We have moved more than 20 times in the past 15 years, all over the Southeastern We have used all kinds of movers and moving help and most of them sucked. Jerry's Moving provided labor for us to unload a 26 ft and a 20 ft box truck in October 22 loaded with household contents. We paid for two movers for 3 hours. We were just going to have them unload as much as they could during that time, we were hopeful they would at least be able to get all the furniture unloaded. He sent three guys and they unloaded both trucks in just under 3 hours. They showed up on time and ready to work. We had to force them to take a break. These were not kids that he sent but grown men. They were all very respectful to us and our stuff. And it seemed like they all had done this work successfully for a long time. Not a single scratch on any walls, door jambs, furnishings, nowhere. But the truth in how good movers are is how they load the trucks. They did such a good job that a year later we had them come load those same two trucks and go from Knightdale to Clayton and unload us into our new house. Their loading skills were impeccable! They understand "high and tight" for sure! We are moving again this April back to Florida and just scheduled Jerry's Moving to come load the trucks. I booked this company for my loading process through the U-Haul app. Their work was beyond disappointing. the crew showed up tremendously late with me thinking they were attempting to cancel. 3 crew members showed up and were extremely unprofessional. One of the 3 members started eating out food that was set aside in the kitchen that was not his nor was offered up. they tasked us with buying them cigarettes while working, and we reluctantly did because we were at the mercy of their services and moving the next morning with No time to book new movers. We had about 10-15% of our items that were complete broken when we arrived to our new home and about 25% that was not broken but mangled, bent, damaged slightly, etc. I wouldn't book these guys for $20. Crew arrived over 2 hours late, immediately took a 45-minute break, and worked at an unacceptably slow pace. The job booked for 6 hours was left incomplete after multiple days. Many belongings were dropped, dragged, or gouged across floors, causing extensive and sometimes irreplaceable damage to furniture, flooring, and walls. Items were inexplicably taken apart, reassembled incorrectly, or left scattered throughout the new home. Crew was loud well past 10 p.m., discussing fistfights, and appeared unfit for work. A team member attempted to solicit double payment via CashApp despite all transactions being through U-Haul. Rental truck returned at 1 a.m. smelling strongly of smoke, inflating a $50 fee to $300. What should have been $600 for a single day ballooned into thousands in labor costs plus over $100K in damages, forcing us to hire another mover to finish the job and repair the harm done. I don't know where to start so here's a chronological order of why you should not use this company if you value your time or belongings. -Was not available for the time listed available on their website as they don't offer times that early. That's fine but take it off your auto scheduler. -movers showed up 1.5 hours late -movers took a 45 minute break after one hour of work for lunch, despite me providing them lunch and drinks -complained about the distance between pick up and drop off... despite being paid for their time and having the locations ahead of time -BROKE two of my dressers that are antique and expensive -strong cigarette odor lingering in house after they left -the owner called to say the movers had wrote down my payment code wrong so he needed it. That's fine. But he called me on a holiday while I was with my family. No biggie I can call him the next day to provide the code. He called be a few hours later again, on the same holiday. -I shared my concerns with the owner and had no response Use any other company. I used them through Uhaul who won't let customers review on Uhaul so they are standing with 4.5 star reviews. That's inaccurate by far. Go else where. read more

Jerry's moving crew caused significant damage to my possessions and did not respond after I indicated there was significant damage. Do not use them unless you want significant damage to your possessions. They were very careless in how they loaded and unloaded items and most of my wooden furniture has significant gouges or scratches. They put wood furniture on ends for no reason. They even threw a metal ladder on top of an expensive grill system and scratched and broke my grill. And for no reason at all put a medal jack on an expensive wooden chair and scratched and gouged the chair when there was room to put it on the floor. And the crew complained about the amount of furniture to move and the pay rate almost constantly even though it was a negotiated rate through uhaul. And in the middle of the move they took an extended break and did not meet us at the agreed time or place. I have used other moving crews without any of these issues. They did not show any concern or care for the items they were moving. I have thousands of dollars of damage because of them for possessions I value and care about. Jerry's moving was absolutely terrible. They showed up 30 minutes late with an asthmatic, all workers were over 50 and one bragged about having a felony. They required assistance with every item being moved and acted like they had never moved anything in their lives. They damaged my brand new carpet that is all of a month old and never offered to even have it cleaned. If you are looking for movers please do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere. They said they have over 1000 positive reviews but I can't imagine one. After looking into them more they have several small claims filed against them and carry no business insurance. read more

