Generally good. Two subs were fine but the third was very soggy on the bottom line it had been laid in something wet.

He made sure we tried some of his homemade tomato basil soup which was the best we have ever had. The restaurant was packed with regulars, and we were made to feel like we were one of them. First time my wife and daughter stopped before our daughter headed overseas for two years in the Peace Corps. Scotty''s is super close and convenient to the airport. Scotty learned of the imminent departure and came with cookies and treats for the long flight! And now this morning it was another airport drop off. It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe. You rarely see a 4.9 rating and even more rarely that high based on so many reviews. But I understand why - like in so many things in life, it is about the people. And the joy they bring to every conversation. And I will just add, in this age when some would divide us, this dining room is filled with all manner of folks, reveling together over food in fellowship.

My usual order is the Reuben on rye with corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, and Russian dressing. It's always my go-to and never disappoints. I also recently tried the State & Main on rye with corned beef, pastrami, and coleslaw, which was another solid choice. I've heard great things about the Paesano on an Italian sub bun with ham, hot capicola, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and Italian dressing (can be served hot or cold). A friend's favorite is the Figaboudit on grilled ciabatta with prosciutto, fig jam, goat cheese, and arugula. If you go, don't skip the homemade chips with the house-made sour cream and onion dip--it's easily my favorite thing on the menu and worth ordering as a side or appetizer.

Parking was super easy, with free parking lots around the area. I honestly expected this to be a small deli, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a full restaurant as you walk further inside. It was packed for a Saturday lunch, which was a good sign! Since it was just the two of us, we sat at a communal high-top. Service was a little slow to start. We waited around 10 minutes before a server came over, but once we got going, things were fine. We started with the cheese curds, and these were delicious! They tasted fresh and homemade and were definitely one of our favorites. For sandwiches, I ordered the Italian beef and my partner got a turkey sandwich with some type of pesto on it. Both sandwiches were great! The Italian beef was more similar to a French dip, but it was still really tasty. My partner loved his turkey sandwich as well. The chips, however, were disappointing. They were extremely bland and definitely needed some salt or seasoning. We also tried the French onion dip, which was fine, but the chips really took away from it. The beer cheese was a total no for us. It was VERY liquidy and grainy, almost more like beer cheese soup than a dip. We were especially disappointed because it was an upcharge. Overall, we really enjoyed the sandwiches and cheese curds, and I would definitely come back to try another sandwich. I just wish the chips had more flavor and the beer cheese was thicker and more dip-like!

We just tell them, "Make us something amazing," and they knock it out of the park every single time. Fresh ingredients, great combinations, generous portions, and clearly know how to build a seriously good sandwich. The service made this experience memorable. The gentleman working asked me if it was my first time. He made some recommendations. They were out of corned beef for the #3 The Eiffel Tower so he substituted bacon for me instead. I liked that the buns are smooshed flat, the meat and cheese heated and melted, and then the additional toppings diced up into smaller pieces. I had about a 20 minute drive that could have made the difference, but once I started eating the sandwich it was good but aa bit chewy. It might have been less chewy if I would have ate it right away. I also ordered the specialty croissant. The staff person asked me if I was okay with the price, it was $8. I appreciated he let me know the price and made sure I still wanted it as it was a bit pricey. The croissant was amazing! This was also a food that was better ate day of. I had it the next morning for breakfast and although it was delicious you could tell it was getting stale already. It was beautifully made. Frenchi's was good, just eat it right away for optimal freshness!
