Having grown up on Steak and Shake, I really don't care for steakburgers; way too thin for me. So thin that they're always dry and teetering on being charred if cooked for even a few seconds too long. However, while passing through on a business trip, I decided to give Culver's a chance, and boy was I glad I did. First off, this isn't really a steakburger like I know them. Yes, it's a thin patty, but not nearly as thin as a Steak and Shake burger. I ordered a triple and that thing was pretty thick. I could have easily gotten away with a double and been perfectly happy. As a precautionary measure I also ordered an onion ring and cheese curds in case the burger itself wasn't enough to satiate me. The onion rings were real onion rings and were delicious. Cheese curds were pretty awesome too. The real hero, as it should have been, was the ButterBurger. Juicy, fresh, and packed with delicious flavor. Because I'd eaten both side, I could only eat about half the burger in that one sitting, but it was incredible! I get it now. The Culver's ButterBurger is worth all the bragging I've ever heard about it.

Which was nice (except for the bees). The brisket smash was superb! Definitely delicious, and satisfied my hungry appetite. Combined with a side of fried okra (!) and coleslaw, you've got yourself a yummy meal. The ribs were not as great and my SO probably won't be getting that again. Two months ago they charged my debit card 5 Times in less than a minute. Tonight I scanned two different debit card a total 5 times none of which were accepted. Both cards are very well funded we left and went to another restaurant in Greenfield and my card was accepted without a problem or any questions. I wanted to try their pasta so I ordered a side of fettuccine in herbed butter. It too was lovely. The venue is in the basement of a former Carnegie Library. It's a little dark and has a speakeasy feel. We turned the lamp on our table to a brighter setting to see a bit better. Our server was Chris. He is very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about the food, business and building. The GM, Jeremy, gave us a tour of the upstairs portion of the building where they hold specialty events. Otherwise you can order anything off the menu. Their menu includes steaks, etc and is a little pricey . I had the breaded tenderloin. It was not your usual. It looked as though it had been breaded in some kind of cheese mixture. It was pan friend and the underside of my tenderloin looked like a carbon copy. It was burnt. I ate about1/4 of it. I did not care for the breading. My friends had the tenderloin and a French dip sandwich. She took the French dip home for her dog as it was too tough to eat. We had a great wait staff that checked on us and gave us time to catch up with each other Since this is an old library, there is no elevator. It is necessary to walk down 20ish steps to the main dining room. No matter what shape you are in, those steps are a hazard Would I go back again? Not for lunch, maybe dinner or pizza.
