Came here to grab some steaks for Father's Day and was so impressed! Not only is it a butcher shop, but it's a mini grocery store with all the essential and a restaurant inside. Ai was optimistic and even confident that this Brisket would be good if not amazing. Ordered the Brisket Burrito and 2 Brisket Empanadas. Was served a bowl of hot vegetable, (maybe a broth), noodle soup while ai waited that was tasty which added to my admiration. Was having lunch in the truck and let's just say, My Brisket Burrito was nothing short of AMAZING. Smokey tender succulent sweet and soft. Coupled with the tender flavorful Rice Beans and Cheese in a seared Burrito Shell. Left me thoroughly impressed with its Smokey flavor and every aspect of its offering. Next. I hate complaining, but I'm going to have to do it this time. I've been hitting this place for breakfast every few weeks for a while. It's usually five stars, but I've left with an uneasy feeling the last two times. I haven't seen the usual lady cooking, and the consistency of the food is not great when she is not around. Also, the prices seem higher--$ 53 bucks for three items. I asked for eggs and asada on my Chilaquiles, and it was almost five bucks for just the eggs. The "asada" was equal to a tiny street taco. As for the food, The chilaquiles were just egg nachos. They were dry and looked a mess. I still haven't tried the breakfast burrito I bought. In conclusion, My food sucked today, and I'm just whining. I will probably delete this later, but I hope they will get it together the Next time I come. read more

Food is fresh and amazing. Try the hot sandwiches, they are GREAT, esp the brisket. As for the meats, they're really really good cuts. Been here twice for the brisket sandwich. Pretty good. Meat was tender and flavorful. They put guacamole on the sandwich which i also like. I havent tried anything else but i hear their tacos are also really good. Next time i will tey something different. They also have a wide range of meats. Its a butcher shop. A friend of mine but taco meat and said it was really good. Also have to try that. I noticed they also sell various flavors of charcoal/mesquite. Come check them out. Great tasting steak!! . But kinda pricey if you order on door dash. Comes out to 30 something dollars and they used to include grilled onions and jalapeños but they stopped. This place will not let you down. They have a really great little restaurant/taco shop style food spot inside, with the most succulent smoked brisket. It's one of the better briskets in the city. They also have enormous breakfast burritos, sandwiches and more. Also inside, you'll find a full butcher shop, wine, beer, fresh veggies, quick fry food items and some other basic corner store items... ranging from tortillas to milk to cookies to household needs. So this review is going to be in a few parts. First the butcher shop itself. What can I say but this is heaven for someone who likes quality meat and specific cuts as well as standard meats. Whether it's a full rack of beef plate short ribs, pork ribs, Brisket or steaks Luis' can't be beat for quality. This goes for their chicken too (hint, buy the yellow skin chicken it is far richer, has more flavor and a bit more fat under the skin). Their carne asada is unmatched from anywhere else I have bought it in the area and their Chicharron is hands down the best with crunchy skin and crunchy on the outside/tender on the inside meat. Now on to the cafe because the cafe also shines. Whether you want regular tacos, tacos dorados, or a burrito they have you covered and if you want the best? Get the brisket sandwich (with melty cheese, grilled telera bread and quac) or brisket fries/nachos or tacos. They smoke their brisket in house with the owner's chipotle rub (which they also sell). Now as for service, they will custom cut your meat to your specifications (for a small fee) the staff is always friendly and helpful. One time I was looking for a rack of pork aka standing pork roast, they had one but it was frozen they put it overnight to thaw and had it for me the next morning. I have yet to not receive amazing service! If you are looking for quality meat, specific cuts and great service or just want something quick to eat from their cafe, Luis' is the spot to go. read more

Yay or nay? 1/2 Good spot to pick up certain meats. I've enjoyed the entraña (skirt steak), and the Argentine sausages here. Their marinated chicken was good but nothing special. Same with their marinated carne asada. Thought the chicken was better, asada tasted slightly old and I grilled it the same day I bought it. The morcilla (blood sausage) here was gross, would not recommend it. The costillas (short ribs) I was sold here weren't great. I haven't tried them (or the morcilla) again in years though, so that may have changed. They also sell sandwiches, burritos and other items to go. Their pulled pork sandwich is decent. The meat is tasty but by the time I take a bite the bread is a soggy mess, so I don't find myself ever craving it despite the good flavors. The carne asada burrito on the other hand, was not enjoyable at all. Was mostly veggies. Tomatoes cut too thick. Ingredients not dispersed evenly. Lacked meat. The little meat it did have was not good quality. Had pieces of gristle and did not taste fresh. Complementary chips that came with the burrito were stale. Salsas were decent. I'd stick with taking fresh meat home rather than the prepared food from here. Besides their meats and prepared foods, they also have a decent selection of items I enjoy such as their Cuban crackers and dulce de leche. All in all, a decent meat market for some cuts, but not a one stop shop for all your meat needs. Expense 1/1 Prices seem fair to me. Haven't noticed anything cheaper or more expensive than other similar markets. Location 1/1 The location is a bit small, but I haven't had any issues getting in and out. Staff is friendly and they have a small parking. Also accept debit/credit cards. There is a Lee's Sandwiches location nearby that I like to pick up baguettes from. My bil discovered this butchery. It's so good that he'll drive to Downey for it. A bit on the pricer side but really worth it. They use high quality meats and their marination for the carne asada & pollo is really flavorful and delish. I'm not too big of a tacos. It's something I'd eat if it's there but don't really crave for it being a 1st choice of eatery. Luis meats I do crave for. Really juicy and tender. Highly suggest going for that drive and supporting a small business once. Ck it out yourself and tell mee if I'm wrong regarding his good the pre marinated taco meats are. Our entire family loves it. My bil has visited here about 3 times. Each time buying more than just enough to BBQ for Sunday lunch that turns into Sunday's dinner since there's plentiful to go around.
