on Facebook, and they apologized and asked us to call again. They did finally answer. Their quoted delivery time was spot on. My wife ordered their chicken shawarma, and I opted for their beef shawarma with a small side of hummus. The beef was very flavorful and the rice was perfectly cooked. You definitely get a lot of food and it is very filling. The plate came with grilled onions, tomatoes and even a grilled jalapeño. I have never seen that before but it added some heat. The hummus was tasty and very inexpensive for the amount of hummus they give you. They also had some salsas. I did not care for these. One tasted odd, and the other was like Louisiana sauce or Tabasco. Whatever it was, it definitely doesn't belong on Mediterranean food. I wouldn't mind returning.

After multiple Google searches for a chicken gyro, we ended up a Jerusalem grill. They didn't have such thing on their menu, " it doesn't hurt to ask we thought" We asked for a chicken gyro? Or chicken on pita? The cashier seemed confused when the cook approached us and simply said " I got you" OMGGGGG he wasn't lying this sandwich? Wrap? Pita pouch? Whatever you want to call was DELICIOUS!! So flavorful he did not disappoint at ALL. Shoutout to the cook working on 12/22 at 7:30ish! Please put this on your menu it's MOUTH watering. I'm so full yet already planning on my return for that specific dish. Also - excellent staff! Very friendly

I was looking for a place to eat this afternoon after getting my haircut. I found Jerusalem Grill on Narraganset just south of Belmont Ave. I ordered the beef & lamb shawarma w/onions, pickles & a few slices If tomatoes. All of this came on a bed of hummus. The food was kind of middle of the road. It was tasty, but nothing exceptional. The lamb & Beef was over cooked and very salty as was the hummus. The food was a bit pricy for lunch ($11.99 + tax $13 & change) Nice restaurant, very friendly people, decent food but nothing exceptional (too salty).

Awesome place. It has parking in back. Food is great. Customer service is top. Very clean. Treatment given is VIP. You gotta try their Kenafeh (grilled cheese dessert)

The place is beautiful with a lively terrace on nice days but also a very open and bright interior with modern decor. We were seated right away at a table off to the side of the bar area. We must have waited like 15-20 minutes before anyone even realized that we were there. It seemed as though none of the servers running around serving other tables around us had our table to service. Eventually we caught the attention of who I can only imagine was a manager or supervisor who finally came over to take our orders. We ordered the Smokey garlic hummus which fresh pita bread and this was very good. We also ordered the crispy potatoes and the Brussel sprouts as a side. These were also nice and crispy and the brussel sprouts had a tasty kick with the harissa honey. For our main we had the chicken kebab which was perfectly cooked and tender, braised short rib (not as good), and the shawarma skirt steak frite. We quite enjoyed our meal and everything very fast which more than made up for the initial delay in service. For dessert we decided to share a frozen Greek yogurt with Olive Oil and sea salt. This had an interesting taste with a tanginess at the end. I'm not sure I would order this again but you could tell the Greek yogurt was of very good quality. All in all we enjoyed our meal at Aba and would definitely come back if in town.

Made last minute reservations for brunch next day after the infamous architecture tour. It was quiet as we've put in an early morning. All the more better to savor all intricate dishes from start to finish. Like the name, The Purple Pig, their specialty is pork dishes so majority of our orders were this. Daily special of the bone marrow bacon jam toast - glazed, slippery off the bone, savory and sweet. Always love a good bone marrow dish to get the sweetness off it. This was so good that there were bits of the marrow and jam left stuck to the bone, I took a piece of the toast and scooped the bone dry. Nothing left for anyone to attack this. Non pork dishes were the Mushroom 3 ways and Spanish octopus. Mushroom dish was savory with all the coated sauces elevating this. Spanish octopus was kicked lightly and easily can bite in to enjoy the tender and charred portions. But the award went to my main course - the braised pork shoulder with saffron, apricots and Swiss chard. Aside from the rippable pork meat when dining on it, the sauces fused together on this dish elevated it and had everyone coming back for more. I needed an official Chicago culinary experience and found it at The Purple Pig without a doubt.

This place is a local gem: simple, quick, casual, but packed with flavor. Though unassuming on the outside, this place serves yummy Lebanese food at high ROI. Of the two shawarma plates I tried, I fancy the beef, but I tend to lean beef. The chicken was clean and flavorful. The hummus is creamy and delicious and the plates are served with a balsamic fresh salad on the side. The guys behind the counter are working hard and if you're picking food up to-go, you're likely in and out of line with hot fresh food in under 10 minutes. We ordered arayes with meat, meat toshka, mixed grill with baba ghanouj, fillet of basa fried, and mint lemonade. They also offer you fresh Arabic coffee before you leave. This is about a 4.5-5. -arayes with meat 4 - this was not bad. It's like a tamer version of the meat toshka. -meat toshka 5 - I prefer this over the arayes because they add the Syrian cheese. It goes well with the pita bread. The meats were cooked medium well unless you want something. I think next time I'll ask for the shish kababs to be cooked medium rare or medium for a more juicy taste. The chicken tawook and kufta were both succulent. -fillet of basa fried 5 - the two pieces of basa fillet were astronomical. It also comes with two different kinds of rice. The fish was flaky, moist, and seasoned. Make sure you add the lemon and eat it with the sauce. -mint lemonade 5 - this was very refreshing after eating a heavy meal.
