I enjoy the preppy students doing homework on their computers to us old folks enjoying a soup and salad while people watching. They bring in new seasonal items to break up the monotony of the same old same old. And I like their app. I order ahead and go pick it up. Easy peasy. The black bean soup is my current go to and their salads are always fresh and delicious. They were out of mixed greens once but I think they let me substitute with arugula. It was still good. I don't eat much bread due to the carbs but I buy their bagels on Tuesday and get their special price for a dozen and freeze all of them but two after I get home because it takes a while for my husband to eat them. They defrost well every time and he says they're his favorite. We don't buy bagels from anywhere else. The drink club is fun too. I recently had to stop after two years of drinking their hibiscus tea only because I have a crappy stomach but those servers were always pleasant and prompt when I pulled up in the rapid line for another cup full. And I admit I enjoyed seeing if I could buy the monthly limit. Lol Never made it because it was a generous amount.

We did purchase a couple of sweet pastries, but since I expected a product prepared elsewhere the quality was acceptable. We could have gotten the same or fresher at the nearby Kroger. But we might as well have bought bagels and pastries at COSTCO last week and brought them home to freeze. As a retired operations manager for a department store with a snack bar, I know that soft drink spills happen. I also have taught team members how to clean spills effectively. I found the seating area floor to be "sticky" because of poor mopping practices. I would be astonished if the floor in the food preparation area wasn't equally "sticky" or grimy. I would also be astonished if the same mop and mop water that was used to clean restrooms wasn't used throughout the restaurant. Clean rinsed mops, fresh hot water, detergent and sanitizer (bleach) repeated at least twice followed with a clean water rinse is needed to get restaurant floors clean. This franchise can do better.

With my most recent visit on 5/7/2026, the man with the long hair and head wrap taking orders and slicing meat, was clearly agitated. He was observed throwing the meats and cheeses into the metal slicer with unnecessary force. I was tempted to leave when I witnessed this with the two parties ahead of me, however, I had been waiting a few minutes and was excited for lunch. When it was my time to order he asked me 3 times what I wanted and replied "of course you do" when I requested that my meat and cheese be left on the side. While retrieving the container for my salad the whole stack of containers fell on the floor which agitated him even more. I was scared to ask for a clean container (one that had not been on the floor) so I went along for the ride. He proceeded to place the ham, turkey, and cheese into the metal slicer, slamming the metal down each time (which I have never witnessed in my many trips to Jersey Mike's). All of his behavior elicited awkward glances between other customers and employees working alongside him. It was evident that this employee was not enthused to be working and his behavior rose to the level of inappropriateness that the young women working the cash register felt the need to apologize to me when I arrived at the register to pay. We all have bad days at work but when working in a customer-facing role, this behavior is not only off-putting but was aggressive and unacceptable. In a normal situation I would have asked to speak to the manager; however, the man I assume is in a managerial position has also been less than friendly and professional in my experience on one other occasion.

It's an older store, the aisles are relatively close together or packed with lots of other things. Still not a problem for a couple people to get down through them at one time, but just not as wide open as some of the bigger stores. Their selection is pretty good, though today it seemed as if they had a lot of empty shelves, could be a restock day, but I was surprised at how empty some of the shelves were. Prices are relatively reasonable. It is a chain so you would expect that. I did get some help from a guy when I was checking out, and he was very nice and quick about it. Didn't make me wait. Didn't make any big deal about it I appreciated that. A decent store if you need to come get your groceries. It's not like a Walmart or a Meijer, which are much busier, and certainly larger. This one feels more like a local grocery store. They had flowers, alcohol, fresh fruits, and vegetables, cards, school supplies, and also an area of the local high schools spirit wear.
