First time in a couple of years that we have visited Jerry's. The last time was not pleasant. This timed it was fabulous. We had coffee right away and our cups never had a chance to get empty as the server was on the job! To our surprise our breakfasts were what we ordered and how we ordered them. My experience started with walking in the the door and being told to seat ourselves. After 10 mins my husband got up and grabbed us menus off the counter. We sat their another 20 mins and watched our waitress sit 2 other tables and tend to them before even getting us water. When she came to get our "drink order" we had to force her to take our actual order as well. I ordered pork chops in a raspberry chipotle sauce with a baked potato. She brought my meal and said "well I'm guessing we don't have baked potatoes since you got mashed", I ask if she could find out and she replied with saying she got yelled at by the cook already for asking. When she finally came back to check on us (I was almost done) I tried to verify the pork chops should have been made with a raspberry chipotle sauce as it mentioned on the menu and obviously were not. Her mind was blown (per her) that the pork chops should have been prepared that way. This restaurant had the worst customer service I've experienced in years! We are in Fallon for a couple of days and took to Yelp to find a place to eat. Despite some of the negative reviews, we decided to give Jerry's a try because the menu items were more of what we were looking for. I get that it's a difficult time for everyone and most businesses are struggling right now. We went in for dinner last night, 5 of us. There was only one waitress working. Wait time was long and drink refills weren't up to par, but we were understanding of the situation and patient. It was clear our waitress was over-worked and stressed. I ordered the Southwest Pork Chop - "Two centered cut chops, cut from the loin, with a raspberry chipotle dressing." When my food came, I mentioned that there was supposed to be a raspberry sauce on the pork chops. The waitress told me that they have no sauce and they haven't had sauce in the two years she's worked there. Ok... Had I known that, I would have ordered something else. I heard her go back to the cook and mention something about the sauce. Later I mentioned that I didn't understand why the menu stated raspberry dressing if there wasn't any and if there really wasn't any, why I wasn't informed of that when I ordered. The waitress claimed that she usually tells people but that she's "the only one working" at the moment - as she walked away. I get that they're busy and Covid is making things difficult on everyone, but the fact that she's the only one working is not the customers fault. If there truly isn't raspberry sauce on the pork chops and new menus can't be ordered, then take a sharpie to the menus. Easy fix that doesn't leave customers disappointed when they don't receive what they ordered. The mashed potatoes were amazing, but the pork chops were way overcooked, tough, and dry. There was a mixup with my husbands order too and he ended up eating something different than what he ordered. The waitress later apologized and gave us a discount on the meal. But I feel it could have been handled better from the beginning. It should have immediately been an "I'm sorry. I forgot to mention we don't have raspberry sauce when you ordered." Instead of "We don't have sauce. We haven't had sauce in the two years I've worked here." Because, as someone from out of town, I have no way of knowing that a menu item isn't as listed. read more

Where to begin.... overall HORRIBLE experience that ended with me leaving without food an hour and a half later. It was moderately busy when we arrived but our group was in no rush and just looking to enjoy breakfast. So when it took 30 minutes to even be acknowledged after we were seated, we had no problem with it. When the waitress rushed my buddy i laughed it off and had no problem with it. Where this quest for 'fast tested my patience was when she gave us attitude for 'not letting them know we were military before we ordered'. Which i thought was weird but maybe it makes it easier in their computer system. But when ONE persons food came out of 3 order i got impatient. He casually ate his ENTIRE meal and 2 of us still havent even been updated as to where ours was. I wasted 2 hours in total to leave feeling disrespected and worst of all, hungry. We are currently sitting in the restaurant, with no food, and one coffee refill, after 45 minutes. It took 20 minutes to have someone take out order, and now going on 27 minutes for our food. There's no wait at the front, and the place is about 40% full. I've been here several times, with no problems. The waitresses seem more worried about their children who are here with them. Worst experience. Racist! Went there on Saturday May 15, 2021 for breakfast. Waitress was rude on approach to our table. She didn't introduce herself so I can't put her name. She started with and I quote "you ready?" Acted like taking our order was a bother. She was friendly to everyone else, and all the tables who came after us received their food while we waited for our order which never came. I don't think she ever put it in! The waitress didn't once come to check on us or give any update as to what was taking so long for our order to come. Of course we were the only minorities in there and based on the uncomfortable and unprofessional feel from the waitress we got out of there!! That is 30 minutes of waiting and filing a complaint with the manager who proceeded to make excuses for the waitress saying she was in training. My family and I frequent Jerry's quite often and I finally decided to write a review after being disappointed the past several times we have been there. We moved here about a year ago and loved Jerry's but the service has started falling short. They are always short on staff and cooks. I'm not sure if several people have quit but it's just not the friendly service that we grew to love. The food is usually good besides the wilted side salads. But the taste of food alone doesn't add up to being a great experience. We have started to feel like our business doesn't matter to them and that's why they let us sit for 20 minutes or more before they acknowledge that we are there and maybe they should take our order. It also doesn't help that one of the cooks was in a bad mood the last time we went. When I say bad mood I mean throwing spatulas, slamming down plates on the warmer area, and also what sounded like profanity being yelled. My hamburger steak that day was crunchy. We decided that day we would not be going back for awhile and in hopes that if we do go back that management and the service gets a whole lot better. read more

