I got a 2001 Chevy S10 with 93k miles on it a year before. Starting a new career in IT contracting, I figured it'd be a good idea to get my beloved little rustbucket looked at. This thing was, not just abused, but neglected for several years. Joe found every last problem with the motor. The sheer scope of issues with it that Joe managed to find and repair is insane. Thank goodness I had a nest egg saved up just for such an occasion. They invited me right over to the lift to see the problems with my own eyes. When I turned the truck in the next day, they were even kind enough to drive me home since I lived in Bellevue. Not just that, but when the truck was finally done after discovering even more issues (namely a timing chain so loose it's a wonder the truck ran at all, with the valves a full eighth of a rotation behind the crankshaft) and repairing them. It was held back for another day due to starting issues traced back to the timing sensor, something he insisted on eating the cost of due to how long it's been in service (about a week). After that they were happy to pick me up. The truck since then has been running like an absolute dream. I've driven 450 miles in the span of 3 days working all across Western Iowa/Eastern Nebraska, about a hundred miles out from the Omaha Metro at max. I cannot thank them enough for their incredible quality of service, mechanical and customer. I will not trust any other mechanic until I'm forced to stop going to Joe's.

I was pretty nervous to go to this guy due to seeing a lot of the bad reviews. After getting it in finally he called me several times to update me on what was going on with my car (very appreciated). He has answered all my calls and questions (which have been a lot) with out getting upset or frustrated. I saw a comment that said all the good reviews were his friend and to not believe them. I am not one of this guys friends and so far I have no complaints. I have read all of the reviews and in the case that I could have had the same situation (like my card not going through on their end and them wanting me to bring my own oil) seemed to have been resolved. He did not ask me to bring in my own oil and is now only taking cash or check, I'm guessing due to card reader errors. As of now I definitely recommend this place. Prices have been great too. He has not tried to take advantage of me (I am female) but I also have a big scary aunt who knows a lot about cars. In need of a mechanic. This guy is pretty good.

My first (and last) time trying West Center Auto and had a terrible experience. Dropped my car off…read morelast night near closing and let them know that I had just had a quick diagnostic on my car and the C1 was misfiring that I didn't have the correct tool to check. He didn't take down any of my information except a name and number, said they would call tomorrow... Odd but whatever, it should be a simple enough fix. At 1 pm the next day I still had not heard anything so I called the shop, spoke with Ed, he stated they had just begun diagnostics and would call back. Cool. About 2 hours later I thought this was getting a little long to still be looking at a spark plug and coil, so I called again for an update and Ed became extremely demeaning, mocked me about knowing what caused a misfire, was sarcastic and laughed out loud at my serious concerns at times. After I stated I wasn't sure I even wanted to work with them he yelled at me to come pick up my car and hung up on me. I called back immediately and asked to speak with the owner, Ed laughed and said, "Oh if you think I'm bad, you don't want to talk to Terry, the manager! I'm the nice one compared to him!" I eventually got Terry and recapped what had happened so far with his shop, he offered no apology and just asked if I wanted them to fixed the car or not? I was appalled by the behavior of both this completely unhinged employee Ed and an owner who clearly does not care about customer service. Avoid this shop like the plague, they are absolutely awful people and mechanics all around. Especially if you are a woman, they are clearly discriminatory here as I'm sure there is no way that Ed would condescend a male in that manner. Just atrocious, your company doesn't belong in a nice town like Omaha.
