Well, I said I'd never return, but I'm not driving 5 times as far to another JM with even lower reviews. The subs are still tasty, but it seems like they're putting less meat on the sandwiches. I ordered the Jersey Shore Favorite #2, giant size today. Now, the young man who took my order was polite and efficient. The next young man, the broken cog in the wheel, held up progress. There's lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar - apparently, placing vegetables and condiments on a sandwich is this guy's Mt. Everest! There was one sandwich being prepared ahead of mine. It took 17 minutes (yes, I timed it because of my prior experience) to finally get my sub. I had to go sit down and get up a few times so I didn't develop bed sores on my ass. I think an undercover boss is in order. Staff apathetic. Sometimes they are all in the back leaving one person to take orders. My main concern tonight and the reason for a 2 is the men's bathroom was GROSS. Floor was dirty and grimy, toilet was unsanitary and covered with urine and other dirt. I ordered 6 subs/bowls for pickup yesterday and the #42 (Chipotle Chicken Cheese steak bowl only had a few strips of chicken and some cheese on top. There was not lettuce, tomato, peppers, onions or sauce. I was hosting a lunch & could not return to get the order right. Will NEVER go back to this place. Boy I love me some Jersey Mike's. The bread is normally fresh, you watch the people cut the meat to put on the sandwich, the condiments and vegetables are always fresh, and most likely they are serve it with a smile. My sandwich today was excellent, it was a beautiful day outside so I sat on the outside patio it had a regular size sub made Mike's way. For those who haven't eaten at Jersey Mike's, Mike's way is everything on it add vinegar and oil and seasoned salt; it is a beautiful sandwich. I get it it's only a sub sandwich, but it sure beats subway or other knock off gas station like submarine sandwich stores. At least here you know the vegetablesAnd meats are fresh. read more

Many thanks to Steven and his co-worker. Customer service is alive and well at this Jersey Mike's location. It makes the customer comfortable when spending there when you are treated with respect and there is a level of concern to deliver fresh food that taste good. On this visit, I got the Jersey Mike's Philly cheesesteak (regular size) and a watermelon sweet tea. Philly cheesesteak: 4/5. Good portion, served quick and hot but lacked a little flavor. Next time I think I'll had mustard and banana peppers to it or ask for pepper jack cheese to give it what its missing. I would still order this sandwich or others on future visits. Watermelon sweet tea: 5/5. A new flavor for me and it was refreshing and you could take the profile of the watermelon and sweet tea blending well together. Some kinda way, my son deemed himself my official taste tester and helped himself to my watermelon tea. He approved of its flavor as well. Parking is available in the front and rear of the store and is shared with neighboring business. The store was well maintained, chips, cookies and brownies were well stocked and the store has an inviting atmosphere. This place truly deserves zero stars and wouldn't get any stars from me if I could. Extremely unsanitary!!! I walked in to an associate sitting down she greeted me. As I begin to look at the refrigerated area I notice lunch meat on the rails (UNWRAPPED)!!!!! Also, there was lunch meat and cheese on a sheet of paper.. not wrapped in any plastic!!! I was truly astonished about these unsanitary conditions!!! And then when I said something, every associate acted surprised and like this wasn't an issue! Poor management, poor leadership, poor sanitation, poor EVERYTHING! And then the little black associate giggles and say "bye". While we like Jersey Mike's subs, I wouldn't order for delivery from this location. On multiple occasions, the order was missing items when we received it (not the delivery driver's fault). One a different occasion when I picked up an order, there were items missing (my fault for not checking before I left the store). Sending an email to their corporate does nothing. They say they will contact the store owner/manager and you never hear anything back. Whoever owns this store doesn't care about customer service or customer issues. Red Robin provides great customer service as an example. I received a delivery order and thought they gave me the wrong item. In fact it was the correct item, they just changed their product so it looked different. I received a phone call from the store manager the next day to explain and they gave me a store credit. read more

