Absolutely do not recommend. I had a really great experience here the first time I went with my past car years ago, and it s close to me so when I need something quick, it's my first thought. However, almost every time since then, I have been way over quoted and felt scammed. I had enough points for an oil change, and they told me "No, it's different now", even though the website and my points page said I had enough for a free one. Recently, I took my car in for some issues, and they gave me a paper with the code it supposedly pulled. I was basically told that I need to get a new car (which they recommended a place that they work with and will 'look at the new car for you'), or their repairs will cost $4k+. I eventually got a second and third opinion after no luck looking for a new car. Turns out, my car is NOT pulling the code they gave me, and better yet, my specific car should never pull that code, and the parts they said I needed were only $300.... so where does the $4k+ come from? They also quoted me over $700 for new rotors, which I ended up going to Grease Monkey for where they gave me a discount for waiting (which I did not need because I didn't mind) and it was only $350. I do not recommend this place if you are a woman and alone, or at least bring a man with you so they take you seriously, which you should never have to do. They will scam you and bleed you of your money or send you into a spiral thinking you have to shell out for a new vehicle. Do NOT go here! There are plenty of better options out there that won't scam you or make you feel defeated enough to spend thousands on repairs you supposedly need. read more

the brake line between the 2 rear tires rotted out! I picked Omaha Car Care because it was locally owned! huge mistake thinking just because they were local they'd be honest and treat me respectfully! WRONG! instead I towed my car to their shop on Monday! Tuesday they called me and said they didn't have time even though they told me Monday before I towed it that they could get right on it! then Wednesday they started telling me the brake pedal won't tighten back up and ge thinks now I need a master cylinder, but they would try to bleed the brakes by putting my car on a hoist and let gravity do the work, which makes no sense because it makes no difference if it up on the lift or on the ground! i felt like they were treating me like I'm stupid! now we r on day 4 Thursday and i call again it's I think u need a new master cylinder! do I took a dear friend and man whonis a mechanic up there with me! they argued with him about the master cylinder and he asked to see the car! they wouldnt let him but assured us they would try to bleed the brakes again like he requested! we left and amazingly 30 minutes later I get a call we got it fixed! u can cone get ur car! I HATE A CARE REPAIR SHOP THAT TREATS AND TRYS TO STEAL FROM WOMAN JUST BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY CAN TREAT Us LIKE WE R STUPID! I will NEVER take my car to Omaha Car Care for anything! The staff is always friendly and forthright with their services. I was charged $700 to replace my two front rotors and brake pads. I was told $309 for the pads. They told me I needed my front two front rotors replaced. That brought my total to $700. I understand labor but i feel that price was absolutely off. read more

