Omg! So glad we finally tired this place. Got here right as the opened. Had our food in 5 min. I got the Kalua pig with Cabbage and my husband got the Loco Moco. Very good portion sizes. $36ish for that. You could very easily split a meal or get 4 meals out of these portions. When I tell you my car smells amazing right now... We sped home to try these. I do not like pork... not one bit, did I get it?!? ABSOLUTELY I did and couldn't stop eating it!!! This was incredible. Even the husband tried mine and was like yours is better! And that's after he demolished his loco moco, which was also PERFECT. Go check them out immediately! So glad they are super close!

Probably the best pulled pork I've had in town. Everything was perfect. Fast and friendly service and convenient to take home. I will be back to try other things, after have the pork and cabbage a few more times.

Aaaaaloha! Love to try food trucks because it features the best comfort food. I tried the combination, large portion nicely done in bento style. I had the Korean chicken and the crunch. Lovely, and then the sweet savory sauce around it melts in your mouth as you get to the juicy chicken. Perfect thickness. It's a perfect thing to go on a slider. And the kahlua pig with its Smokey flavor, yawzaaa! I am saving for my breakfast . I think it will be great pairing for hawaiian rolls and a bit of Mayo. I had lunch and breakfast all in one meal but hey if you want to finish the whole thing in one go, go for it! And why not? It so Broke Da Mouth delicious.

Wow! I am impressed! I haven't had good kalua since my college days at UW (they had the best kalua imo). I got the spicy Korean chicken combo with kalua. The chicken was a bit over cooked and dry at the edges but the flavor is so delicious. My first bit was the kalua which I was blown away but then after trying the chicken I keep going for the chicken more. Both are great but I think the chicken overpower the kalua a bit. The Mac salad was just okay. It had a bit of a sour taste? They're only open 3x a week so make sure to double check the hours before showing up.

Mid week sunny afternoon...why not try out some Hawaiian-Korean fusion? I had seen some chatter on Facebook about this place, which had me excited to try it out and saw on IG that they would be open for dinner. We were greeted at the window and placed our order with a young man that seemed a little new to the game. Went with the Spicy Korean Fried Chicken and the Chicken Katsu Curry. Took a little while to come out, but was hot and fresh. The good, the bad, and the ugly... Chicken Katsu Curry wasn't bad. The curry had a pretty good flavor to it. The chicken may have been slightly overcooked. Would have liked to have seen a little bit of a bigger portion of the curry for the price. A cabbage slaw or mac salad is offered as a side with each entree. We opted for the cabbage slaw to offset the carbs from the rice and freshen things up a bit. It was thinly sliced and crunchy, but the vinaigrette was a little lacking in flavor. The "Spicy" Korean Fried Chicken had a crispy coating, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit overcooked and hard to eat. The sauce had little to no heat as well as lacking any real flavor. They are currently located at the Lacey Food Truck Depot. Hours are available via their IG. The food truck depot has a gravel parking lot as well as outdoor and indoor tables, best enjoyed on nicer, warmer days. There is a play place for the children. It is also a venue for vendor markets from time to time. Overall, a little disappointing. Hoping they can make some improvements and maybe expand their offerings--as I did hear the cook in there talking about some ideas. I would be willing to return and try other dishes, but will probably give them some time to make improvements.

Been wanting to stop by here for sometime. I came about 1:30 wasn't busy at all. I didn't have to wait long for my food either. I got the chicken I requested half spicy and half non, also had the Mac salad as my side. The chicken tasted good and was still crispy when I got home. The Mac salad had a little too much mayo for my liking but it was not bad. I will come back and try the other dishes.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

And service that is quick, efficient and helpful w/o being too superficial, hovering and always in your face. With regards to our visit, definitely that laid back island attitude. As for the food, ono grindz fo sure. Not all gourmet but will feed that need. As mentioned before, you order a meal and it comes with the standard grindz, like in Hawai'i. In my case, loco moco done right, with two burger patties, two eggs, and a side of Hawaiian mac, no extra charge. Kalua pork, with rice and a side of Hawaiian mac, no extra charge. Katsu chicken, with rice and side of Hawaiian mac, no extra charge. All seriously good grub yeah. Spam musubi, if you read my reviews, you know my musubi standards. This one definitely makes my good musubi list. The one thing I haven't run into in other places here in Washington that L&L offered, MALASADAS! Nice, fresh, warm, sugary, MALASADAS! Not the soulless impersonations offered up at the Asian buffets, or the fancy jelly filled exotic bakery types. Genuine, no frills, Hawaiian MALASADAS! It has been a minute since I've had one this good. Next time, this may be all I will be ordering. Regardless, L&L Hawaiian Barbecue will definitely get a return visit from this local boy.

The reason I gave it three stars despite all this is that the pork itself was just marvelous. It was moist and flavorful with the perfect amount of char. I ordered Hawaiian BBQ chicken with rice & mac salad. $10.95 and huge servings. There is self serve water on the bar & soda fridge to help yourself. The food is delicious & I will return to try the other items, but these are my observations & minor suggestions. Personally, I felt the rice was a little too mushy. The Mac salad could be a little sweeter like local Hawaiian style, and the BBQ chicken could use a little more teriyaki sauce. Just a bit dry from it being BBQ d on the grill. Just add a little more sauce would help soften & moisten the BBQ chicken. My daughter ordered the chicken Katsu, it was delicious, but it wasn't served with gravy on top or on the side like pictured here. It was served with a tiny condiment container of some type of sauce. Not enough sauce for the amount of Katsu chicken that was served.
