If I could rate less than 1 star, I would. Completely unprofessional to charge a ridiculous amount to move from Oxford NC to Durham NC. This company arrived in a U-HAUL truck not a company truck. We contracted 3 men but only 2 men showed up to work. The truck was way too small to load all of the furniture and now they are refusing to return to pick up the additional items. They have been paid the contracted amount but we are complete unsatisfied and we will report them to the BBB. BEWARE! Horrible customer service and completely unprofessional. DO NOT USE! I beg the differ about a great reputation. People please read their reviews. I'm glad you can sleep at night believing that reimbursing my parents $218.69, the same amount it cost them to rent a U-Haul and move all of the remaining items themselves because your company failed to do the job correct. Sir be honest charging $900 to move from Oxford to Burlington is absurd especially using a UHaul truck not a company truck. You know that your company took advantage of their naiveness. I just hope people are reading your reviews before they ever decide to book with your company. People beware! read more

Redi-Care Movers - "Professional" Ugh no! - Movers Near Me - Durham, North Carolina

We rented a UHaul and planned to have friends help us move on Saturday 1/7, but due to the forecast of snow, we didn't want to risk waiting. So, we picked up the UHaul on 1/6 and started packing, but since it was just my husband, son and myself, we couldn't lift the "heavy" items, especially since my husband broke his hand, which was in cast. I called several different companies to see if they had a couple of guys that could help (last minute). We were unsuccessful, in fact, one company price gouged so much that we could have moved cross country! Then, I came across Redi-Care Movers. The receptionist said that she would need to call me back and was going to work on getting help for us. After a couple of calls back and forth, we were able to get 2 guys to come at 1:30pm (this was all confirmed at about 12:15). Then, Desi and Mike showed up. They were professional, friendly and got the job done efficiently. They moved the items so quickly, we couldn't keep up! On one of the worst days of my life, they were able to make me laugh! I cannot tell you how thankful I am for them, they saved us! In addition, while talking to the receptionist and another young lady - everyone, was so kind and friendly and wanted to help us. Honestly, I had low expectations since this was last minute and we were desperate. Our experience was just the opposite! I cannot say enough good things about our experience. We will certainly use them in the future! read more

It's unfortunate that the only other review for Redi-Care on Yelp is a one-star, because this is an outstanding company that I would recommend to anyone. We first used Redi-Care to move from the Raleigh-Durham area to the New York City Metro area in 2010. Since they were already moving another family up there, they let our belongings ride along for an AMAZING deal! They were early to our place, tagged all of our belongings, and moved everything quickly and efficiently. Unlike most moving companies that take 5+ days to get to your destination on an interstate move, the Redi-Care guys were up there the next afternoon to meet me! Again, they were efficient, friendly, and courteous with the move into our new place (which was a third-floor walkup and a major pain to move furniture up). Due to their care of wrapping and packing the items, not one of our items was damaged. A year and a half later in the winter of 2011, we moved back to Raleigh to pursue new jobs. The moving companies in the Northeast were cut-throat, over-priced, and rude. We called Redi-Care and they were quite the opposite! They remembered us from the last move, gave us the best deal we could find, and were willing to drive the truck all they way from NC to pick us up! On this second move, Kenard and his crew (at pickup) and Ron and his crew (at dropoff) were incredibly friendly, courteous, and efficient. Again, nothing was damaged at all. If we ever need to move again (which I hope we don't!) we would definitely use them again! read more

Every time I move I call them!!! I have been using their services for the past 5 years and even when there is a issue they resolve things quickly and I really appreciate them for that!!!! Very nice company that I trust when I'm moving and will refer all my friends and family whenever they need movers. read more

I requested a quote online, had it confirmed by the secretary, had my move scheduled, and then didn't receive the confirmation email from them for a few days. I followed up today (3 days before we had discussed pickup) and the secretary transferred me to the owner. He said they couldn't do the move for the price quoted and that he was sorry that no one contacted me letting me know. He was pleasant on the phone. But now I have 3 days to try and find someone else to move all my stuff. read more

I have used this company twice and will on our next move. Their prices are the best out there. I called several others that quoted well over $500 for a one bedroom. These guys came in way under, the office staff was so friendly and responsive. The movers were late, which we were notified about, as the movie prior required they wear booties. So they had to be extra careful not to hurt themselves or the furniture. When they arrived, my husband jokingly asked them to put booties on. Without flinching, the guy said "sure no problem." Thanks Redi-Care! read more

I don't normally post reviews but felt I had to this time. We hired this mover to move us from Apex to Durham. We had a small house. First they were supposed to start a 9:00am and they showed up at 9:15, not a big deal except the lead guy tried to have us sign that they started at 9:00 and at $160 per hour that is a lot of money. He had such an attitude with us as well. We had decided to go with 3 movers instead of 2 which was more per hour. One of the guys was constantly on his phone not working and then they even had pizza delivered, again while we were paying them $160 p/hr. Biggest issue is they damaged several items of ours and we cannot get the company to respond to take care of the items. It's been over 3 months since the move and they have not returned one phone call. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! read more

