Took my 2007 vw Jetta diesel in here. I am new to the Omaha area so I was really looking for a good mechanic. I am one of those people who is very cautious of who I like to touch my car. I was pretty nervous to go to this guy due to seeing a lot of the bad reviews. After getting it in finally he called me several times to update me on what was going on with my car (very appreciated). He has answered all my calls and questions (which have been a lot) with out getting upset or frustrated. I saw a comment that said all the good reviews were his friend and to not believe them. I am not one of this guys friends and so far I have no complaints. I have read all of the reviews and in the case that I could have had the same situation (like my card not going through on their end and them wanting me to bring my own oil) seemed to have been resolved. He did not ask me to bring in my own oil and is now only taking cash or check, I'm guessing due to card reader errors. As of now I definitely recommend this place. Prices have been great too. He has not tried to take advantage of me (I am female) but I also have a big scary aunt who knows a lot about cars. In need of a mechanic. This guy is pretty good. read more

If you own an import model automobile and you've needed to have it repaired, then you are acutely aware of the racket that is getting automotive service at the dealership. For example, the fuel door cable broke on my Honda Civic. It's the cable that opens to gas tank door when you pull the lever in the car. Without it, you can't put gas in your car. Without gas, cars are useless. The dealership told me that I was looking at $400 to replace the cable. Denny at Corky's did it for less than half of that, and a week earlier than the dealership would have been able to get the part in. I love this place, and I highly recommend their service. read more

Perfect service is here! I've had my car fixed twice here and every time they will go out of their way to correct broken details on the house. I had my starter replaced and needed a new tire. These were all taken care, plus the changed some broken lights I was unaware of and sanded down the edges of the wheel axle area because I told them I had difficulty removing the wheel. Service is fast and my car was ready in under 24 hours. I wouldn't expect this every time, but I bet it happens quite often. These guys are experts! Get your VW or Audi's fixed here! read more

My girlfriend took her 1989 Volkswagen Jetta here to have four struts replaced. New to Omaha, I wasn't sure where to take an old Volkswagen for repair. After a quick Google search I came across Corky's Garage. The reviews on Yelp and Google seemed favorable, so I told her to take her car here. When she took her car in Monday to have an initial inspection done, they told her she was low on oil and asked if she brought any with her because they didn't have any. What kind of repair shop asks people to bring their own oil in? This should have been the first red flag, but I let it slide. They also said she had a badly worn tire. She just got four new tires less than 10,000 miles ago. Corky's quote for parts and labor was actually a bit higher than some other quotes she had gotten, but I figured that based on the reviews, the quality of the work justified the higher quote. She went to Tires Plus the next day and had the tire replaced that they said was worn with a brand new tire. She dropped the car off today to have the work done. When she picked her car up, she was told that her card was declined. She checked her bank account balance on her phone and it very clearly showed a charge going through from Corky's Garage for the amount of her bill. After this charge she still had over a thousand dollars in her account. They refused to release her car, even after she showed them on her phone that the charge had clearly gone through and cleared her account. They said they need to hold the car as collateral until the charge shows as approved on their end, which can take several business days. So she's left without a car. They also said that she "really needed" to change that worn tire because she hadn't yet. The worn tire was replaced literally less than 24 hours before with a brand new tire. Either they didn't even bother to look and see if she'd replaced it, or they don't know what a new tire looks like (I'm going to assume the former). She wasn't even allowed to drive the car to check the quality of the work before she paid and they refused to release her car. Sketchy, to say the least. No mechanic I've ever been to has acted as strangely as the guy at Corky's. I'm very disappointed. The reviews on Yelp and Google were so positive that I thought I had found my new mechanic in Omaha. After the experience she has had, I won't let them touch any of my cars. Even if the quality of their mechanical work is great, their customer service is garbage. read more

I found Corky's on Yelp last year when my son's VW GTI needed major repairs. Mike was very knowledgeable about VWs. Since we wanted to space the repairs out over time for financial reasons, Mike completed only what had to be done to get the car going and advised us on what could wait. We are completely satisfied with all his work, always timely, courteous and thorough! Corky's is the only place we will take our VW now! read more

The guys who run this shop are super nice and super honest. I've been bringing my Jetta there for about 5 years and don't have a single complaint. After having Firestone do a "tune-up" and come up with $1800 worth of work that needed to be done on my car, I brought it to Corky's with the list. Corky found a legitimate $200 repair and said that the rest was bogus. Thank you! I had to sign up for Yelp just to Review Mike's excellent service. I own a 2011 vw cc. I did a serious number on my axle hitting a curb and nursed it over to mikes on a tuesday morning. He had it repaired by Wednesday afternoon so that I could drive to Kansas City and catch a flight that night.. did I mention what he charged me was more than fair? Great mechanic. read more

I recently dropped off a 2006 Jetta TDI and had the timing belt and water pump replaced as well as the oil changed. Mike, the guy that runs the place, was very cordial and professional to deal with. The price was more than fair and the work was excellent. I did bring my own parts, filter, and oil. He didn't flinch at this. Additionally, the work was performed ahead of his quoted time to be done. Of note, if you pull up to the site when the shop is closed, you will think the place has not had a tenant in years. But, when the doors open during business hours (8am to 5pm, M-F) the place is very neatly organized and clean for a shop. I will be taking my VWs here for all future required services and would highly recommend him to anyone else with a VW. read more

If you have a VW, Corky's is the place to go. Mike is a great mechanic, honest, affordable and timely. Four qualities that neither of the VW dealerships in town possess. I've been jerked around by Stan Olson and Performance VW. I was at the point where i considered selling my car because there was no place in town that i didn't feel completely ripped off when i took my car in for service. That is until i found Corky. The dealership wanted to charge me $1,400 to replace the rear drive shaft, Mike was able to do it for $400. Thank God for these guys! read more

I love Corky's! I took my old as dirt Passat into Corky's when the timing belt decided it was time for a break and took the valves down with it. The local VW dealer quoted me an insanely high price to fix the car. Which didn't surprise me really because they've screwed me every which way I let them ever since moving here. Corky's was more than fair and did a great job rebuilding the mess. They had the car forever but in the end, I was glad for the time they spent on it. Brought my 1989 MK2 VW Jetta into Corky's to replace all four struts, and was told one of my tires had a bubble in it. I replaced it immediately, and brought it back in for Corky's to work on my suspension. The estimate to replace everything was just as much or more expensive than other dealerships or maintenance repair shops, but since they have experience working on Volkswagens I decided to let them work on it. When I came back to pick up my Jetta he never broke down the expense report to show me what exactly I was paying for, and it was more than what I was quoted. To top it all off he didn't believe I got the tire replaced. I still gave him my card to pay, and it was declined. However, my bank account shows I paid Corky's import auto service in Omaha. Even after showing him it went through on my account I was declined to drive out with my car. I'm positive I was overcharged and treated like an idiot because I am a female in my 20's.