Stopped in by myself for what I was hoping would be a quick (or at least reasonable length of time) dinner. Sat at the bar with a front row seat to the train-wreck of a relationship between the kitchen and the wait staff. A whole lot of drama about some missing pancakes resulted in a waitress taking over in the kitchen for a cook that simply stormed off in frustration. Only after the disgruntled cook came back to the kitchen did they find my ticket hidden behind the print machine where it probably had been sitting for 30 minutes or so. I ordered a NY Strip medium rare with a side of fries (with cheese sauce) and soup. I received a side of over fried tortilla chips and cheese sauce, along with a well done paper-thin steak, fries, and vegetables and corn bread which I didn't order. The soup was ok and the Sprite tasted like Sprite. It took almost an hour to get my food. They did comp almost 75% of my bill due to the wait and confusion, but I'd rather have paid more and gotten the food I'd ordered in a reasonable amount of time. This place is asses and elbows. The shifts are literally like night and day. My night experience here has been very decent the two times I went, but I wanted to try the morning shift to confirm and here is my reasoning for two stars. My friend and I went in around 11am and ordered an egg, toast, and meat plate. We ordered wings and nachos as well because I am a self-proclaimed wing-Connoisseur. My bacon and eggs arrived about 15 minutes before my toast. I need toast to eat my egg so I waited patiently. My bacon was so crispy that it was turning into powder and it only came with two slices, I thought the menu had 4 slices listed as a "side of bacon." Regardless, the waitress brought me new bacon that was decent. Still waiting for my sourdough toast. My toast arrives and the top is black and also turning to powder when i touched it. Someone slapped about 1/3 cup of butter on top of the two slices. The waitress wouldn't make eye contact so I took it to the counter and got another order just the way i liked my toast (edible). My wings were slimy, rubbery, and mushy all at the same time (not to mention cold by the time I waited to eat 20 minute toast and eggs). The worst part is the batch had pieces of fries stuck to the batter. Normally this wouldn't bother me but 1.) my friend is allergic to potatoes, and 2.) how dirty is that fryer? Last big deal is that my friend had also ordered sourdough toast. Remember I said that my toast was 25 minutes late? Turned out that the original toast was actually white bread. How do I know? My remake was bigger, thicker, and had a sourdough taste. Unfortunately my friend is allergic to yeast and most sourdough bread doesn't have yeast. White bread does though. And when she ordered sourdough, they had actually brought her white bread (along with my burnt toast order which apparently had been white bread) and sure enough she was sick afterward. I was given a big discount for most of my food which is why I gave the extra star because I didn't have to pay for the nasty food and mistakes, nor did I have to throw a huge fit for them to make it right. Really bad food that day. I'm from a different town and went there just to try the breakfast because my evening experience had been decent at one time and I was hoping to have an amazing experience and rate 4 stars... but it really isn't worth going back. This place reminds me of a Black Bear restaurant and I found out it is owned by the company that owns Black Bear so the menu is similar. Great variety of American style food at great prices. The entire restaurant reeks of cigarettes, and every item I ordered on the menu was either spoiled, poorly prepared, or was of lousy quality. The lettuce in my salad was spoiled, my hard-boiled egg was rubbery, the "vegetables" that came with my dinner were obviously frozen vegetables in a bag which were over boiled, my husband's cottage cheese was spoiled, and my tomato was over ripe. Took my son there for breakfast on a Monday, mid morning - we waited for more than 30 minutes before we got to order and the waitress (Donna J C.) was the most inattentive waitress I've been served by in a long time. My coffee cup stayed empty, my son asked for water after finishing his chocolate milk - it never came, and she never stopped back at our table to ask how things were. It wasn't really that busy so it wasn't that... maybe 4 tables were occupied and a few people at the counter. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because my son devoured his strawberry and whipped cream topped pancakes and my omelet was decent. We were traveling from Reno to Las Vegas early in the morning and were looking for a breakfast place when we got to Fallon. As we drove down the street, we saw Jerry's restaurant with a large number of cars and trucks parked in front. We decided this was the place to eat. We were greeted warmly and the place had numerous locals in it. The staff seemed happy with their work and helped each other out. They were greeting and hugging the locals that were arriving to eat. I had an egg and pancake bfreakfast with hash browns. The hash browns were the best I have had. The eggs and pancakes were also very good. My wife just had pancakes and she loved them also. Excellent breakfast at a very low price. They have a large menu and are very flexible on substitutions. My wife didn't want the bacon that came with her pancakes, and they gave her a very nice slice of cantalope instead. Coffee and tea was constantly being refilled. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. I wish we lived nearby to go for another meal. read more

Date of visit: 1/3/2013 Wow. What a great find in the middle of the desert. My family and I were driving from California thru Nevada to Idaho and found this place in Fallon. Its not too far off of the freeway and definitely worth the trip for weary travelers. In fact, they have a plate called "the hungry traveler". This has a loooot of food! Too much for our caravan, but says to me that they are used to the desert road warrior crowd. This morning when were here they were apparently short staffed. The general manager was our waitress and apologized for the initial long wait. She was great, even if her help wasn't any benefit to her. Ill give it the benefit of the doubt as you could tell she was crazy busy but trying her best to be everywhere at once. We also had a decent sized group.... there were 8 of us. We had as variety of the breakfast foods from French toast to chicken fried steak. Once the order was taken, even with being super busy, it came out quick n hot. The table was filled with breakfast goodness and the biscuits and gravy were phenomenal. Its a great little joint. The interior is filled old timey signs. read more

We arrived at 1125am we were seated by 1130am we order food at 12pm food came out but no one was able to eat together because the food came out every 20 mins or longer and they did have fries ran out of hamburger buns.