My recent move actually was going smoothly until one of the movers dropped our bed's headboard into our nightstand (breaking both pieces). This was around $1500 worth of furniture purchased just weeks beforehand. A few minutes after the pieces broke (for some reason no one would admit to this until I brought it up) Redi-Care admitted to be at fault. We were told it would all be taken care of soon enough. At the time I thought I was glad I paid extra for their "full value insurance". After pressing for a week or two about the next steps in claiming the damage, the owner of Redi-Care as well as an internal claims person came out to see the broken items. I was told at that point that within a few days we'd have an answer as to how to move forward. It took weeks to hear back even with many calls trying to find out about the next steps. These were all unreturned. Finally, after reaching the Redi-Care owner, we were told that Redi-Care was just going to buy us the furniture that was broken. We were also offered a cash settlement as an alternative -- it sounded intriguing until we were offered less than 1/2 of the total price to reorder the furniture. After politely saying "no thanks" we all agreed that Redi-Care would buy the furniture. A few weeks later, after (again) multiple unreturned phone calls I finally reached the owner again, asking the status of ordering the furniture. He said that they're going to use some third party insurance company to handle the claim and that they should have already gotten in touch with me. He said he'd call the next day with the information. I didn't hear back. I finally reached the owner a few days later to get the information (notice a pattern of poor communication with Redi-Care??) That is where we are now. Three months and our claim was finally submitted to a third-party insurance company. There is absolutely no reason for that to happen. Who knows how long from now we have to wait to finally have our furniture in working order. Lastly, I want to note that not only did so many of my calls go unreturned (see above) but every single time I called the owner was not in/in a meeting. Of course, when I sounded a little serious he was somehow there right away to take the call. In the end, 2/3 of the movers did a decent job and one guy screwed up (and didn't say anything until I pointed out about what had happened). The worst part of the move though was dealing with the company/owner afterwards -- it took three full months to take one small step. read more

I have used Redi-Care Movers twice for moves from Carrboro to Chapel Hill and from Winston-Salem to Asheville. Both times, the movers were very professional. They wrapped everything. They laid down blankets so they wouldn't scratch the floors. They were courteous and hard working. They showed us the weigh bills from the weigh stations to ensure that we understood the overages. They also actually got out of the truck to make sure that they weigh station didn't include them on the bill, which saved some money. We have friends that used Redi-Care as well for a local Winston-Salem move and they love them as well. I would highly recommend Redi-Care. They are very consistent, reliable, honest and trustworthy. That is our experience. read more

I had never used movers before, so I was a little nervous, but I cannot say enough good things about this company. About a week before my move, I found out it had to be delayed due to the apartment community, and Redi-Care changed me to a later date, no problem, and no extra fee. They called me the day before the confirm the job, and then since we hadn't given them the number of boxes we had (it was a LOT) they called the morning of to see how many it might be. They suggested I have three guys come instead of two because of the amount of things, and since I had already been wondering about that, I agreed. While the price was more for three guys, they finished well before the estimated time for 2 guys, so it evened out! The movers were professional and did their best to keep smiles on their faces! They did a great job wrapping up our furniture and everything made it to my new place in great shape. Their prices were also extremely reasonable. I highly recommend this company for your move! read more

Used this company to move us on Sunday, 9-30-18. We had to be out of our storage unit by 5 pm or we faced another month of rent. The two movers took extra care with our property and had us out of the storage unit and into our home in three hours. Great job! Amazing price as well. I recommend this company. read more

I hired Redi-Care to move my apartment from Durham to Morrisville, and can't say enough positive things about them. They were on time, fast, professional, careful, etc.. Everything you would want in a moving company. The service cost exactly what was quoted, and they have very competitive prices. I would recommend them to anyone moving in the Durham area. Excellent communication with office staff for set-up as well. read more

This for me was a horrible experience. I confirmed my move with someone a female (other than the female I was accustomed to talking to) and they said that I did not confirm the move by giving them my move from and move to address but I did. It turns out I was told I talked to the grand daughter but it resulted in me not moving on the scheduled date. Only one out of the 3 men that came worked, they broke my dresser and are currently being really slow with my claim. They took numerous breaks and Robert the "Dispatcher" was rude, not considering the fact that they did not move me on the scheduled date, nor did they come at 8 a.m. the next day as promised. He kept shouting to me "I can assure you they will NOT BE THERE AT 8 am. WHO does that? Why would you assure a customer of the yet again broken schedule not being adhered to rather than try to make things right? read more

