My experience with Jenson USA was extremely disappointing. I purchased a bike sold as new, but after having it inspected by my trusted local bike shop, I had serious concerns about the condition of several components and paid out of pocket to make it safe to ride. Instead of taking responsibility, Jenson USA repeatedly shifted the blame to SRAM rather than addressing my concerns. I expected accountability, especially for a potential safety issue. I have used Jenson USA for years. I have spent literally thousands of dollars with them. They used to be the best. Recently, I wanted to buy a Pivot Shuttle AMP'D and saw they were taking pre-orders for the bikes. I told them to hold one for me. About a month later, they contacted me and told me they had a shipment of bikes coming in three months. They then told me I had to give them a credit card number they would use to charge my credit card for the bike. I asked them why would they charge me now and then wait for three months to get the bike before sending it? They said, "Don't worry, the charge will 'falloff' the credit card after a week. I asked how does that work? I could not get an understandable answer. I asked to speak with the supervisor so I could better undersand what happens. No supervisor responded. The best I can tell is they were going to use my credit to finance the purchase of the bike from Pivot. I simply asked for an explanation and never received one that made sense. I was stuck with paying off a $10,000 charge on my credit card and waiting three months for a bike. Not acceptable. Fortunately, I found the bike at a local shop and bought it. Two days after buying the bike Jenson called and said they would put a hold on the bike and charge me when it shipped to me. Too late! Made me very uneasy to deal with them anymore. First time online bike purchase so assembly was fairly straightforward and it was supposed to come with the rear tire installed but no biggie. Ordered a mtb wheel from them. After 4 months, the freehub stopped disengaging when not pedaling. I followed their warranty process and after a week their was no resolution. They told me that its the busy season and they are busy with warranty claims, be patient. I responded that i was aware it was the busy season because everyone else is riding and I'm stuck waiting on warranty claim on clearly defective part so I had to buy another wheel if i wanted to ride my bike. They responded by telling me they understand and they have closed my claim. I didn't ask to close my claim, I still want the product that I ordered. Btw, they never denied my claim, just closed it. Bought a $850 bike and pedals on Jenson USA. I got an offer for a friend's bike a few days after making the purchase and requested to cancel my order with Jensen. Jensen customer service emailed me to explain that the shipping label had already been created and provided me with the number to call when I received my product to request a return label and ship it back. I received the package and called. I have not been able to get a hold of customer service. 4+ hours on hold and haven't reached a representative. They have an option to "press 1 and we will call you back when a representative is available." Haven't received a phone call. I live 2.5 hours from Riverside and I'm considering driving the brand new, still packaged bike back just to make sure they receive the return. I was more or less seduced by an amazing online deal for a model year end closeout on an all carbon fiber road bike, saving $1000 off its usual price (which BTW I researched to make sure it was a legit price). So against my better judgement, as in buy from a shop where you can test ride the bike first, I purchased it. I found their call-in "experts" were spot-on very helpful. They got me the right size and an extra price break. At least with my experience, I highly recommend calling Jenson before making any substantial online purchase from them. The packaging and shipping was very good. The bike arrived in excellent brand-new condition. My only beefs are that ZERO useful information was provided as to how assemble what was shipped (luckily I know a lot about bikes and am handy with google), and that its hydraulic brakes were not properly bled so I had to get that done myself. Bottom line is I love the bike, but definitively lesson learned on buying a bike online...it's a 100% gamble and fortunately I got sort-of lucky. read more

So normally I only leave reviews if the service is really great or really bad. This time it's the latter. I paid an extra 38 bux for overnight shipping on a Friday as there was only 3 options same day, standard, and overnight. I need pedals on Saturday to ride on Sunday. Well that never happened as its a Monday at time of writing this ups still hasnt even picked it up yet. I called said wtf bro, overnight means overnight at worst maybe on monday cuz i missed a cutoff on Friday. Now the guys was rude as shit to me said he could cancel the order and re ship it the cheap way or i could wait. To which my reply was ive waited 4 days for my "overnight" package i shouldn't have to wait for free yet one more day. He said well ypu should have picked same day if u wanted the stuff the next day which was Saturday, i said fuck this send me my shit and im not gunna use yous guys again. Such bs. Heads-up: If you are considering buying a bike from Jenson please also read Matt A.'s review regarding the "Inside scoop." I bought a very expensive bike that arrived with various defects: several scratches on the frame and fork, a cut in the dropper cable housing, spongy brakes, a bent brake rotor with some substance on it, a tire that was put on backwards, and a rear brake cable that hits the spokes. Jenson claimed the scratches were caused by shipment, which I believe is implausible. After being informed I would have to pay the return shipping costs, and being offered a $200 discount, I accepted the bike. After less than ten rides, the rear brake rotor detached from the bike when braking. The rotor detachment is VERY unusual and indicates that the bike was carelessly built, consistent with the brake cable hitting the spokes and the spongy brakes. It supports my feeling that the bike was previously ridden, as that would have further loosened any improperly installed rotor bolts. I submitted a warranty claim a month ago for the brake rotor and have yet to receive any meaningful response from Jenson. Jenson has not said when my