Went to the shop on Dodge and they did a great job; I came in for them to fix a flat and they went above and beyond in helping me figure out the root of the problem which was a busted tire, offered to help fix it the next day. I've taken a couple different vehicles to Buchanans for simple small things and always had great service. However, this most recent time was less than great. I took a car there to be inspected as this is the car I plan on getting for my teenage daughter to drive back and forth to college after taking it to a dealership I wanted a second opinion. I was told by Buchanans there wasnt anything at all wrong. When I know for sure the battery, battery terminals, fluids need flushed, and tires are needed at minimum. Very disheartening as this isn't a cheap service. $140 later for nothing. so frustrating because I thought I found an honest service station. read more

I stopped in this morning only because I needed to change my license plate and the screws were so rusted there was no way I was going to be able to do it. I felt slightly silly but what was I going to do? I chose this location because it's 4 blocks from work. I was helped immediately and was out of there in 10 minutes. They didn't charge me anything just wished me a good day. Excellent customer service in my opinion. I will definitely return for my next oil change or service needs. *update* Another Buchanan's win. So my car started making awful grinding noises and I thought to myself hmmm I just had my rear brakes done 3 weeks ago. Surely the brake place would have checked my front as well. Wrong! After I dropped my car off they called and confirmed that I indeed did need rotors and pads on the front. He quoted me about $55 more than I paid at the place up the street. I also expressed my frustration with the other locations lack of oversight in checking the front brakes. He told me over the phone he'd see what he could do to lower the price. About an hour and a half later I get a call saying they're done and he told me the cost which was now $20 cheaper than what I'd paid up the street. Awesome! They even vacuumed (where they could ) and wiped down the dashboard. I wish I had known about how great Buchanan's is sooner! read more

My entire family has been coming here for years when our cars need some fixin. The ace mechanics are trustworthy, fast and great with communication. Plus the garage is open till 11 p.m. on most days -- which is super convenient when you have a minor fix like a leaking tire or broken headlight. The only pitfall is that, like pretty much every other reputable garage in the city, the labor is not cheap. So expect great work but a hefty bill for bigger projects. Oh, and there's that little old fashioned convenience store with just a single self-serve soda machine and only a couple varieties of terrible coffee (plus cherry mash Twin Bings). Hit a pothole yesterday and ended up with a bulge in the sidewall of my front passenger tire. Was recommended by a friend to check this place out since she had previously had great service with them. Came in this morning around 8:15, gave me two quotes for tires, and I was able to choose the more affordable price. Waited in the gas station part of the shop while they worked on my car. The lady at the register was friendly and told me I could help myself to a fountain drink or coffee while I waited. Any staff member who walked by me said hello, and they were friendly. My tires were ordered, delivered to the shop, and put on my car within an hour. They put my car through their car wash, vacuumed the inside free of charged, and pulled my car up to the door. TALK ABOUT GREAT SERVICE! I highly recommend this place! Will be coming back here for any future car needs! read more

This review is 20+ years in the making. During an ice storm in 1997 or early 1998 I was in college at Creighton. Power was out for days, including to just about every business. I pulled into Bucky's at about 30th and Dodge where the power had just come back on a few minutes prior, and pumped gas. After pulling out my card died. Turned out due to power being out for days, water had mixed in with the gas. The station realized the problem after just a few drivers stopped and shut it down. But I had been one of the unlucky handful. I had to get my tank pumped out for $500+ at a different mechanic. Then I was directed to this location to get Bucky (or perhaps someone who worked for him) to pay me back the $500+. They could have said they didn't know there was an issue, and blew me off. I knew I wasn't good at arguing, so I brought my dad to help me. I was really worried I was about to get screwed. But they didn't. Bucky (or a really cherry, friendly, tall mechanic who worked for him) immediately pulled out a checkbook and reimbursed me in full and apologized. I have never had another business treat me as well as this place! I recently moved back to Omaha, and because of that experience, I go out of my way to always get my gas here, and get all my engine work done. They've always done an excellent job. And someone I worked with independently referred me to them as well, mentioning how fair and honest they are. I never feel overcharged either, or that I'm paying too much. Nebraska Medicine where I work also has chosen them to service our vehicles. And most nights this location is open to 11 p.m. It's awesome to drop your car off after work and be able to pick it up just a few hours later! They also keep one pump available for those who want full service, something you never see these days. read more
