I love shopping at Jerry's. Their garden section is my favorite! They always have great in store deals & a decent paint selection.

When we lived in the area we would frequently come to Jerry's for our home Improvement needs rather than going to the national home improvement stores in the area. Their customer service was consistently superior while their prices and selection are very comparable. Jerry's started as a hardware and building supply store in the early 1960s. It grew to become a large home improvement store before the other large home improvement chains crept into the area. Jerry's added a second store in Springfield in 2003. We were in town for the holidays and decided to stop into the Springfield store on Christmas Eve. We now live in Nevada and hadn't been in the store for several years. WOW, if a home improvement store can be beautiful this store is beautiful! Immediately you notice the store is very well organized and the displays are attractive and neat. We wandered down to the bbq grill area and were really impressed with the wide selection of makes and models available and on display. Much more than you would see at the national home improvement chains. We were asked by several employees during our visit if we needed help and they were happy to take us to different parts of the store to find what we needed. We wish we had a Jerry's in Reno! Love, Love, Love that they give US Vets a discount unlike some of the other big box home improvement stores. Jerry's has never let me down when I am taking on a Home Improvement project. Needed a universal toilet repair kit and once again, Jerry's has come through. They had I think 8 different items fitting my needs ranging in prices. Really enjoy that Jerry's has always had a selection for me to peruse. I will definitely be back as I do like spending my $$$ with a local company where I am stimulating my local economy. read more

I came in here with an under sink plumbing redo and got a very knowledgeable associate who help me buy everything we needed. Also got help from the fixtures people getting parts for a faucet. Generally more knowledge and good attitude than the well known big box store. Don't live in Eugene area Anymore but would come here always if I did! read more

For construction and home improvement, Jerry's is my favorite place to shop. I have gone there for the last 20+ years and found that their service and selection are terrific. In the painful event that I have had to go to "Home Hell" (which is much closer) on Delta Hwy, It's a miracle to find someone to help at HD, let alone someone knowledgeable..... Jerry's employees are well trained in the locations and contents of their store and lumber yard. David in Hardware, Kathy at returns, Kevin in tools and Josh in windows and doors, Alaine at the project desk as well as Andrew in the Lumber yard are especially helpful. Unlike HD, people actually seek you out and offer to help and suggest work arounds in the rare instance that they don't have what I want. Their drive through lumberyard and quick check out makes picking up a few things or a truck load easy. Jerry's return policy makes taking things back pretty painless especially when I have had it on a Card. I know they know that I'll spend that amount and more in their store. Deemed essential during the recent Covid scare, they were quick to provide for social distancing, cleanliness of the store and installation of Plexiglass shields at help desks and checkout. It's always a kick taking friends from out of state or out of the area to Jerrys for the experience. We have done many projects in their hometowns and they are quick to realize how and why it is so frustrating to buy elsewhere. read more

I love local businesses, and Jerry's is the best! I can always find what I need here. The employees are fantastic, even the Comfort Flow Heating sales representative. He's actually helped me find things before. Which I think is cool. Everyone is always willing to help, and they make sure you find exactly what you need. The store is clean, neat and well organized. The clearance section is awesome. I've made a hallway lighting fixture in my house for less than $10, found small bottles of discontinued paint colors, which are perfect for small craft projects for less than $1. They do some sort of incentive program for employees who help you, because they put stickers on the product you're buying once they've helped you find it. Which is kind of cool. Returns can be painful, but they are super cool about it. I bought some stuff for a project, but didn't end up needing it. So I went to return it. I had forgotten that I put it on my mom's credit card and not my own, and of course couldn't find the receipt. The guy doing returns was super cool about it. He tried looking for the receipt in their computer system, after I have him a vague time frame, and used my card to try to look it up too. It was finally found under mom's name, after like 15 minutes of looking. He was cool enough about it, that he was going to give me store credit if he couldn't locate it, citing he knew I was a regular customer and it was obvious I hadn't stolen it or anything like that. I appreciated his efforts and that he was willing to fix it because I am a regular customer. It's a store I've been going to for a long time and will definitely keep returning to for all my home improvement projects. read more

