Jersey Boy Bagels is one of my favorite spots in Morristown. We'll usually walk here or stop by after a bike right on the weekends for a bagel. Jersey Boy's is reliable in that they always have a variety of bagels and cream cheese that I like. Even when there is a line, the service is quick. Their iced coffee is always fresh when I go and the perfect companion to my salt bagel with scallion cream cheese. You can't miss the place with it's bright pink awning on South Street. My favorite routine, when it's nice out, is to grab a breakfast sandwich and walk it across the street to eat it at the fountain on The Green. My favorite bagel place to stop at when I'm back in New Jersey! So many great bagel options, and a wide variety of food that isn't bagels. There is truly something for everyone here! My favorite is the tuna sandwich on a bagel scooped out! Their bagel of the day is also always good, and you can never go wrong with any of their bakery items. The parking here, and everywhere on the green in Morristown, is hard so it's probably best to walk :( They also do great delivery if you work or live nearby, just call ahead! read more

We just moved to Morristown and stopped by for some breakfast here and it was absolutely excellent! Being from NY its hard to match a good bagel but i must say this was better than any NYC bagel I've had to date. My husband got an everything bagel with cream cheese and i got a plain bagel with butter, egg and cheese and it was phenomenal! The staff was so friendly and pleasant, positive vibes and great customer service upon greeting us. I consider myself to be a bagel aficionado. I've been eating bagels for more than fifty years. I've eaten bagels made at well-known and notable bagel shops in New York and Brooklyn. I used to get bagels from one of the greatest bagel shops in the country - Watson bagels, first in Newark and then on Chancellor Avenue in Irvington. These bagels were made by the bagel "master," Sonny Amster. I've even eaten bagels made by his son, Harlan, who opened a string of "Bagels are Us" shops across central New Jersey. I used to hang out at 4 a.m. with a friend who owned a bagel shop while he began his daily ritual of preparing and baking his bagels. The point is, I know my bagels. All of this being said, the bagels made by Jersey Boy Bagels are the best bagels I have ever eaten. Over the years, I refined my taste to sesame bagels. Jersey Boy Bagels sesame bagels are incredible. The outside of the bagel is covered in delicious sesame seeds. The bagels are crisp on the outside, and the inside is soft and delicious. Whether toasted or eaten "raw," I haven't found bagels this since the "old days" when making bagels was an art. The Jersey Boy Bagel makers are indeed bagel artists. Couldn't get to Brooklyn to get a bagel so stopped in and sorry I did. .95 for a bagel and almost $3.00 for butter? Butter that cost $3.00 for a tub at any Supermarket even Whole Foods? Butter that maybe cost the owner .50? Butter for $3.00?! No, I simply couldn't do it and when I told the gentleman I didn't want it with butter and just plain his entire demeanor changed. This Restaurant bagel shop looks very inviting and initially I had a very good impression when I walked through the door I ordered a Taylor ham sandwich on an everything bagel, no egg no cheese ketchup and salt pepper. I mistakenly didn't check my order which is still their fault, and when I finally opened the sandwich it was a sesame seed bagel with Taylor ham no ketchup no salt no pepper. The bagel cost $.95 so they charge three dollars for the cream cheese, REALLY???? I tried this spot because there was nothing else around that was fast. The first thing I noticed was I would definitely prefer it be cleaner. It wasn't filthy but it wasn't clean. I ordered a cheese burger and fries with a Snapple. 17$ WTF! The fries were your typical coated frozen fries. I wasn't a fan. The burger was precooked then reheated. It was gray. thick and dry. It wasn't on a burger bun like advertised but on a hard roll. It was a horrible burger. I took two bites and threw it away. I should have played it safe and ordered a bagel with cream cheese. 17$ that probably cost 3$ to make without the Snapple. Everyone is taking advantage of us these days because they just blame Covid. Inflation has raised prices but not to these extremes. They are making more profit now then before Covid and inflation. As long as us morons pay they will keep robbing us. The best bagel place on South Street because, uh, it's the only bagel place on South Street. Still a solid local choice. Bagels are often still warm from the oven, they have a decent crust and are about the right size, altho they're a little less chewy and a little too puffy than what I think is a classic NY bagel. As of this writing a bagel is $0.95. Occasionally I get to-go sandwiches from these guys. Great rolls, generous portions, very reasonable prices. They sell a ton of coffee here, but I have not tried it recently so can't help. Easy to park in front at 7am on your way to some ball field with the kid, impossible at lunch time. Changed ownership about 2011 (I'm really guessing here) and they remodeled about then, the place is not nearly the pit it once was LOL. New owners kept all the classic sandwiches like the Jersey Sloppy Joe etc., and added a lunchtime buffet and Middle Eastern options like shawerma (that's what their sign says, yes I know most people spell it shawarma). Look, I can walk here with the dog so I hit them every weekend. Other places in Morristown also sell bagels but so far I've found none that are as good as Jersey Boy. read more

