I work close to this place so decided to stop by and grab the Chicken Shawarma Entree w/ Hummus and it was really good! Customer service is great here and your food is ready In 15 minutes Definitely recommend trying this place if you enjoy middle eastern food!

We were looking for a new place to eat after shopping at Fashion Outlets. We went to Halal Dz at noon and walked in, only to be told they wouldn't open till 12:30. After driving around a little we found Jerusalem Grill. Street parking was tight, but apparently there's parking in the back. The interior looks decent and is more spacious than the exterior suggests. Service was kind of non-existent, but maybe we caught them at an off-time. No one greeted or seated us, so we just grabbed a booth. I then got up and asked if we order upfront, but the guy told me he would come to our table shortly. There were also no napkins or cutlery at the table, so we had to ask for those after the food arrived. We ordered a kefta kabob wrap and a mixed shawarma bowl. The meat in the wrap was tasty, but the kabob quantity was small compared to the amount of bread. The shawarma bowl was also pretty good. Too much lettuce on top, but the rice and meats were good, especially after I asked for garlic sauce. Their garlic sauce tastes different than other places. The food wasn't bad, but nothing different or exceptional compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants. The bill came to $26 with tip, which is not bad at all. Decent food, good value, and relatively nice interior. Just need to work on service.

6 years since my last review. This place does not disappoint. Stopped by this evening for a gyro bowl and still very clean place , friendly staff, and delicious food.

I rarely get delivery and I mean like I haven't had any delivery in the past 2-3 years maybe only some pizza when it's snowing bad. But other than that I always pick up my food. This time we decided to get delivery. They didn't answer their phone at first. We then messaged them on Facebook, and they apologized and asked us to call again. They did finally answer. Their quoted delivery time was spot on. My wife ordered their chicken shawarma, and I opted for their beef shawarma with a small side of hummus. The beef was very flavorful and the rice was perfectly cooked. You definitely get a lot of food and it is very filling. The plate came with grilled onions, tomatoes and even a grilled jalapeño. I have never seen that before but it added some heat. The hummus was tasty and very inexpensive for the amount of hummus they give you. They also had some salsas. I did not care for these. One tasted odd, and the other was like Louisiana sauce or Tabasco. Whatever it was, it definitely doesn't belong on Mediterranean food. I wouldn't mind returning.

After multiple Google searches for a chicken gyro, we ended up a Jerusalem grill. They didn't have such thing on their menu, " it doesn't hurt to ask we thought" We asked for a chicken gyro? Or chicken on pita? The cashier seemed confused when the cook approached us and simply said " I got you" OMGGGGG he wasn't lying this sandwich? Wrap? Pita pouch? Whatever you want to call was DELICIOUS!! So flavorful he did not disappoint at ALL. Shoutout to the cook working on 12/22 at 7:30ish! Please put this on your menu it's MOUTH watering. I'm so full yet already planning on my return for that specific dish. Also - excellent staff! Very friendly

I was looking for a place to eat this afternoon after getting my haircut. I found Jerusalem Grill on Narraganset just south of Belmont Ave. I ordered the beef & lamb shawarma w/onions, pickles & a few slices If tomatoes. All of this came on a bed of hummus. The food was kind of middle of the road. It was tasty, but nothing exceptional. The lamb & Beef was over cooked and very salty as was the hummus. The food was a bit pricy for lunch ($11.99 + tax $13 & change) Nice restaurant, very friendly people, decent food but nothing exceptional (too salty).

This year I was so excited to bring my family and Ema was the only restaurant in Chicago I couldn't wait for them to try. I booked it as our final meal in Chicago and lay awake at 4am being so disappointed in my choice. Our server's greeting was monotone and emotionless, which I realize now, would be foreshadowing the meal to come. Ordered the following 1) Smoky eggplant- arrived appearing as an unappetizing curdled purple grey mush. This was the worst tasting baba ghanouj I have ever eaten. It was acidic and had the texture of cottage cheese. The only redeeming thing about this appetizer was the warm naan. 2) house made stratciatella with side of green falafels- The stratciatella was bland and stringy. I would not order this dish expecting the creamy interior of typical burrata. However, if you like string cheese mixed with heavy cream- you may enjoy this dish. The tomatoes and basil were good. 3) chicken kefta- kefta was bland, rice even blander . 4) short rib with polenta- bland and the meat and polenta had the same texture, which seems impossible but somehow the plating was over complicated by the addition of mushy dates and grapes. 5) buttered noodles- my 8 year old ordered this. It was decent with a good amount of Parmesan and cooked perfectly al dente. By the end of the meal, I was so shocked by how terrible the food was I didn't even want to order the sticky date cake that was my main purpose for returning to this restaurant. Ema, what happened to you?!

I arrived 25 minutes later and they hadn't even made my order. From there, 3 different people told me it'll be another 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and 15 minutes. I ended up waiting 20 minutes and during that whole time there was no apology. One of the workers handed me a tea and later I saw they included dessert in the bag. It was a nice gesture but I was frustrated that it wasn't acknowledged by the staff at all and part of my order was still missing. I paid $2.25 for a Yogurt & Cucumber Sauce which I never received. The Caspian Mix Grill with Albaloo Polo was very good. The filet mignon & chicken breast were both juicy and well-seasoned. The Albaloo Polo is plain basmati rice mixed with saffron, caramelized onion and sauteed sweet & sour cherries. I liked the rice but it felt like they just threw the cherries on top rather than incorporate it into the rice. It was very filling, enough to share with 2 people, and good value. The Bamieh & Balava were also fresh, sweet, and a nice bite to end on. Ultimately, I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 2/5, hence my 3/5 rating.

My hostess asked if I wanted to have my jacket held at coat check, which I was much obliged to maximize my space at the intimate bar. Nothing really went together and it was warm, which didn't make sense and made it worse. The steak was cooked how I asked, but the sauce was extremely oily and had this strange burnt flavor which likely was from the onions? The onions were extremely burnt, nothing like a typical caramelized delish onion. The chicken had the same issue, everything had that same burnt tasting oil and the chilies sitting in it just made it more intense. It was honestly just edible and nothing I would come back for or recommend. I love middle eastern food and know that even with a midwestern there are some considerations to take with the flavor profile but the burnt onions, burnt spicy oil in the chicken, and a warm salad are all indications for poor execution. As for the actual ambiance and experience it was my birthday and there was no acknowledgment at all not even someone to check in on whether the food was okay. I did not want to order a dessert after the salad, steak, and shawarma all missing the mark. The seating was very uncomfortable. It is cramped and communal and at this price point I expected a much better experience. Will admit I should have looked into the actual dining set up before booking a late night reservation but even still there are so many better places in Chicago where you can get better food and actually feel comfortable. Overall it just was not worth it. I would not return or recommend this spot.