Like everyone else I have been doing a lot of shopping and have noticed that Jerry's is doing a bit of price gouging. In today's world I expect to see small price differences between retailors. Jerry's is pricing many of their items at more than twice the other home improvement stores. When I ask about this I am told "We price match our competitors". I, for one, am unwilling to check every single item and price with their competitor to get the best price. I would like to know that they are competitive if I choose to shop at the store. I have been a loyal customer to Jerry's for mor than 30 years. I am no longer loyal to Jerry's!! read more

The quality, selection, and prices at this store are unbeatable. In my mind, the only advantage of shopping at competitor stores is how you can look up their inventory online before you go. Jerry's has consistently friendly service, and employees seem to have sufficient knowledge about their departments to helpfully answer your questions. The newspaper ads make it easy to locate sale items, especially power tools. read more

First went to Home Depot to buy about $800 worth of tools, couldn't get any service help. So I purchase some small item and then they tried to make me go through their self checkout stands which I refuse to do because I think it Steals jobs. Went to Jerry's and Had Expert assistance in buying a air compressor and 4 nail guns and about 100 pounds of nails. Oh yeah they matched Home Depot Sale price. I guess if there's something negative to say. It would be there return policy. Instead of going through their own salesman to get reimbursement.they want me to do the process myself. We decided nine months ago, to get a full kitchen remodel. After shopping around. We decided to go with Jerry's. Due to the customer service we received from Tricia, on all the planning. We decided the price was more than other bids but, we went with Jerry's plan, due to Tricia's customer service. That was the best part of the transaction. Then Jerry's sent Tim out from the kitchen planning department, who really didn't listen to our full needs on this remodel. We went back to Jerry's to finish the initial paperwork. We were told the job would be completed in February. Two days before the initial start date. We were informed that the cupboards were not built yet. We were told that it would be another month, before the demo would begin and the cupboards would be shipped. Here were waiting for another month for the remodel to begin. Took off the week that the cupboards were to arrive. The Friday before Monday's arrival. The cupboard supplier called and stated that they were 25% completed. We called Mike the manager of the Springfield OR location and explained what was going on. Within two hours we received a call from the supplier and we were back on Monday delivery. It's amazing how they could build 75% of the cupboards in two hours lol. Jerry's sent out Bear Mountain Electric Company, who came to our home without proper plugs and schematics on where new plugs needed to be installed. We called Mike the manager about all the issues. He never had Tim or himself call back to follow-up. Here we are two months and counting, waiting on completion of the whole kitchen remodel. Living out of boxes and paper plates etc. No known ETA as of yet on the electrical and or plumber waiting to install new dishwasher, still in box as of five months ago. Paid for total remodel up front back in August. It would be nice to get a response from Jerry's to see when we can get this kitchen remodel completed. read more

Well, sad day for myself and my husband. To those who are unaware, wearing a mask is not a law but is highly recommended and cannot be forced. Today my sister-in-law, who has problems wearing a mask, was bullied not by one but several staff members of Jerrys. She was told they were calling the police because she would not put her mask on. We can be arrested because we do not wear a mask, really? For those who choose not to wear a mask, LOWES and HOME DEPOT are not forcing you or kicking you out of their stores. While we love supporting locally business Jerrys has just lost ours. My hope is that they will choose to support those who wear mask and those who choose to wear masks. read more

Being a DIY(mostly) homeowner, I appreciate the knowledge level of the staff at Jerry's. The people in the department's know their stuff. In addition, the overall service is very good. I was just in their Springfield store this morning. I didn't have a choice even though I am self isolating. I was shocked to see no sign reminding people to social distance by 6 ft. I waited politely for the seed area to clear and right off someone tried to crowd me while it was my turn. I went back to the front to ask if they are reminding people to keep a 6 ft distance. She said yes but she never told me when I arrived. I asked people to please stand back while I was in aisle and not even the staff was stepping back unless I was rude and reminded them. At checkout they clerk was using Quak to spray the counter but that stuff is not a strong germ killer. Then, she wiped it off. It has to dry on its own. She made an error on my bill and removed my card without asking me to remove it myself. I feel like they were not being safe in there. I will not return any time soon. read more