A new contender in the the many food choices in Waugh Chapel. Jersey Mike's took over the spot that was once held by Subway. This place is of course new and the employees are very enthusiastic and I hope that it continues. If you have been to a Jersey Mike's then you know that you are going to pay a tad bit more but this place is a few steps above of the establishment that was previously inhabiting this place. This can be offset if you sign up for their rewards program and they often have coupons offering you some good deals. The amount of meat that is placed on your selection is impressive. This does not matter if it a salad, wrap, or grinder. Yeah I said grinder. Food is good and they say they make the tuna fresh every day and after trying it I do believe them. You have a choice of three sub sizes and if you feeling froggy go for the giant that you can nibble on for a few days go for it. No selection is wrong as I can vouch that the despite being a sandwich it can hit the spot easily. I usually go with the Big Kahuna which is basically a cheese steak with jalapenos and peppers added. Very good and it is great to see that they did not just take some meat that was sitting out to microwave and then dump between some bread. Yeah you know what place I am talking about. This sandwich is good and not on the level of cheesesteaks in Philadelphia or even some spots in this area but it is not a sandwich to disappoint. I am not saying that the subs will knock your socks off but the quality of food is a step above the rest. Absolutely the worst Jersey Mike's we have tried. It's unfortunate because we love Jersey Mike's & this is the closest one. And we have given this location many, many chances. Subs at this location are NEVER ready on time. I have ordered in store and on app. Many times, they wait on their friends first, while you patiently wait for your sub. Their friends are in and out in 10 minutes, but we can't get out of there in less than 1/2 hour. And I'm not raging like some Karen; I stand there, waiting, not interfering with what they have to do. The employees barely acknowledge you are there at all, so they can't say they are engaging. Last night, I selected "ASAP - ready within 15 minutes of ordering" on the app. My husband was told I didn't select a time, so they hadn't started preparing the 4 subs we ordered. 45 minutes later, they were ready. AND THEY WERE WRONG. I got a giant #5 Super Sub. I opened it at home. No provolone, prosciuttini, and cappacuolo. Just ham. Getting ham when you want the flavors of an Italian cold cut is disappointing. Everyone got Rosemary Parmesan bread, although it was only ordered for 1of the 4 subs. While my husband was there the manager announced to people coming in that the customers could not place orders for cold cut subs at the counter; they would have to place the order on the app & wait for it. Think about that. 4 employees and no one can write #5, #9, #13 and #17 on an order form? The manager is trying to make this more self -service so customers have to login before ordering? So, they waited 45 minutes while the employee prepared their food. Is this really the future of service? 5/18/2020 WILL NEVER EVER GO HERE AGAIN!! If I could give negative stars I would. I've come here before the COVID 19 virus and service really sucked. My friend wanted to give them a try. We ordered online today around 6:10 and was told to pickup my order at 6:30. I walked in wearing a mask at 6:28 pm. No one is in the store except for three young men sitting in back shooting the sh.. I wait and try to get there attention. No masks or gloves are on at this point for them. I'm the only customer in the store, they are still talking amongst themselves. I yell excuse me!!! I'm here to pick up my order. There is some arguing about which of the three should help me. In my opinion all three should be doing something, from greeting me, seeing if I need some help, maybe checking why I came into their sub shop. After arguing for 3-4 minutes one of the gentlemen puts on a mask and asks me why I'm here. It's now 6:35 pm. I've Ben there 10 min. I give him my name and ask is my order ready. He says "nahh" and rips a order tape from the machine up front walks it back and puts it on the order board in front of the oven. Then tells another guy there is an order up. Mind you the order was placed online around 6:10 PM. The three gentlemen argue about who should do what, time now 6:40 pm I've been there 10 min too long. One of the young men looks at the receipt and yells to me "we ain't go no chicken", his coworker argues it's in back and go get it. I ask is my order ready? Once again we don't have the chicken for your sandwich. The order was never started nor do I think they really want to work. Maybe they are pissed at someone for making them work. At this point I don't really care Ive had enough waiting and request a refund of everything on my ticket including the tip I put on there blindly not knowing about the service I was about to receive. I've been there close to 18 min. They used to be good when they first opened up. But this place has gone downhill very fast and never come back. I try it every three to four months but I'm done. Never again ever. If you like Jersey Mikes might I point you to the one in Bowie off of Race Track Road and 450. I put some of the blame on the young employees but I place 99% on who ever the owner is that's not vested in the restaurant. Proper training a must, customer service even more important. So, of the two visits, one was a five-star experience, the other barely a three-star one, so a four-star average. Let me explain. On the first trip, soon after they opened, we had incredibly fast and friendly service, and our sandwiches came out quickly and without issue. No problems to report. The latest time I visited, though (just last week), it wasn't as grand and golden. The cold sub, no problem. Pretty quick delivery, though a little slower than usual, and it tasted great. The lettuce was already looking a bit brown, though, and the tomatoes were softer than I like, but they both tasted fresh. The hot sub was another matter. It was nearly 20 minutes from time of ordering to finally receiving it. It sat idle for more than 5 minutes at one point while the staff member was doing other things. I think he was just trying to deliver three hot subs at the same time, but I've never seen them take that long to cook before. Maybe he didn't start mine until the couple behind me (three orders behind me!) placed their hot sub orders in? Whatever the case, it was just way too long of a wait. Definitely not what I'm used to from other Jersey Mike's in the past. I will say that the flavor was still spot on, and the temp was fine by the time I got it home. The service and speed put me off a bit, but not to the point where I won't return. i am very glad that we have a JM's in Waugh Chapel now. Not only is it, in my opinion, the superior sandwich shop these days, but it's a great option instead of the sit-down or fast-food establishments that currently dot the landscape. read more

Wait over five minutes and no one come out and I'm parked right in front of their business. I literally had to get out my vehicle and go inside to pick up my order. I've been to a lot of Jersey Mike's and they are usually my favorite subs, but I think I've had the worst one I've ever eaten at this location. The roll was hard as a rock and stale. The service was horrible too. It was an off time (3:35) so no one else there. The young staff made me feel like they were so inconvenienced to serve me as they were just hanging out. When one young man finally saw I was waiting, he took the time to take a few swigs of his soda before just standing there looking at me waiting to tell him what I wanted (he didn't ask). Subs are great. Staff is awful. Have to ask for bacon on subs that include bacon on the menu. Staff is milling about and not doing anything except hanging out with each other. I watched the bread tops be switched on subs and wanted to see what they did. One guy saw the mistake, looked at the other guy, shrugged his shoulders and finished the sub. I'd have said something except I just wanted them to be done since they clearly can't follow instructions or the menu and I figured it would take another ten minutes for them to fix the mistake. Short review: The subs were great, the service was decent. I took my nephews to this location a few weeks ago and we ordered our food. The girls behind the counter were giggling and pointing at the point of sale screen as they rang up the order. I guess they were having trouble figuring out what we said because they asked me twice about the order and called out the kitchen staff once or twice to show them the screen. They gave my nephews free cookies which was really cool, and appreciated. I was just wondering if maybe this place should take a page out of Jimmy Johns's book in regard to speed of service. Hey Mike ! Stopped by yesterday and was greeted by happy, upbeat, friendly staff ! Used my coupon and got free drink and chips with a DELICIOUS cheese steak sub !
