I get one of their small subs whenever I pass through Union Station - it's cheap, fast and good, with ample, fresh ingredients. It's very convenient to just grab the bag and eat on the train. Note: this location as of early January 2026 does not have the highly commercialized Hot Italian. Let me preface by acknowledging the following: 1) the fast food industry is blah 2) those who work in fast food don't have to love their jobs 3) it's even harder to work in a fast food restaurant in a conference center or large transportation hub But this place is special. Nice workers but it's kind of chaotic. They cut your bread/ meat / cheese to order so that part takes time. They don't always prepare sandwiches w toppings in order- so some wait longer than others. Such is life no biggie. If they don't have certain staple toppings like tomato they should make a big sign so it's known before people pay. When it came to telling the worker the toppings there was like 5 tomatoes in the bin and I was told there were no more tomatoes. I asked if they could put what they had on my sandwich. But something magic happened. There were tomatoes in the refrigerator. She didn't even have to cut them. So when she made my husband's sub , I asked if he could have tomatoes, too. Not sure what I'm missing but that was weird. It was at prime dinner time not late so I don't get it. Grateful I was able to have tomatoes though. Maybe im weird but there's no point to pay money and get a sub if they don't have staple ingredients. Anyway, the subs traveled home fine and tasted good. I had the turkey and provolone. Husband had the classic Italian. If I didn't have to make the trek to the south side, I would have gotten a cheese steak. If I'm at union station again I'll be sure to grab one then. The bread was so stale and hard that I couldn't even eat it. And the worker took forever because he was too busy chatting everyone up. I'm all about being friendly, he was nice, but he starts asking the people behind you what they want when he hasn't even started the sandwich of the person in front of him. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to make a simple cold sub, and it's in Union Station, so people have trains to catch!! Two people left because they would have missed their trains had they waited. And then the bread was like a hockey puck. I won't be eating there again. read more

Terrible service and unhygienic. Big guy was roughhousing with the female employee wiping mayo/ whatever from his plastic gloves onto her arms then handled my sandwiches without swapping gloves. Then as I'm checking out the female employee was giving me death stares for no reason, I said please and thank you, just to get a blank look. Order was wrong as well, I got a buffalo chicken sandwich, they put beef on it on something, also just wrapped it without asking if I wanted toppings. Walked in to get a buffalo chicken sandwich on a Friday before 5pm. The workers were everywhere but behind the counter. As soon as I asked for the buffalo chicken sandwich the lady immediately told me that the grill was turned off. The shock on my face when I looked at the time and the "grill isn't on". Glad I didn't order anything because after reading the comments on here and seeing with my own eyes how dirty the place is, I think I got lucky. Want improvements? Get rid of all the workers, unfortunately. People are looking for jobs and the workers there have one job and it's to make sandwiches but don't want to make anything that has to do with grilling. read more

It's Saturday. I just got off of an Amtrak train and have a 4 hour wait for my connection. I'm hungry and I don't want to leave the station. Jersey Mike's to the rescue! I would have posted a picture with this review but my wife and I were hungry and all that's left are the wrappers. I am posting a picture of our dining options though. Doughnut won't do it. Chick-fil-A isn't open. I can eat McDonald's anywhere. To the review ... There were 3 people behind the counter. We were greeted better than I have ever been before. All through ordering process we were made to feel like we were with an old friend and they were making us a sandwich in their kitchen. Wait! It gets better! We got to the end and had to pay, boy oh boy did that final person lady on the charm! This was the most expensive sub I have ever purchased. Sandwich, dunks, chips and cookies were $25. But was it worth it? Every penny. We got a huge sandwich that filled both of us that treated amazing. But the real value here is in the people working the line while we were there. I will be back through Chicago Union Station next Saturday with a 2.5 hour layover. I think there is another sub in my future! read more

waiting 15 min to place an order is absolutely ridiculous with only 2 customers plus an additional walking into the store. Then the wait time to prepare the sandwich to add to a total of about 25 -30 min for 1 customer is outrageous. Minus the additional customer that just walked out of the store before of the long wait times. Again ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS, and that's the customer before me. My order hasn't been taken yet which will add to me spending about 30-40 min for my food. read more