Not going to lie - this was my favorite hardware store of all time. Miles ahead of any other I've ever been to. Which is why we drove 140 minutes to order doors for our remodel from them. Which is also why I am so very disappointed to be writing this review. Among 9 doors that we ordered from them was a double exterior door (see photo). We paid for a prehung system. We were told that the doors would be shipped separately due to the size. But that they would be prehung at the factory. (We paid extra for this). The rest of the doors were fine. But the double door frame was 3/4" inch too tall, and the doors were 3.5" too short. Additionally the doors were not prepped (no counter sink hinges, no hardware prep). It's been 5 weeks and Jerry's has been unable to provide a resolution. We're escalated the situation and eventually the door manufacturer sent someone out to measure. He was baffled at the complete failure on their part. Said he would quickly find a solution for us. But a week later and we haven't heard from them. We're now moving from calling once a day to twice. This is truly insane. No accountability or integrity on Jerry's part. I'm completely disgusted that I once thought so highly of them. I will update this if thing change. But I'm rather doubtful. read more

Just returned from my 2nd visit to Jerry's and WOW, what an amazing experience! I thought this level of service was long forgotten. The store was buzzing with friendly, helpful and KNOWLEDGEABLE employees (and happy customers). I needed a gallon of paint matched to my old bucket; there must have been 6 people working in paint alone. They were BUSY, but as promised, had my paint mixed and ready in 20 minutes! I can't even get the attention of an employee in 20 minutes at the national stores. At my local small-town store it takes a whole day to get color-matched paint. And the price was the same. Plenty of cashiers at the checkout; was checked out in 1 minute with no waiting. My prior visit was for building materials and they went out of their way to ensure I got exactly what I needed and quickly. Love their lumber pickup system too. They should develop a training program to teach other stores how to do retail right. Jerry's is my new favorite store and I can't wait for a need to go back there. read more

What a great place, went there yesterday to buy cedar to repair my porch. I wanted clear cedar went inside picked out some clear cedar boards from the finished inside rack. Wow one 2x6x8 foot board was 55 dollars. Took it up to the check out counter and the clerk said those our real experience have you checked out the tight knot cedar in the lumber yard. Had me set the stuff I picked out aside. Went to lumber yard saved a bunch. Thanks Jerry's Ps Home Depot would have never suggested anything. read more

As a former employee of the Eugene Jerry's all I can is that the Springfield store lacks everything from customer service skills, experienced staff and product options. Not once have I been greeted by an employee with any kind of smile. If you ask a question you either get a half filled answer, completely false information, or they don't know which is honestly the best out of the three. Of course that's if there is even an employee anywhere near their department. I live in the Hayden Bridge Area and choice to drive all the way to Eugene for assistance. No more customer service. So many lies. 3 people said they'd call me already the days are passing. Nobody returns the calls. They have no people skills anymore. Just lies when they do talk. "I'll make a work order for myself to call you on Monday" and it's already late Tuesday. Manager: "I'll call you Tuesday after reviewing with others about your complaint". It's already Tuesday afternoon. No call yet. I was told my screens would be done 5 days ago, stll no sign of them. I've gone in, no luck. lip service. They've said they will search for them and call me back. That was 4 days ago. I've tried to call and get to that department 2 times, and after being transferred nobody ever answers. How much time do you have to hear more? read more