I recently took my car to Omaha Car Care to have the brakes serviced. A complete waste of time. I knew ahead of time that the right front brake caliper was seized and I didn't need to waste time driving to the facility and leaving it there for the day only to be told what I already knew. Apparently, they can't order British parts from nationally-recognized vendors like Rock Auto (e.g., https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/mg,1978,mgb) so they couldn't help me...??? Oh, I guess if I buy the parts, they can install for me...??? What if I forget a small "dimbly-widget" that they don't discover until half way into the job -- are they going to wait until I source the part and have my vehicle occupy their stall for several days until it arrives? Spent nearly $2,200 on repairs; it car was back in the shop less than a month later. The vehicle is admittedly old, though a heads up the repairs would ultimately be useless the first time around would have been helpful. After seeing it a month later, they all of a sudden were concerned with the cost of repairs not being worth it... too little too late, I really could have used that info earlier. They also charged for the diagnostics, which stung a bit, considering the amount I dropped less than a month earlier. Fast service and friendly folk, but pricey and their communication not the best. I decided to give Omaha Car Care a go when I began to smell gas every time I drove my truck. I booked an appointment online and got the call the next business day to confirm my appointment. I took my truck in this morning and they gave me a loaner to drive to work and told me they would be in contact when they knew the situation. To make a long story short, they called to let me know what was wrong and what it would cost. They also advised me that there could be additional problems with my fuel system when they actually started the work and would let me know as soon as they could. A couple of hours later, I got a call that said my vehicle was done!! These guys have my business from now on, with no upselling and total honesty. I can't believe how well my truck ran when I picked it up to drive home. Will definitely recommend them to friends as well as using them as my mechanic from now on. A belated RAVE review! Retirees and old RVs... In June 2016 , while driving CA to MN in a 1999 (but new to us), 34' Windsport , the AC QUIT just as we were coming across NE ...92 degrees outside! Hubby drove and I YELPED for help. Within minutes of msging, Aaron replied and we drove direct to Omaha Car Care off I-80 and 84th. Dave and Travis were prompt and professional in every way-appearance, communication, and thoroughness. Waited 45 min in their comfy waiting room until diagnosis and parts dictated that the job couldn't be done immediately. They sent for the LOANER which we kept 2 days. THEN when the $14 part couldn't be acquired soon enough, they CALLED AHEAD to MN so the part would be waiting! I am a little slow to get to this, but we came to Omaha from Bakersfield last year for the granddaughter's wedding. Our Dodge diesel pickup needed an oil change and did not know where to go being a visitor to Omaha. I chose Omaha Car Care based on reviews. What a great choice. I called and was told to bring the truck in. They got right on it, suggested a really great burger joint and loaned me a car to get there. Wow! I went to Omaha Car Care for the first times for an oil changes, get fluids checked, and a couple of light bulbs replaced and that was done on Monday. But on Saturday car started leaking oil and I panicked. It was on a day they weren't opened but I posted absent an email to the company. Well someone called me on Saturday evening with concern and told me to please bring my car back on Monday to be checked. If you don't mind waiting several hours for something as simple as an oil change even with an appointment, don't mind dealing with employees who lack basic customer service skills, and also don't mind having to check over all the work performed to make sure it was actually done and that an employee hasn't damaged parts they put on your car or the car itself I would highly recommend this place. Otherwise, read on and be warned, DO NOT GO TO HOUSE OF MUFFLERS AND BRAKES! I got the oil changed in my car at this store, and last night noticed a couple oil drips in the garage. I started looking around and noticed that the filter was dented in and there was a small crack leaking oil. It also appeared that the filter was dented in the direction of it coming off, so to me that says it was never changed, which really bothers me because I had to pay extra for a "special" filter with the oil change. The car was about 2 quarts of oil low, so a pretty significant amount had leaked out and is now covering the side and bottom of the engine and components surrounding it. I got to the store around 7 this morning to have them take a look, and had to wait a few minutes for Dave, the manager, to show up to look at it. He did agree that it was damaged by an employee and offered to replace the filter at no charge. I was happy with the transaction up to that point. What I'm not happy with is that I also asked if he could get the oil changed this morning, and I offered to pay for the oil thinking that since House of Mufflers and Brakes had made a pretty significant mistake when I had my oil changed that I would only have to pay cost for the oil. The car takes 0w40 full synthetic oil, which he didn't have in stock, so he called to get some. He told me the price of the oil was $13.xx. I knew that was a ways out of line considering that I had just bought 2 quarts at Wal-Mart to fill the oil up to get the store for $6.97 a quart, and Wal-Mart also has a 5 quart jug of the oil for $24.97 (see link). I asked why it was so much knowing I could get it for half the cost myself, and he offered to take $3 per quart off, but I would have to pay for the filter, so essentially I wasn't saving anything. I then asked if since he couldn't offer me any better discount on the oil, even though I was there as a result of his employee's mistake, if I could go buy the oil myself quick and have them use it. He told me I could not. I was not there trying to get something free. I was there trying to get a mistake corrected. I thought my offer to pay for the oil was very fair, and I shouldn't have had to pay over $50 in mark-up on oil. I would think that customer service and keeping customers happy would be more of a priority, but apparently it is not. I really just can't believe that after making a mistake that could potentially cost thousands of dollars to fix that House of Mufflers and Brakes wouldn't even replace my oil at cost or let me bring in my own oil. The best remedy I could get was to replace the $15 filter that they had damaged, and as far as I could tell never replaced to begin with. I had been content with the services I had done to my vehicles at House of Mufflers and Brakes until today. I have had 2 oil changes, a tire rotation, new front brakes, and a brake system clean up on my Toyota Tundra, and one oil change in my Passat. After seeing the lack of service I did today, and knowing that House of Mufflers and Brakes employs people who will knowingly damage a part they are putting on a customers vehicle it is very unlikely that I will ever return there. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-0W-40-Advanced-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-5-Quart/23636902 Also, the last time I got an oil change I had an appointment at 1 pm. Last thing, and this is related to the cost of the oil. They mark up ALL parts they sell around 100%. The couple times I have been quoted a price for parts from here they are double what I could buy them for at any parts store, or even the dealer. So their labor might be slightly cheaper than a dealer for service, but watch out how much you are being charged for the parts. read more

Worst Place EVER! I'd give it 0 stars if I could. I went in with an exhaust issue and explained I thought it was the flex pipe. First they pulled my car in, didn't even put it on a lift to look at it and then came out 10 minutes later telling me the entire system needed to be replaced as it was rusted through and split at the seam and the fix would be $600. I don't know if it was because I was a woman and they thought they could take advantage but it was clear to me they didn't even look at my car. I then took it to Mad Hatter Mufflers off of 144th & Center. They were awesome, they took a look and what do you know... it was the flex pipe after all! The exhaust system was NOT rusted through and split at the seam-House of Mufflers had lied to me trying to get me to do a repair I didn't need. I highly recommend anyone thinking about going here to rethink their decision and suggest visiting Mad Hatter Mufflers instead; they were wonderful and most importantly HONEST! read more
