Omg! So glad we finally tired this place. Got here right as the opened. Had our food in 5 min. I got the Kalua pig with Cabbage and my husband got the Loco Moco. Very good portion sizes. $36ish for that. You could very easily split a meal or get 4 meals out of these portions. When I tell you my car smells amazing right now... We sped home to try these. Wow! I am impressed! I haven't had good kalua since my college days at UW (they had the best kalua imo). I got the spicy Korean chicken combo with kalua. The chicken was a bit over cooked and dry at the edges but the flavor is so delicious. My first bit was the kalua which I was blown away but then after trying the chicken I keep going for the chicken more. Both are great but I think the chicken overpower the kalua a bit. The Mac salad was just okay. It had a bit of a sour taste? They're only open 3x a week so make sure to double check the hours before showing up. read more

Lovely, and then the sweet savory sauce around it melts in your mouth as you get to the juicy chicken. Perfect thickness. It's a perfect thing to go on a slider. Mid week sunny afternoon...why not try out some Hawaiian-Korean fusion? I had seen some chatter on Facebook about this place, which had me excited to try it out and saw on IG that they would be open for dinner. We were greeted at the window and placed our order with a young man that seemed a little new to the game. Went with the Spicy Korean Fried Chicken and the Chicken Katsu Curry. Took a little while to come out, but was hot and fresh. The good, the bad, and the ugly... Chicken Katsu Curry wasn't bad. The curry had a pretty good flavor to it. The chicken may have been slightly overcooked. Would have liked to have seen a little bit of a bigger portion of the curry for the price. A cabbage slaw or mac salad is offered as a side with each entree. We opted for the cabbage slaw to offset the carbs from the rice and freshen things up a bit. It was thinly sliced and crunchy, but the vinaigrette was a little lacking in flavor. The "Spicy" Korean Fried Chicken had a crispy coating, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit overcooked and hard to eat. The sauce had little to no heat as well as lacking any real flavor. They are currently located at the Lacey Food Truck Depot. Hours are available via their IG. The food truck depot has a gravel parking lot as well as outdoor and indoor tables, best enjoyed on nicer, warmer days. There is a play place for the children. It is also a venue for vendor markets from time to time. Overall, a little disappointing. Hoping they can make some improvements and maybe expand their offerings--as I did hear the cook in there talking about some ideas. The food was yummy, but my experience was less so. On a busy Friday, my order was mixed up, causing a significant delay. While I understand errors happen, my biggest issue, as a Hawaiian, was the single scoop of rice in the plate lunch. Plate lunches should come with more rice, and this small portion was unexpected and notable. When you factor in the cost, the value just isn't there. Because of this, I haven't returned. If you want value and reliably delicious Hawaiian style plates, the L&L in Lacey is a better choice. read more

Food was overall good, there may be better Hawaiian food spots in the PNW but these guys do it out of a truck an are local to the south sound and are a big step up from L&L. My wait time was a little long but it was also lunch rush so not unexpected. Would stop again if I'm out that way or going to the Night Market. read more

The Lacey food truck Depot has the best take out in the area. That's not opinion but simple fact. We've tried all the trucks and are supporters of all the businesses there. This was our first time going to BTM and I had some mixed feelings. Normally we go to another Hawaiian place in town, about the same distance from home. So we tried BTM for something different. I do have a legit preference that was off target. So I have a good and bad take. One, the rice is the best around, simple as that. Two, the Spam Masubi is perfect, as good as the one I got at Sugar Beach on Maui! Third, they have the best Mac salad of anywhere in the area! Now, I need to say that we went pretty late in their day, and a food truck is not a restaurant so the two things we wanted were sold out that day (after 530pm) we opted for the Beef and the Spicey chicken. The single complaint I had was that the BBQ sauce that was used was way, WAY too much! With BBQ I prefer a dry rub and BBQ sauce I can add. I didn't specify that so it's not the fault of BTM, I would be looking to Find out if that's just the way it Comes there, or if I could request how much is added; but it affected how much I enjoyed my meal and made a return visit dependent on as I said if the sauce amount is just a part of the dish or if it can be reduced. I can't say it affected my wanting to return, but it did affect when in their business day I'm likely to go back. I truly do recommend them, I would just advise asking about the sauces depending on what YOU enjoy. read more