claim will be processed or when the bike will be made rideable again. I have periodically emailed to check on the status and have repeatedly been given the run around in various ways (when I have received a response at all). Jenson appears to be trying to make the warranty claim as long and challenging a process as possible. Jenson's bad faith is further evidenced in that they claim to have submitted the claim to the hub manufacturer instead of the bike manufacturer, even though one of their reps admitted in an email that "the fault lies with Orbea [the bike manufacturer]." This does not make any sense and appears to be a way to further delay resolution. I have twice asked why the claim was not submitted to the bike manufacturer given its fault, and have received no response to that question. The manufacturer, Orbea, requires that I process the warranty claim through Jenson.... And naturally the warranty has a time limit, so needs to be submitted in a timely manner. Please avoid my mistake and don't buy a bike from Jenson. read more

I usually order bike parts from this place and shipping is pretty fast. I once had to price match a weird item and they did pretty much the next morning so that was cool of them. I'm looking to get into mountain biking and saw some great deals with them. One of the deals suggested I call them to get the "best" pricing which could be anything from gift cards to actually some amount off. While the deals were pretty great, it was such a slow process to get anything through with bike advisors. They are only available 8am to 4pm and the deals hinges on you ordering through them. So inevitably, if you're looking at some small batch bikes and want some time to think about it, you're kind of screwed. Someone could have bought it overnight or w/e while you're waiting for the advisor to get back to you. If they would just message me the coupon or whatever, that's fine but the insistence to talk and order through the phone is weird. Anyways, just a bit disappointed since I wanted to lock down a bike w/e back to the used market I go! Hmmm, their bike advisors aren't exactly the type you would want to talk to when getting started I think. They remind me of a lot of other bike shops where you have to know what you want. You can't come in unsure as they will give superficial answers which comes with a lot of uncertainties. Like, what would it mean if something is "too much bike" for an example. I know what it means but I could see it being difficult for someone new to the sports as much as it is to understand the difference in how adjusting a few mm will do to your bike fit. After a week, I called to check up and was told there must have been a mixup in the warehouse and my tires would ship the next day. Ordered complete MTB, Yeti SB140. Bike arrived with a chip in the frame, immediately notified customer service. They offered a $50 gift card which we declined and requested an exchange. They then offered a $150 gift card which we again declined and stated our desire to receive a replacement, this went unaddressed. A week's time passed and at this point we were instructed to submit a warranty claim. We did and it was denied, because they believed the damage occurred during shipping. We asked them to submit a claim with the shipper, they refused. Three weeks passed, asked again to exchange the bike which they again refused, now the bike is out of stock. Called customer service, they agreed to issue a partial refund for the maximum amount that they were willing, $250. Unfortunately, this business isn't trustworthy, they issued a refund for $50. Put an order in around 11am for shimano SP51 cable housing. Was in stock online and ethan told me it was also in stock. Told i would be arriving around 3pm and arrived at 3 pm from San Diego, a 3 hour, 150 mile round trip drive. Burned a tank of gas for them to tell me its not in stock. Ryland at the front also told me they had a guy sell them out and pickup 3 boxes shortly before i arrived. I asked for a time that the order was placed and he wouldnt show me. Jenson USA has zero customer service; they do not answer emails nor return messages left. They insist on using some Uber type delivery service without letting the customer know that some random dude in a broke down Camry might deliver your package, if you are lucky... Their auto response says they will respond within 48 hours; I'm four days in and nothing. the delivery service they use doesn't answer emails, chats and has no phone number on their website. Don't not buy from this company they'll take your money and getting a hold of someone is very difficult. I recently purchased an e-bike and I received it on 7/5/2024. The box was damaged sure it's not their fault but as I opened the box the bike was just inside the box with no protection there's only a thin sheet of styrofoam around the handle bar that's it. I took the bike out for my first ride on 7/8/2024 after the ride, I received an error code 199 on the Jumbotron and after the error code I now have a black line across the top left corner of the Jumbotron. I called them with no response but they replied in text a day later. I told them I'm still having the same problems it's been two days and I'm still waiting for a response. I ordered a rim online from Jenson USA and it had a manufacturing defect on the side wall. When I mentioned to the employee that they had sent me a bad rim his reply was,"doesn't surprise me." Apparently he's seen Jenson send bad rims to people before. So ok that's his attitude and from there it was all downhill, he was acting like it bugged him to bring the rim in and then wanted me to leave. Too cool for school was this kid so avoid this corporate store and it's minions. Go to your local family owned bike shop and ignore "BIG BRAND BIKE STORES" as they over price on pretty much everything and act like they care but don't...they fake it and the kid was being fake nice to me. Inside scoop here! If you plan on purchasing a bike through Jensons, you should know that "a expert" isn't building your bike. Their bike build team have little to no bike shop experience. I've seen bikes get sent to customers with; tires on wrong wheels, axles not fully tightened, stripped bolts, wrong components, brake rub, and defective forks/suspension. The box it came in, the bubble rap and the receipt all had the CORRECT measurement but the item was wrong. This is the second purchase I make and had the same problem.
