And other CAPS in the Philadelphia area. The BOBBY doesn't have the amount of turkey and cranberry sauce and stuffing that I am used to. This was my first Capriotti visit and this is one of their most popular sandwiches, even voted by someone as America's greatest sandwich. It was a dense and very good sandwich, like a Thanksgiving leftover meal. In fact, it was created as a Thanksgiving leftover meal by Aunt Bobbie, and featured in the first Capriotti restaurant in Wilmington, DE. This looks like a solid sandwich shop with subs, cheesesteaks, and salads. They have about a half dozen tables lined up inside, and more shared seating outside. The staff was helpful as we worked on what we should order. I liked the place, bright and clean, music, and one TV. They offer fries, including loaded fries called CAPastrami Fries. They sounded so good and I regret my decision not to try them, a good reason for a return visit.

With so many topping choices it was easier to just touch screen pictures than asking a staff member to list what my choices are and for him to listen to what I wanted. That means my only interaction with people working there was thanking the guy who called my number and handed me my bag of food. That went well. As for the food, I got their Bacon Cheeseburger and a milkshake with a coffee mix-in. The burger was large, a little messy, and delicious, two hands needed. I didn't like the milkshake. I had seen on their website Five Guys had decided to offer the coffee mix-in permanently and assumed it was popular and that it would be similar to coffee ice cream. Nope, it wasn't. It was not sweet, it tasted like just adding strong drip coffee to the vanilla ice cream base. I'm sure I would have liked another of their dozen mix-ins options more. Five Guys has free peanuts. I didn't indulge but I saw other customers taking advantage of this perk. This Five Guys has plenty of indoor seating and also some tables outside. The place felt clean, what with all the red & white shiny walls. A very distinctive look, complete with bags of potatoes stored in the dining area.

Their "veggie" sandwich may be super cheap, but that because it's just peppers and onions. Definitely not worth it. So...we come for the fries as a quick treat when we're working in the area. And I have to say, WHY IN THE WORLD DO YOU DUMP ALL THE FRIES ON TOP OF YOUR SANDWICHES!! We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich...somewhere under here. And this isn't the first time they've done this. I don't quite understand not putting them in any container so the bag gets grease-soaked, and any sandwiches are hidden under them. If it's a marketing deal, I don't think it's helpful. They did give me the equivalent of a whole container of napkins...

I'd understand if we arrived at closing time, but they close at 10pm. The kiosk to order was malfunctioning, and the staff wasn't trained to troubleshoot and help - not their fault, but I asked them to tell me what's in my order before I pay, but their only solution? They told me to pay. I did, then the receipt printer failed, so they had to check the ticket sent to the kitchen, which I had to return so they could make the order! The french fries were burned! The BBQ boneless chicken is good and the garlic bread is fantastic. I sometimes find the BBQ sauce spicy which sucks because it is like the lowest on the spiciness meter in the restaurant.
