No one from the store contacted me first. The order was supposed to include pickles and cucumbers. At first I was told they didn't have them, but when I called the store myself, I was then told they did have cucumbers and pickles, but they needed to be sliced and it would be a wait. That was frustrating because my order had already been placed 15 minutes earlier, and the store still had about two hours until closing. Why weren't basic sandwich toppings already prepared during business hours? This also delayed me being able to take my medication by over an hour, which made the situation even more frustrating. I ordered food expecting it to arrive in a reasonable time so I could eat and take my medication, not have to chase down information about missing or unprepared ingredients. On top of that, when I finally received the sandwich, it was very dry and had barely any mustard. They also added salt and oregano even though I removed those from the order. After all the delay and confusion, the food still wasn't made correctly. I understand things happen, but the communication was poor and the situation didn't make sense. If items are unavailable, they should be marked unavailable online before customers pay. And if the items are available but just not prepped, the customer should be told clearly and directly instead of me finding out from the delivery driver. Overall, this was a frustrating experience because I paid for my order expecting it to be made correctly and on time. Instead, I had to call the store myself, my medication schedule was delayed, and the sandwich arrived dry, with minimal mustard, and with ingredients I specifically removed due to allergies.

A lot of the reviews raved about their Grilled Pork banh mi, but I was craving chicken that day, so I decided to go with the Grilled Chicken banh mi instead. And I'm so glad I did! The grilled chicken was seasoned well with aromatic herbs and spices, making it so flavorful. The baguette was also right up my alley! It was nice and soft while still holding everything together without getting too soggy from the pickled carrots, daikon, and Vietnamese butter. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of baguettes that are overly hard and crunchy because they tend to scratch up the roof of my mouth. So I really appreciated that this bread was soft enough to bite into comfortably. Everything came together so well! I also noticed that they offered quite a variety of spring rolls, and of course, I couldn't resist ordering some! I went with the Grilled Shrimp Rolls, which come with three per order. One thing I really appreciated was the extensive selection of the complimentary dipping sauces. You can choose one from: fish sauce, soy sauce, peanut sauce, T' An sauce, teriyaki sauce, and spicy versions of each, along with sambal chili paste and sriracha. For my spring rolls, I chose the T' An sauce, which reminded me of a spicy mayo with its creamy, slightly spicy flavor profile. The shrimp was nicely grilled, well-seasoned, and flavorful. I'd definitely order these again. What I also found interesting was how eclectic their menu is. In addition to banh mi and spring rolls, they offer pizza, wings, and appetizers like mozzarella sticks, cheesy bread, and pastrami fries. Definitely not your typical banh mi shop, but I love that there's such a wide variety of options to choose from! All in all, I was really happy with my first experience, especially considering everything was delivered. The food was fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, and I'm already looking forward to trying more of their menu.

I let him know this was our first time there so we hadn't. We tried his favorite, which was the cheese one, and it was good! And came with spicy Mayo. We also tried their Vietnamese coffee and signature boba. Everything we tried was delicious, definitely check this place out!

I compared it to the Philly's Best Cheesesteak in Irvine, CA that I went to about a month ago. I find that the location in Irvine made a better sandwich. I got The Philly Philly at both locations, but the location in Irvine made it better. The sandwich in Irvine was less salty and their bread was better. The bun in Downey tasted a little more chewy and less flavorful! Rankings so far: 1. Philly's Best Cheesesteak (Irvine, CA) 2. South Philly Experience (Los Angeles, CA) 3. Philly's Best Cheesesteak (Downey, CA) I'll provide another update in 2-3 weeks! All 3 locations provide a good overall experience though. I was a little disappointed that one of the cheesesteaks in Downey leaked through the paper bag, which means at least one of the four steaks was not wrapped correctly. I didn't have that experience in Irvine, and I drove an hour back home with 3 steak sandwiches in my car.

It was about time I finally gave my review to Gaucho Mercado in Downey. They open at 10 AM, and of course I was the first one in line . I went a little overboard and got a dozen and a half facturas (Argentinian pastries), some goodies, two ham & cheese pebetes, and some chipas. No regrets! This place never disappoints. Everything is made and baked right there, and you can absolutely tell. The facturas were fresh, soft, buttery, and tasted like they had barely made it out of the oven. The chipas were warm and cheesy, and the pebetes made the perfect savory addition to my pastry haul. But what really makes Gaucho Mercado special is the experience. The customer service is always great--good conversations, plenty of laughs, and that warm, welcoming Argentine vibe. The indoor space is on the smaller side, but it still feels comfortable and welcoming. They also have a pastry case when you walk in, and the coffee bar is set up in the back. For drinks, we tried the Hot Biscoff Cookie Latte and the Double Matcha. The Biscoff Cookie Latte was my favorite. It had a nice Biscoff flavor without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. The Double Matcha was also really good, smooth and creamy with a nice matcha flavor. They can also add latte art to the drinks, which is a nice touch. For food, I went with the Short Rib Benedict because I'm a sucker for a good Benedict. The short rib was tender and flavorful, and everything on the plate worked really well together. Definitely something I would order again. We also tried the Ratatouille Omelette, which was a great vegetarian option. It was packed with vegetables and had plenty of flavor. I liked that it didn't feel like a boring or basic vegetarian breakfast option. And of course, we had to try dessert. The Dubai Crepe was really good. I liked the chocolate and pistachio combination, and it wasn't overly sweet. We also got the Biscoff Cheesecake, which was another favorite. It was creamy, rich, and had a good Biscoff flavor. Overall, I really enjoyed One12 Caffe. There is a good variety of coffee, brunch items, and desserts, so there's something for pretty much everyone. The food was solid, the drinks were good, and the robotic coffee arm was definitely a fun bonus. My personal favorites were the Biscoff Cookie Latte, Short Rib Benedict, and Biscoff Cheesecake. Carlos gave some of the best customer service I've had in a long time at Jersey Mike's. From the moment I walked in, he was professional, welcoming, and clearly knew the menu inside and out. He recommended the #8 sandwich and it was honestly one of the best choices I could've made absolutely delicious. He also recommended the cookies, and I'm glad he did because they were amazing. What stood out the most was how well he carried himself and managed the team. Everyone seemed to respect him, and the atmosphere reflected that. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about customer experience. Because of Carlos, I'll definitely be coming back and continuing to support this location.
