She said she goes to grease monkey, but I went to Jiffy Lube because they were closer to my home. I really really really wish I would've went to grease monkey. Half of the things I needed I didn't get at Jiffy Lube because the price was already 125 just for the oil change alone. But I needed an air filter and one of my headlights was out. It would've been an additional 70+ dollars for the air filter and the headlight in addition to the 125 I paid for the oil change. Had I gone to grease monkey not only would I have saved on the oil change, but I would've gotten my headlight done for free. That's what happened today. The headlight itself cost five dollars at Walmart and when I got to grease monkey since I had the part myself, they literally changed my headlight for free. I haven't been able to drive after dark for two weeks, but they have taken a huge relief off my shoulders. Not only that they topped off my fluids and zip tied my bumper which was falling down in one area. Again, all for free. I really really really wish I would've went to them sooner because Alex, who is amazing for an 18-year-old, and Cadence were super friendly and very informative. Actually, everyone was but I wouldn't have been able to remember all of their names lol but I specifically wanted to shout out Alex and Cadence. They have a return customer going forward, and I'll be sure to thank my cousin for the recommendation. I'll also kick myself for not listening sooner lol

This is a family business. Tom owns it, and his son works with him as the other mechanic. They are very happy to talk through what you need. They are very patient and not in a hurry to rush you out the door when you need to convey your problem. Trustworthy, as they were open that I didn't need pads, yet. It was unmistakable that I needed rotors. They called and said how much brake pad was left (enough), and asked uf I wanted them changed while they replaced rotors. I showed up unannounced as they opened at 0730 and my truck was done by 2 PM. I'm very pleased with their work. I love the truck. It has lots of mods, and I don't like trying out new mechanics who might screw things up. But, being new to Omaha, I need a good mechanic. Tom and his son are my new mechanics. I recommend you try them out. The building isn't much to look at, but the family running it makes up for it. They don't have a waiting room, but Tom actually drove one of his other customers home so he wouldn't be uncomfortable while his car was fixed. Now, that is customer service. Asked about schedule issues and if they can confidently do this job. But that was disregarded and started any way. Highly unprofessional place and strongly don't recommend bringing your car here if you love or care for your car. I have been lied to and disrespected. A nearby transmission shop was too busy and recommended nearby Car Tech to me for diagnosis (lights…read morewere flashing). I'd already been to a couple other places including dealerships - with each telling me my transmission was the problem and needed it rebuilt at the very least (costing between $4-6,000!!) I initially went to Car Tech but each time, the lights were not flashing where the diagnostic machine would be able to detect it. In the meantime, my car began having issues with starting. Took it to Car Tech, and it was the starter. While Shannon was fixing that, he also discovered the solenoid was also going bad. He fixed that at a fraction of the cost other shops quoted. Then I had a few other issues pop up and once again, Shannon fixed those quickly and didn't rake me over the coals with charges on doing it. Within a few weeks of having the Starter done, my car began not wanting to start again. Shannon stands behind his work. He told me to bring it back in. It wasn't the Starter. He spent the day, running all the electrical lines and discovered my wiring harness had been tampered with (maybe one of the other shops I had taken it to?? It clearly wasn't done by any animal). A new one was gonna run over $1000. Didn't make sense to do for me car and to be honest I just didn't have that kind of money. Shannon had Brandi (the other mechanic) find that part used and it was installed on my 2013 Impala. Ended up being what was actually causing the initial issue with my car to begin with -- the one that everyone else was wanting to charge me over $4k to put in a rebuilt transmission!! Obviously not needed!! Shannon saved me a crap ton of money that I just didn't have and fixed what was truly wrong with my car and didn't over charge me for it!! My car has been running like it did 8yr ago when I bought it!! Shannon does amazing work, turned his love for working on cars into a successful business that actually HELPS people while doing it!!! I'd give him a rating of 10 stars if this went up that high!! I took a stack of business cards and have been recommending Car Tech to everyone since then!!

The Only Honest Mechanic Left on Earth--And He's at AME Automotive…read more Are you sitting down? Because I'm about to blow your mind: honest mechanics still exist. And not just honest, but caring, skilled, and genuinely good people. If you're looking for "Bill and Al" at AME Automotive--congratulations, you've found automotive royalty. I've been taking my cars to Bill since I was 16. I'm 45 now, and AME is still my first (and only) call for anything with wheels. Why? Because Bill and Al are the kind of guys you wish you could clone and send into every shady shop in America. Their word actually means something, and a handshake from Bill is better than a notarized contract. "I got you, you and your family can trust me." And he means it. Honest pricing? Every time. No gimmicks? Never. Random "Oops, we broke something, you'll need a new $1,000 doodad" shenanigans? Absolutely not. Work done right the first time? Like clockwork. Bill does most of the work himself because he actually cares if your car runs perfectly. And then there's Al--the encyclopedia of auto parts, walking around quoting part numbers like some kind of gearhead savant. Ask him for a fan belt for an '08 Silverado and he'll say, "2x2 or 4x4?"--because, yes, those are two different belts, and Al's brain somehow holds that info. My whole family has trusted AME for decades. And they've earned that loyalty every single time. Quick story: Once, a helper (no longer there) parked my freshly detailed rims in the mud. I was frustrated but trying to let it go. Bill saw it, immediately apologized, and before I could even say a word, he said, "No payment. The labor, the parts, all on the house. I'm sorry this happened." He even offered to clean the car himself. WHO DOES THAT? Bill does. That's who. I realized while writing this that I haven't thanked Bill enough. So here it is: Bill, if you read this--THANK YOU. For your honesty, your integrity, your work ethic, and for running a business the right way. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my car, and you've earned every ounce of that trust. If you're tired of sketchy shops, extra charges, and "mystery repairs," bring your car to AME Automotive. You'll drive away thankful, every single time. -Bryan Hall
