First I want to start by saying I am 100% Jamaican lived and was raised there for years and even now I visit Jamaica quite often my dad also has a Jamaican restaurant in Florida so I want you guys to understand that I know what I'm talking about. The food is good and the items are food we would sell in Jamaica but it would taste nothing like this food. This food truck doesn't use Jamaican seasonings which I use on the daily since every time I go to Jamaica I come back up with pounds of different seasonings it's impossible to taste like Jamaican food and to me to be Jamaican food if you are using American seasonings the patty is definitely one of the worst things on the menu DONT BUY I went often enough to try almost everything on the menu but my last time was when I went and it was this lady working and she was very rude I said I wanted oxitail then realized they recently made it so I can get 2 meat oxtail and chicken I said can I get it with the chicken she said next time you can get that then charged me without even asking if that's it which it wasn't even besides that she was just very rude. They don't sell curry goat which is HUGE in Jamaica and oxtail is only on the weekends which is the next HUGE dish in Jamaica. Washington needs a lot more Jamaican restaurants and food trucks because none of the ones we do have seems to be true authentic just came off the plane a week ago and wanted some Jamaican food then remembered I have no where to go so sad. Maybe I'll just have to open my own. I also was very supportive I posted I told a lot people about this place I even bought a group of 10 people with me before but that rude experience made me not want to support a business that didn't deserved it in the first place

Jerk An Tingz food truck was at Triceratops on Friday. It is expensive, but well worth the price. We had the sampler platter and the jerk chicken. I really enjoy the rice and beans, coleslaw, and plantains that come with the meat. I love the flavors. I'm so happy we get to have this food in the Lacey area. My friend got the french fried chicken and it looked very good.

Found this food truck by accident while wandering downtown Oly. I was very impressed with the jerk chicken plate. I almost never enjoy any type of coleslaw but this one I was in love with! The jerk chicken was very authentic. This food truck is definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I stopped by after hearing all the hype. We got the oxtails which were VERY good. Perfectly braised, finger lickin good. The jerk chicken was ok. A little dry IMO. I wish there was more of the slaw type side I got on my plate. I could eat that by the buckets! We're looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

If I could I'd give an extra star. Worth the price. The food is excellent. I will be getting ox tails every time now...the ox tails tender and slide off the bone. Seasoned perfectly. The plantains with rice and beans was perfect and the slaw is good too.

Excellent jerk chicken meal! Very flavorful. The sides were very complimentary as well.

Jerk Chicken with spicy sauce 10/10 every time.

I love this place I found this truck last year at the Strawberry Festival and I'm glad I can now eat it every day. 10/10

Taste of the Caribbean is a black- and woman- owned Jamaican restaurant in the Central District…read more (The Central District rocks as a source for minority owned ethnic foods.) Walking in, the layout suggests they are also a party/mini-concert/event space. Service is casual; we were told to sit anywhere. I should have boogied my way to the table. We happily browsed through the menu looking at the many choices, some very unfamiliar. Everything looks so good, and prices are reasonable. We need to return and be more adventurous next time. Our server was helpful, guiding portion size and optional sides. The Food: Jerk Chicken plate, add steamed veggie, $20 + $2 - 5 Stars True to the jerk seasoning, theirs is spicy, as it should be. I find it annoying when jerk seasoning isn't spicy enough. The seasoning tastes even spicier when I drink water, and the heat spreads. So good! I was also happy they use boned chicken, which is more flavorful. I asked about veggies, that is $2 extra. Oxtails plate, add rice & peas, $24 + $1 - 5 Stars With beefy stock, these oxtail pieces are well-seasoned and paired well with root vegetables. A small salad and the rice & peas are a good match to the oxtail. I enjoy seeing oxtails used in different recipes. Jamaican patty, $5 - 5 Stars These beef meat pies are freshly baked and arrived at our table smoking hot. We were happy that we ordered two, so we wouldn't have to share. Haha. Very delicious. Plantains, $8 - 5 Stars From the appetizers portion of the menu, these are perfectly fried, caramelized, with minimal blackened carcinogens. This plate was a particularly good batch.

Most Caribbean spots around Washington lean Jamaican, so finding a place doing proper Puerto Rican dishes felt special. The menu and quality reminded me of what you'd find back on the island, at least pre-pandemic. They had classics like chillo frito, mofongo, and pasteles, and it tasted like homemade small business cooking. Honestly, I thought it was even better than La Isla before the fire that shut that place down. A few pain points. It's far. The restaurant is south of Tacoma near I-5, so it's a bit of a drive whether you're coming from Seattle or even from the airport. It was also cash only when I went, though you could sit inside and eat. Last time I called it sounded like they were still mostly doing the to-go model and hadn't fully gone back to the way it used to operate. I haven't made the trip again yet, but it's still on my list. Also worth saying, after the pandemic when I moved to San Diego, I couldn't find an authentic Puerto Rican spot there either. That made me appreciate this place even more. After the Benito Super Bowl performance I'm definitely craving some Puerto Rican food again. Might have to make the drive soon.

The meats were tender (with the exception of the pork bits inside the rice). The food had a beautiful presentation with onion, green and red pepper slices on top of the meats.

When we arrived, there were a few tables occupied, and we were invited to seat ourselves. We chose a cozy booth near the kitchen. One thing to note: there are no physical menus; instead, you order and pay using QR codes at the table. We started with the aloo pies and, of course, couldn't pass up the jerk chicken. Everything arrived at once rather than in courses, but it didn't take away from the experience. Every dish was packed with flavor. The aloo pies had a taste reminiscent of samosas :: crispy on the outside with a warmly spiced filling :: and were served with a tangy chutney that complemented them perfectly. The jerk chicken was the standout. Tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned with warm, balanced spices :: it was easily the highlight of the meal. It came with rice and peas (beans), which were some of the best we've had, along with a simple green salad that surprised us with its freshness and bright citrus vinaigrette. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Pam, who was just as warm and welcoming as the food she prepares. She mentioned that they often have live music on weekends, which sounds like a great reason to return. I also noticed they offer an all-you-can-eat buffet on Wednesdays, and after this experience, I'm especially excited to come back and try more of the menu. If everything else is as good as what we had, we're already sold. Oh! I almost forgot :: my husband ordered a wonderful drink, the Trinidad Smash. One sip transported us to vacation mode, instantly! So good!