Very poor service. Jerry and his buddy LA showed up to move 2 large items for us. He told us not to go through U-Haul because he would honor their moving fee. BIG MISTAKE! Now we have no recourse to refund our fee. They were hired to move a long kitchen cabinet and a stone countertop. I explained that they were bulky and VERY HEAVY and even sent photos prior to them accepting the job. Jerry advised they would bring a hand truck and straps to assist them with handling the pieces. Jerry and LA are elderly and when I questioned if they were physically capable of lifting they said "no problem". They did not use a hand truck or moving straps and struggled with carrying the cabinet. They damaged both the cabinet and our walls because they couldn't hold onto the piece. Jerry offered to send his "crew" to move the stone countertop (2'x5') the next day to which we agreed. It's been over two weeks and they're refusing to return. Jerry now claims the countertop is a special item and that he should have charged us $170 extra to move it. I paid them in full, $140 for two hours of moving service, for a job that took them 30 minutes. Texts to him are answered with nasty replies. We're very reasonable people and feel we were taken advantage of. DO NOT USE JERRY'S MOVING and don't ever hire outside of the U-haul site as you'll have no recourse if there's a problem. My sister and brother-in-law hired Jerry's Moving to assist in moving 15 minutes down the road. All signs pointed to things looking great and having great movers assist us because he was very communicative, BUT we were fooled. The moving team never showed up. No one. We called multiple times, texted multiple times, nothing. No response. Finally, HOURS later, my sister texted and said, "do not bother coming." The owner texted back and said "damn." That's it. No apologies, no excuses, nothing. Completely inconsiderate for my sister who has two young kids and had to recruit me and our elderly parents to help. Beware. Wife ordered Movers on 5/14 for our move on 5/29. Movers did not show up at the agreed time. We called 20min later if they were running behind. Management informed us at that time of calling they did not have movers available. We lost 1.5 hour time on our expensive rental truck. Management just back to us TODAY(7/7) refusing a refund because new movers showed up 1.5 hours later and one load was done. We only had time for one trip with the truck because of the issue with the movers. Management is awful. Customer service is awful. Just used Jerry's Moving on Saturday for a local move from a 2 bedroom 2 story townhome to a 3 bedroom 2 story townhome. Jerry called me right away to discuss needs, confirm booking and kept great communication up until the day of the move. On the morning of the move, Jerry came by to personally greet me and introduce his 3 amazing crew members. They were punctual, courteous, professional and worked tirelessly and efficiently. Dennis, the seasoned lead crew member, kept everything organized and directed, making sure that nothing was damaged and no walls were scuffed. Couldn't ask for better, highly recommend! I scheduled Jerry's Movers for my move and I had to call Jerry (owner) 30 minutes after they were supposed to show up for him to tell me that he did not have movers for me. I informed him that I needed to get the U-Hall back by a certain time, and he said that he could see if he could get a team to me after they completed their current move, but no guarantees. My boyfriend and I ended up moving ourselves, and since Jerry "got someone to meet us at our new house" and they helped us for 30 minutes, he refuses to refund me for my move. I have called him and given him my information and he states he is "busy". I've been waiting 6 weeks to get refunded and now I can't get a hold of him. Moving 1 block away from a 2 bedroom 1000 sq. ft. townhouse to another most stuff just got stuck in garage I carried dryer down to truck myself they sat on stairs discussing it. Started moving at 9am and by 3:00 still not finished had to complete move myself. Would never recommend this company. Paid for 3 hours plus a piano move. Requested over and over that they make sure they load the heavy stuff first for the sake of time. After 3 hours, piano was not loaded and only ONE heavy piece was loaded. Had to pay for 2 more hours and they STILL didn't get it all loaded. Ended up having to unpack 1/3 of the truck in order to get the rest of the stuff on because is was packed so poorly at the end (and we are two 55+ women). I scheduled a packing of furniture. I was on a strict schedule as the weather had been bad in the area. They said they would arrive at noon. I got a call at 11:30 that they would arrive at 1:30. They did not arrive until 3:00 pm. With 2 hours of daylight left and in the country, they had to move my furniture in the dark. One of container keys is missing. It probably got dropped in the dark. The men brought no moving supplies and I was not told that. They arrived in a car. I hired 3 men and 2 of them worked extremely hard, so I felt obligated to give them a tip. The other did absolutely nothing and I assisted with the move myself. I had to take lamps outside for them to see how to load. It was a disaster. Some of my pictures did not get loaded. They needed water and medicine to continue and even told me if I wanted to hire them again to let them know. That will not be happening. They were nice, but I do not care about nice, I care about getting what I am paying for. I was glad when they left. I was at a house that I have not lived in for the past 4 years and was there for 13 hours. I did not get home until late and I still had to pack some things that they should have taken care of. Very disappointed. Two Movers for a one bedroom apartment. The move should have taken less than 2 hours. The movers took their time loading and unloading my things into storage, well, cramming my things into the storage unit. While unpacking the unit I discovered many things broken and damaged. One mover was folding blankets and covers during the move before all my items were even unloaded off the truck. Oh, I forgot to mention they were more than an hour late arriving for the move. DO NOT HIRE IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS!! Summing