Been there a couple of times and it was always a nice experience. There is a big options of sandwiches and other stuff that I like. Previous time I ordered Italian sandwich and they did it perfectly. Flavor was smooth and tender and it tasted so good. It's a great option if you're feeling a bit hungry and need something to grab a bite. Staff was also kind and friendly unlike it might happen in other spots I visited. I was greeted with a smiling eyes and they didn't make me spend more time than expected for being served. I really appreciate it and I would say they really take care of each person's health and security regardless it's an employee or a customer. Two days ago a friend of mine and I were traveling through Union Station decided to stop at Jersey Mike's at the food court to grab a couple of subs before catching our next train. We arrived at the location on Thursday 2/11/2021 at 12:36 p.m. and told the blonde 20 something young lady who began to help us, that we would like her to please change the blades on the slicer, change her gloves, change her knife and to place a new sandwhich wrapper paper down on the counter due to dietary restrictions (We don't eat pork and were looking to prevent any type of cross contamination within our food. This has never been an issue at ANY other location so I didn't see why it would be problematic. Most team members gladly accommodate my requests and keep things moving). The young women looked annoyed at the request and began to sloppily clean off only the top portion of the slicer. There was still meat on the slicer when she gestured as though she was done cleaning it off. I told her that I was safe-serve trained and that she needed to do more to clean the machine; such as remove the current blade, clean the top and bottom of the machine where the meat would be placed and switch in a new blade that had been sterilized already. I was very polite about the request but knew she clearly had NOT done what would have been required to clean this machine properly. Rather than do what was necessary, she met me with a "death stare" and proceeded to tell me with absolute attitude that she was," the manager for 8 years and knew what she was doing". 1) I didn't ask for her resume, I asked her to clean the blades properly. 2) With her being the manager she should've known that she wasn't done cleaning that machine and 3) If she has been the manager for 8 years and treats the customers like that, someone should re-evaluate her for that position. I asked her to continue to cleaning the machine. She begrudgingly removed the last pieces of meat off of the old blade and then PUT IT BACK on. She didn't replace it like she was supposed to so I told my friend that I was going to order tuna and that if I were her I would do the same. My friend decided she would go ahead and still get the turkey she was craving and we moved on to the assembly station. I asked this young lady yet again to please replace the knife she was about to use for our sandwiches. At this time my friend told her this was for religious purposes (she was trying to cut some of the tension that we were now experiencing). The lady told us with absolute ATTITUDE that she only used that knife to cut the bread but once our sandwiches were done being assembled she used that same knife to cut them as well. I was so disgusted and was about to leave but my friend who is an elderly person asked that we just get our food and go. I acquiesced. At the register my friend gave her a tip of two dollars and when I asked her why she did that she stated that she wanted to "kill her with kindness and show her that we would not stoop to her level." It took EVERYTHING out of me NOT to take that tip back but it wasn't my money. The customer service we experienced at that location was ATROCIOUS, DISRESPECTFUL and UNACCEPTABLE! If that is the way your managers behave towards CUSTOMERS, then you don't deserve our business. I can't imagine how she treats the employees. We will NEVER come to that location again and will absolutely be telling our friends and family about our experience so they don't come there either. Disgusted! read more

Terrible experience for my mother and both my aunts. Very nasty employees that deserve to get fired!!! If there's a language barrier between the employee and customer try your best to understand and be a little more patient. Not a place I would recommend to anyone. read more

I don't know why I haven't previously written a reveiw on this place. I mean, I have now been there many times when I have a taste for a good Italian style sub sandwich. I have to be honest with you, my first and only ordered sandwich here is the orginal Italian. When you order I sandwich and its done right; and its what I'm looking for. The order is always consistently very good. So why fix what isn't broken? I mean, why should I move on, and order something that might not be as good, maybe...? Unlike most chain sandwiches where just about everything is precut, not here. They make their sandwiches made to order fresh. I like mine with the olive oil, vinegar (decent quality), lettuce, tomato, oregano, salt, green olive relish, and hot peppers (Yum!). If you arrive during a rush period. Please be patient because orders are made fresh, which makes all the difference. Or if possible come in at an off time, like I do. I still would not put them in the same category as Chicago homegrown Graziano's or Bari. My favorite, Graziano's makes some very good high quality ingredient sandwiches, just like in Europe. But they do blow away the other chain sandwich places. read more

I ordered twice, once on the grand opening 15min and then 2 months later (20min). The sandwiches were delicious; however, they lacked at speedy turnaround times.
