Hubby adored Jersey Shore's Favorite. There was a generous serving of meat. I liked The Veggie. I am not a giant fan of peppers so I pulled them out. There was just enough Mayo to be delightful. Several friends liked the Tuna Fish. The orders are nicely packaged and everything was fresh. The meat lovers got several generous slices of meat and not little pieces, like Subway does. Not off to the great start as oxon hill... no question of why I need gluten free bread... no changing gloves between the prep...overall the start is a lil shaky compared to my other experiences and that saddens me. Slight correction... my kid loudly said no gloves so that got a touch better as the order went on...but I appreciate seeing the teamwork and the young lady mastering the grill (reminds me of my Jerry's sub days), but this experience didn't give me the joy I usually get from Jersey Mike's... especially when I finally unwrapped my sub and home and found it more like a Sloppy Joe than a Jersey Mike... The burnt bacon is really getting out of hand and is going to make people sick. I received an Uber Eats order for a sandwich with a bunch of black stuff in it (see photo). Turns out it was burnt and charred bacon bits, crumbled (see photo) in the sandwich. First of all: 1. Best chain subs of any of the franchise sandwich shops. They are in a league of their own. The meats just taste better than any other place I've been to. And their rosemary parm bread is on another level. Every single Jersey Mikes, the people who take your order are super friendly and care about making your sub right! I've been to several in No. Va: Reston, both the Falls Church ones, and the one in Clarendon. Their rewards program is pretty generous and some franchises even have days when you get double points. Maybe I should have read the reviews prior to coming! First and LAST time at the location. No one greeted me as I walked in, they were looking at me like a deer in headlights! The lady with the dreadlocks was laying her head down, looking at me, waiting for me to order (she still never said anything). While making my sandwich, she acted as if it were a chore! Coming here felt like I was a customer in the middle of a game of Diner Dash. I could feel my patience and happiness level going from green to yellow to the dangerous red bar as the line barely moved. However, in the Diner Dash game, when customers get frustrated, it isn't usually the speed or service of the worker's in the game, but rather the player/person directing them around, the person in control who set up the system. Let me clarify, the people who worked there were friendly and fast, however, the system itself seemed inefficient. I wish there was a better method to deal with mobile and larger orders. Subway and Quizmos, I've never had to wait that long. But mind that aside, the sandwich was pretty good. I got a philly cheese steak which was a solid 4/5. Jersey Mike's has become one of our go to places. My wife enjoys deli sandwiches very much and the quality here is consistently high. This shop produces such great sandwiches compared to other places around town, that literally the day she gave birth to our child, and felt like she could have deli meat again, I was sent on a mission from the other side of the City to get her a sub and bring it back. We have had cold cuts, cheesesteaks, and chicken cheesesteaks--everything was excellent. The staff here is standout too. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic to be helpful, and seems happy to be there. They seem like they have fun working together and they do a good job. I had a TERRIBLE day today and decided to try to make it better by looking for a decent COLD sub shop. Which I haven't been able to find since moving to DC (Seriously...What's with you people and hot subs?! ) a friend of mind suggested Jersey Mikes since that was the place she went to in California when she was missing our favorite NJ staple. The guy who made my sandwich must've noticed the dark cloud with isolated rain floating over my head the entire time I ordered because while he was loading up my GIANT sub he asked me how my day was. I didn't hesitate to tell him just how crappy my day has been and he sympathized and tried to cheer me up. We talked for the rest of the transaction and whilst in conversation he ended up making my sandwich with half wheat/half white bread! He started deconstructing the sandwich but I told him it was ok. He gave me free cookies for being such a good sport about it! (Great service recovery) As if my experience wasn't good enough I can officially say from a born and bread JERSEY GIRL.....this was the BEST sub I've had since moving to the DMV area. I will definitely be back. Thanks for brightening my day, filling my tummy, making me feel like I was back at "the shore" and giving me more than enough left over to take for lunch tomorrow! "Mike's way" is pretty much lettuce onion tomatoes vinaigrette salt and pepper. They loaded my turkey sub up with everything and it was pretty dense. 7 something gets you a 'regular' size, and everything tasted fresh. Service was good and fast, no real line. Relatively healthy alternative, although they only have one type of bread (white bread). Options are very basic, but sometimes simple is better. Next time I come I might try a hot sub. I was introduced to Jersey Mike's early in the pandemic, but happened upon the Race Track Road location in Bowie this past spring. I enjoy their menu because the food is always fresh and delicious and it never takes long to get your completed order. What struck me most about my visit there was that a fantastically, cohesive staff of young men provided this wonderful service. In this day and age, it is rare to witness a scene of young men working together like a team should and with EXCELLENCE!! They would do a number of other eateries a great service by sharing their secret to successful service. They greet you and prepare your order to your specification. One things about this area, specifically Rhode Island Row, customer service almost always sucks. Like offensively bad. Like owner of the chain being disrespectful because you're a woman bad (see Carolina Kitchen review). And Jersey Mikes is none of those things. Super nice staff - in fact the owner works behind the counter making subs. And the food is good. The ingredients are fresh. They're not always out of something (a la their neighbor Chipotle) and they're clean.