it all up; Pick your packers/movers wisely I warn you CHOOSE SOMEONE ELSE. If stuff breaks Jerry is just going to blame everyone else and when those options run out he will start screening your calls and never return a one or own up to his mistakes. Hired Jerry's moving company to assist with the packing portion of my move to a different state. A few scratched walls, one deep scuff in a wall and 4 hours later most of my stuff was loaded in the trailer. Upon unloading I found many many many things damaged, boxes labeled fragile that were in the bottom of box piles, multiple unsalvageable book cases, my dinning room table was in two pieces because it was asked to carry well over two hundred pounds of oversized chair, 100 lb punching bag and two heavy pantry boxes on top of it. ONE ratchet strap wax used for the entire 28 foot trailer. The loading Jack was never secured in place and allowed for all sorts of shifting during transport. Every sinking room chair, nightstand, and other wood items were scratched, scuffed, or gouged because blankets were not appropriately used even though plenty were provided. Jerry was called immediately and he wanted to discuss it with the crew that loaded my trailer before concluding anything. TWO WEEKS later he finally calls me back despite me calling him after waiting three days, and to my surprise he denies any wrongdoing, a 40 min discussion comes to the conclusion that the loading Jack was never installed and once more Jerry cuts me off so he can ask his crew if this is true. I offered to send pictures if he would give me an email address but he denies. Here it is nearly two months after my move and I still have had no closure with Jerry and I have not heard from him in almost a month. I have called multiple times but it seems as if I am being pushed to voicemail. In conclusion: if you want a professional go elsewhere. You have been warned so when they break your stuff don't be surprised if you get blocked as a caller just like I have. read more

Just had Jerry's Moving out to help me move a heavy item in my home. Jerry and his team were prompt, friendly, and made the whole process a breeze. They were quick while taking care not to damage the item or my walls. I highly recommend Jerry... it's nice to work with honest, friendly, down-to-earth folks. He charged me for 3 men the entire time, except he was one of those three and he was only there to supervise and bring lunch. Considering the quote I received for a house move was reasonable I chose his services for a third and final time which was not a charm. I stated this move would be from one county to another approximately 63 miles away. He is also familiar with the items I had to move and gave me a quote of $500. So I went with that quote, the day of moving.. I had an 1860 two story house to move and two men showed up for the job, so I figured ok! Everyone should know that if there is a washing machine on the second floor you should use an appliance dolly....that did not happen, so my washing machine goes flying down the stairs slamming one of the movers into my wall which has now a hole from the impact. By the way the house I moved from was listed for sale by myself and I had a showing on that day. My washing machine is a Samsung front loader which is extremely heavy so you can imagine the damage it caused to the mover as well as my wall that I have to repair in order to sell my house. I advised the guys to call Jerry to explain the situation but he was more concerned about the truck rental that was scheduled for only 4 hours!!! The move started at 8:30am and ended at 10:00pm, why because it takes more than two skinny guys to move an 1860 square foot house. The movers were not able to fit all of my belongings so I had to make more trips on my own. Since the move took so long Jerry charges me $75 an hour for the overtime....REALLY! Expensive items were broken sheets were ripped( king size) and as I unpack I notice my Beats Headset is now missing. Jerry decides to negotiate my wall repair and take off $100 for the damage which at this point wAs a movers estimate, my carpet was dragged throughout the move so now I have to repair that to sell my home. At the end of the night In I felt sorry for the movers who were getting paid $75 for the day...not worth the job..I would quit and my total move cost me $750 I even tipped the guys $25 a piece even after ruining my front loader, my wall, my stairs and my carpet. I will NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. IF YOU CHOOSE THIS ROUTE LIKE I DID WATCH YOUR BELONGINGS AND TAKE INVENTORY BEFORE THEY LEAVE! I had a certified bank check and he prefers cash only. I had nothing but an exceptional experience with Jerry's Moving services. I booked them through U-Haul's moving help page and was truly impressed with their Customer Service. Jerry called me promptly after receiving my request through the website and we discussed details about the move, including the time for movers to show up. They did have another move the morning that I needed them, but Jerry was more than honest in discussing the reality of what time they would be available. The night before the move, Jerry called me (although it was late and I did not answer) to confirm the details of the move. We connected early the next morning and Jerry assured me that his crew would keep me posted on the progress of the first move so that I wouldn't be standing around waiting on them. They did exactly that! They called me twice to update me on their expected time (which was only about 30 minutes late). To "make up" for the time lost, Jerry even sent an additional crew member. I expected it to take about an hour or more to wrap ALL my furniture, move it from a second floor apartment and load it into the truck. These guys had it done in 30 minutes. They hustled and worked like a well oiled machine. They took care of my belongings and were beyond polite. All in all, their fees are great, Jerry is a reasonable person who accommodates his clients, and the crew who moved me provided exceptional service.