If you had ask me 10 years ago I would have given Ready Care movers 5+ stars but today is a much different story. I used them to move me into my home in 2008 and again to move me when I sold my home in 2018. I recently moved into another home in August of 2018. Sadly this was the worse moving job that I have ever had. My bedroom set which is almost new was ruined. There are large gashes in the furniture and huge holes in the back of my dresser. I had planned to use ready care movers for an out of state move but needless to say I have had a complete change of heart after seeing my furniture ruined. I gave them one start but if i could I would have given them 0 based on this move. read more

Amazingly, my move ended up being fine - it was not without issues, though. 1. The movers dropped one dresser but there was no damage to it. One of my boxes came in totally crushed and almost completely open, but my items were not damaged. The only casualty was my vacuum - they dropped it off the truck and the neck snapped off. 2. I was promised that my items would arrive on the day that I requested if I gave at least 2 weeks notice, but that did not happen. I gave over a month's notice and they got my items there two days later than I had asked for them. I was forced to pay for a hotel room since I had already booked my flights, and RediCare would not reimburse me for the hotel room. 3. I selected the ride along option (where your items are in the truck with another customer's items) and I witnessed my movers break a lamp and drop two bikes off the truck. The other customer will not be happy when they get their items, and I was shocked at the lack of care they took in unloading the items. Overall, it all ended up working out because both moves went quickly and I got my items where they needed to go, but I wouldn't use RediCare again and I would not recommend them to a friend. They did have a lower price than other movers, but you get what you pay for (and you may have to pay extra for a hotel room or a new lamp/vacuum cleaner/bike). read more

They stole earrings. Long story short and after many phone calls with them, they stole the earrings and won't pay us back. These guys also busted 1 wall, ripped the box frame, left our grandfather clock taken apart, and left about 4 pieces of furniture still wrapped. We asked them to stay, but these criminals were eager to get out of our house. In short, after a lot of time, phone calls, and emails, they still didn't work with us at all. I will make it my business to make sure you go out of business. read more

Redi Care Movers did an excelent job in moving me from Ellerbe to Angier, NC. All items we loaded timely and unloaded in a safe manner. I will be using them for my next move. read more

They were scheduled to move furniture for me early January and had to postpone the move after the big storm. I had to wait three weeks. The movers did not carefully wrap and protect my furniture. My belongings arrived wet and destroyed. My bed beam was broken in half and the box springs were black and dirty. Although they have been trying to make things right, I've been sleeping on the floor with my three year old daughter for 3 weeks now, waiting for them to fix the bed. I do not recommend. read more

I can't say enough good things about these movers. I had some issues with my move so I actually ended up calling them 2 days before my actual move to schedule (not ideal) and the fit me into the schedule (picking up one day and dropping off the next) with an extremely reasonable quote, (the same or less than other moving companies). The secretary was super nice and helpful every time I called. Then the 2 movers they sent were really nice and extremely hardworking. They got everything out of my old apartment (on the second floor) in under 2 hours, and everything back into my new apartment (on the third floor) in under 2 hours as well! My quote was exactly what I paid because my stuff was underweight which was SO awesome! Not 1 thing was broken in this move and all my furniture was returned in the same condition they took it in which was amazing and says a lot about the care they put into their moving practices. They wrapped all the furniture in either shrink wrap or in those furniture blankets to keep them safe. I will say they were a bit late both days, but honestly I kind of expected it (human error and all) and everything went so well I don't care! I read so many negative reviews about moving/different moving companies and I was super stressed about it. I also had a pretty bad experience with another moving company (the one that was originally supposed to move me). But I am SO happy that I picked Redi-Care movers! They made my move easy & stress free. read more

The guys were professional, and really nice. This team took great care of my property. They moved me within the estimated time and for the estimated price. I would definitely trust them with any move in the future. Thank guys for making my move stress free and easy. read more

I received an online quote from RediCare movers on 11/19/12. That afternoon, I called them to let them know I found a cheaper quote with another company. Since then, I have received numerous phone calls and e-mails from them daily. I have spoken to Kimberly and Ronald 3 times, asking them to take me off their list. Ronald was rude and started arguing that I hadn't spoken to anyone because I filled out an online quote. When I told him I had spoken to Kimberly he stopped arguing. Less than an hour after I spoke to Ronald, I was e-mailed yet another quote from the "Customer Service" team. I'm geting ready to file a harassment claim with the BBB. read more

Beware, this is a terrible company! Redi-Care Movers is in the business of ripping their customers off; from taking forever to carry out their job to spike costs to providing sub-par, unprofessional services. Redi-Care Movers damaged items during our move, and I had to call and e-mail the company for over a year to get someone to follow-up which is unacceptable. After having to run down the company's owners for a year, I am still dealing with their dodging as they are avoiding taking full responsibility and compensating for the damaged items. I would not recommend Redi-Care Movers and their poor services. read more