I went to Jerry's to buy lumber (my first mistake) to make tables for my friends new bar/restaurant. They weren't going to be anything fancy so I picked up "kiln dried" 1"x6" fir boards to make these tables with. After making a few cuts I immediately questioned if this wood was still green, but proceeded to make the tables. A month after making around 6 tables they started warping and cracking through out every table. The wood was definitely not kiln dried and every table turned out terrible. Not only did I spend many hours making each table, but this project was done for a friend that I hold very close and I knew opening this restaurant was something he lived for. Not being able to come through and provide him with the product he needed for his restaurant was embarrassing. The tables still stand in his restaurant and he can't stand them. Im a licensed contractor and have many years of creating furniture; specially tables and desks. My husband has had an account with Jerrys since they opened years ago in Eugene, and yes Urban was there at the time. Since opening the Springfield store he is in there very often, maybe 2 or 3 times a day sometimes, the employees are so friendly and helpful, Urban, Susan, Michael, Fawn, Lonny, Kim, several in the lumber yard who I don't recall their names, always are so helpful and friendly. We were in the flooring dept late last night, Mckenzie was busy but asked for help , it was late and no one could get there for awhile, so we waited. Mckenzie went out of her way to get what we needed, smiling and seemed so willing to do what ever it took to make us happy. Thank you Jerry's for such great employees, and I have to also mention Barb is A/R, very helpful, always has time to help fix any problem and answers the phone when she isn't on it, she is the best. This place is as big, OK BIGGER, than Home depot and Lowes. It is a True Value hardware store. It competes price wise to make you indifferent to where you go to buy DIY materials. However the difference is: 1) Greater selection - they have HD and Lowes brands, plus a few more. 2) Greater inventory - less chance of having to wait for it to arrive (check out their door inventory) and here is the game changer... 3) More staff to help you! 4) If you haven't fainted with #3, they are ACTUALLY KNOWLEGABLE..whoa! We just left the Jerry's in Springfield and once again, I had a great experience. We stopped to look at the ceiling fans because in a few months we plan on purchasing a couple for our house. A smiling sales associate named Will came up and asked if we needed any help. We told him that we were just looking and did not plan on purchasing anything today. That didn't deter him. He gave us so much information regarding installation and whether or not we will need some extra installation accessories to convert our now dome light fixture to accommodate a ceiling fan. Chris, in Jerry's Plumbing Department, was such a great help yesterday, January 4, 2022. Our bedroom shower needed repairing and I thought maybe it's a simple fix. I was so lucky Chris was on duty. He found what I needed then walked me over to the department's computer and showed me a Youtube video on exactually how to make the repairs. Jerry's is *the* place to go for knowledgable service in Eugene/Springfield. I've tackled several projects that I thought were above my skill level with the help of the staff at Jerry's. I mean, I can use a hammer and screwdriver, but when it comes to more 'complicated' things (like rerouting electrical circuits or installing a bunch of expensive tile)... well, it's sure nice to have someone willing to talk you through all the steps and let you know what you need and don't need. My last purchase at Jerry's was a hot water heater. There were three options - one that was $209, one that was $309, and one that was $379. The top-priced one qualified for a local utility rebate ($25) and had a 12 year warranty. The others didn't qualify, and had 6 and 9 year warranties, respectively. Huh. Okay. So which one to get??? I explained to the guy who was helping me what I needed. His response was 'Hey, the best of these three is the one that's $379. But even after your utility rebate, it will take 25 years or so to recoup the purchase price difference through electricity savings.' He then explained to me that the parts that most often die on water heaters are actually easily replaceable on the brand they sell (anode rods and thermostats) and only cost a few bucks. Basically, he sold me on the $209 model because it was the best deal of the three. He set me up with the right miscellanious hardware, and then walked through the (relatively simple) install, telling me how to turn off the water main if it had a strange key system (it did), and how to easily drain/remove the old heater. Total cost $242.xx, and about an hour of my time on the install. I had been quoted between $700 and $900 for an installed unit from Home Depot. Yes, I think it is worth $500+ in savings for an hour of work, thank you. Their prices are competitive with the other big boxes, and for a lot of items, their selection is better. One thing to watch - their pricing model seems to be based on low prices for 'headline' materials items (like for example, 2x4s). They'll charge bargain-basement prices on these, but a little more for, say, nails. It seems like it all evens out for the total purchase and you end up paying just about the same whether you're at Jerry's, Home Depot, or Lowes. The Springfield Jerry's location has recently added a large clearance section out the doors by the lumber yard and there are some very nice deals in there on one-of-a-kind and discontinued stuff. Potentially offensive comment forthcoming (deal with it): It's probably horribly sexist of me, but if I see a younger girl working at Home Depot, it's a slam dunk that she will be dumber than a pallet of paving stones, and be absolutely worthless in answering my (usually not-too-technical) questions. It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother. At Jerry's, on the other hand, I've had girls who look all the world like they shouldn't know a thing about paint, or pesticide, or patio doors be extremely helpful and knowledgable. So, guys, put your manhood on the shelf for a minute and go ahead and ask one of the hotties in the paint department for help. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