Was in the area for a convention at the Hyatt and stopped here while trying to find food. First issue I faced was the layout is confusing as you don't order at the register, you order at the counter. Second, the gentlemen taking my order did not speak enough English to grasp the word "Cheeseburger." Three, this caused me to have to order by number. The menus are small and need a different coloring scheme, as from my angle the Cheeseburger looked like 11 when it was 31. What I got instead of the Cheeseburger was a "Cajun Devils." It was about everything I would never put on a sandwich in my life and tasted terrible, the bagel wasn't even good. Only reason I give this place two stars is the lady at the register was very nice and helpful. She should be the person taking the orders, not the people who have no grasp of English preparing the food. The store should also move the register to the front...where they have one that was not being used. This is quite average price- they even have breakfast and lunch specials. Really (do I need to say this?) if you want something cheap, order something cheap. It is true, parking is not easy. Bagel was fine, lox OK, no capers.... my buddy had an egg platter with hash browns and a butter bagel, which he said was fine. We had all this with medium coffee for less than twenty bucks. Taylor ham, egg, and cheese with SPK on a sesame seed bagel: I will grant Jersey Boy Bagels this, they managed to put an egg, some cheese, and what they believe to be Taylor ham on a sesame seed bagel. That being said, I truly believed that I lived in a society where it was impossible to screw up a breakfast sandwich with Taylor ham on it. Regardless of what crazy stuff happened in the world, that was my constant. My north star. Thanks for ruining that, boys. My worldview changed today, and to be quite honest I'm not sure how I feel about it. Are we, or are we not, in the town where George Washington won the Revolutionary War? I don't know; that used to mean something to people. Is this what he fought for? I don't feel like it's that ridiculous to think that someone should know the difference between a delicious man-made delicacy and some seeds that grew out of cow manure. I'm not ashamed; I saw someone last week eating a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a chocolate chip bagel, and you know what? I was intrigued. Is it going to be absolutely gross, or will it be life-changing? These types of moments are few and far between, but I was too big of a baby to order it, so I got a bagel on the side to test the sweet and savory waters. Fellas, I get that Switzerland was neutral during the war, but it's sure not neutral in this case. My goodness. Who in the world allowed for this to happen? Listen, I'm not a pro-big government kind of guy, but you're convincing me that we need to expand the bureaucracy into overlooking our delis, so you guys don't pull a stunt like this again. The guy who killed Jeffrey Epstein is eating better than this. I want you to take a good, honest look at yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself how NO ONE in that store looked at that bagel, with two flaccid pieces of Swiss cheese, and thought to themselves: "No one would ever order this." Seriously, get into your receipts and find me ONE instance of someone asking you for a bagel with two cold slices of Swiss cheese. I'll wait. Oh wait, not done. When I called the deli, they insisted that I was given the wrong bag. Nope. I had to explain to them that their delivery was just accurate enough to be recognizable as my food, while simultaneously not being my food. You know how sometimes a celebrity messes up their face with plastic surgery, and you're pretty sure it's still them, but if you had to describe what you're seeing to someone, they wouldn't be able to figure out who you were talking about? Realized how amazing this place was when teachers kept bringing baskets of bagels to the teachers lounge at work. The bagels are soft and have amazing flavor. This place is gross. I have been here a couple of times and each time I cursed myself out for going in there. Bagels- wtf are these things.. I hate supermarket bagels and I would eat supermarket bagels over this stuff. Sandwiches- Rueben- It was a greasy mess of second rate cold cuts, I don't know if they use thumans or some other type of low end meat. Whatever it was, it wasn't good. The worst part about it was they use other griddle grease to try to get the bread crisp. But what they did was use the griddle spatula to scrape the dirty grease from other parts so it gets sopped up. Whatever leftover grease was left from my sandwich, they pushed it back to the puddle of dirty grease for the next sandwich. Gross! Turkey sandwich- It was crappy turkey meat, the gelatinous kind.
