So for 4 years we've gone there and also order takeout 2x a week because it's the healthiest food in the area that's quick. Customer service is always mediocre and pick up orders have never once been correct. you subtract or add something and it doesn't get done etc. Today I went in and it was completely different. I got a sub in a tub as usual and they actually made it like a salad as requested. The gentleman was so accommodating to any substitutes, so polite and went above and beyond. I even asked him his name and he said MATT.. honestly I won't go back if that man doesn't make our food because he's EXCELLENT. Can they clone him? todays experience was 10/10

Regular #6 Mike's Way with mayo

#6 Mike's Way with mayo. You're welcome. Yes, it's expensive - but nobody needs a giant sub. A regular is perfectly sufficient for most people. Jersey Mike's blows Subway, etc out of the water because the stuff is freshly sliced to order. Yes, their service is lacking - this place pales in comparison to Branford, but the roast beef here is so damn delicious that I'll deal with it.

Plastic #13 The Original Italian

two guys in there working were not friendly and didn't know what they were doing.. i told them what i wanted, two sandwiches, mikes way. they were very unorganized, looking for the knives to cut my sandwich & missed items on the sandwich. i asked him multiple times to add the missing items and he finally did after looking for another knife, cutting it and about to wrap it up in the paper.. food was good until i had a piece of plastic in my mouth..

We went to Jersey Mike's just-opened branch in Derby, only to get harassed by the manager who then went on to incredibly rudely flirt with (and give cookies to) a girl in gym shorts with her boyfriend getting completely weirded out. He then scowled at all the other women in the line, as if they where ruining his shot at picking up a woman a third of his age. They left in a hurry, and he followed them out to give her a gift card and a wink. Considering all the employees let this scene unfold, and it completely ruined our experience here, we will NOT be back to this brand new and super convenient Jersey Mike's no matter how much I enjoy the brand. Unfortunate, especially considering this store just opened last week. I will update this review if anything changes.

They are not cheap, but the qualify of the ingredients is worth it to me, and a giant sub can easily feed 3 or 4 people .

The Bronx Experience in Shelton If you want the soul of…read moreArthur Avenue without the trip to New York, Gaetano's Deli in Shelton is the undisputed heavyweight champion. Founders Guy and Milanno actually got their start on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx back in 1990, and they've successfully transplanted that high-energy, authentic Italian spirit right into Fairfield County. The Foundation: Arthur Avenue Bread The bread at Gaetano's is legendary. They source it directly from the Bronx, ensuring that every sandwich starts with a foundation of beautiful, crusty sesame seed bread. * The Texture: It has that signature "snap" on the outside while remaining airy and soft on the inside. * The Flavor: The toasted sesame seeds add a nutty depth that complements the salty Italian meats and tangy vinegars perfectly. The Gold Standard Chicken Cutlets Many places claim to have good cutlets, but Gaetano's cooks theirs to absolute perfection. * The "Kovac's Special": Often cited as their flagship sandwich, it features a chicken cutlet so tender and well-seasoned it stands out even when paired with heavy hitters like prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, and broccoli rabe. * Crispy & Light: The breading is never greasy; it's thin, golden, and provides the perfect crunch in every bite. Unbeatable Value and Atmosphere Despite the premium quality and the "Bronx-to-CT" logistics, the value here is incredible. You can find several of their least expensive--yet still massive--sandwiches (like the John Wayne or various parmigiana rolls) starting around $11.50 to $14.00, with many hearty heroes hovering right at that $15.00 mark. The service team is a well-oiled machine. They are fast, friendly, and carry that classic deli "swagger" that makes the atmosphere feel alive. It's loud, it's bustling, and it's unapologetically Italian.

I went for the kovac special...a hero loaded with chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, prosciutto, and sautéed broccoli rabe. I added balsamic and it really set it off. All of their food is fresh and the bread is unreal. I believe they get it daily from Arthur Ave. My wife got the Stratford & main which was just chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, balsamic and roasted peppers. Only nitpick was that we felt a little rushed to order, and maybe we would have gotten something different but you really can't go wrong with anything at this place. The shop is loaded with various Italian imported foods, but didn't see any tables to sit and eat inside, so be sure to grab & go. Highly recommend.

I ordered a Chopped Cheese as I never had one before. My sandwich was made in about ten minutes and the sandwich was delicious. It was very flavorful, the meat was cooked just right, and it had just the right amount ingredients to bring it all together. I went back a second time to get a Chopped Cheese but it wasn't as good as the first time I ordered it. The first time I came here another staffer made my sandwich. I would say they have to work on their consistency. The customer was good and the staff are really working hard to bring this new business together. I will definitely be back to taste the Halal menu.

It's super clean, and the gentlemen that work there, we're kind. All the ingredients are displayed right in front of you, and everything is so fresh and looks so yummy. I tried the NYC chopped cheese. I switched it up a bit, only because I do not like Mayo and tomato - so I added some jalapeños. It's literally the best cheese steak I've ever had! The flavors were just wow! And I love that they slightly grill the roll - it totally completes the sandwich. They have a great menu, different varieties of food. I'm definitely going back to try the Halal food. Happy we have a new deli in town!
