Dr New has been my dentist for several years now. From my arrival in the office to any work I need done to the handling of my bill, everything is handled with professionalim and great care. There is virtually no wait time. Even when I arrive late, I am seen promptly and treated with the utmost respect. The office is clean and welcoming. The equipment looks modern and well kept. The office staff is friendly, courteous and very responsive. All of the dental hygienists that have done my cleanings have a gentle touch, are very friendly and leave my teeth feeling super clean. Dr New herself is fantastic. She has replaced a couple of my crowns. The process was smooth with better looking and fitting crowns. I love the email/text reminders, filling out pre-visit forms online, and the friendly and personal connection I have when I walk in that continues until I walk out. Hygienist Haleh is a force! She is amazing and a consummate professional. She has a great sense of humor, jokes, cajoles, and makes serious recommendations to improve my dental practices at home to for better check-ups with subsequent appointments. Dr. New always keeps it real, pulls no punches, yet always projects a positive attitude and professional opinion for next steps. I went to see Dr. Jennifer New because I was looking for a new dentist and she was highly recommended to me. I had recently been to see another dentist after my front tooth got bumped and they told me I needed a root canal and a cap otherwise my tooth would eventually change color. I was terrified to get a root canal since I've never had any major dental surgeries so I figured it wouldn't hurt to get a second opinion before undergoing major oral surgery and Dr. New told me that if the tooth was going to change colors it would have happened already and that a root canal was unnecessary if I wasn't in horrible pain (I wasn't) and even if I was in pain there were other options. I appreciate her honesty and am thrilled I don't have to get this major surgery. Also she was kind and patient and her office was warm and inviting. I highly recommend her! read more

Growing up, Dr Gulevich, Then Dr, Svedman as a young adult, he retired and I started at Gentle Dental. . except for Dr Glerum, a cast of dentist moved through on a regular rotation. Then for a couple of years I drifted through from dentist to dentist: from Dr Who to Dr No to Dr Dont-even-try-to-pronounce-just-say-Dr.A. After doing some research, through Delta, Health Grades, and Yelp, I made an appointment. 10 days later, today, I went for my initial check-up at Dr. Jennifer New DDS's office on Winchester near Williams. When I walked in, Alicia greeted me by name and said she'd be right with me. And, she was. The place has as good a vibe as a dentist's office can have. Good Feng Shui, for sure. Dr New, who was passing through, greeted me by name and welcomed me. As soon as I filled out the paperwork, Jessi came and got me (called me by my nickname) and then in a quick, professional, friendly and delicate manner x-rayed, cleaned and inspected my teeth. She has mastered of the art of conversation in a dentist chair, timing her questions with the an upcoming opportunity for me answer them-a vital skill. Then Dr. New came in and told me how it was. She is a breath of fresh air. She appraised the condition of my whole mouth, praised some of the earlier work by others, and reassured me that my concerns could be watched rather than acted upon: that is, I thought I needed work and she said she could but recommended, "let's wait and see." We loved her! It was the first dentist appointment for our 3 year old and we were worried because he was not very motivated to go. The doctor and everybody else working on that office made the whole experience so relaxed and easy. They explained everything to him very clearly and making it fun too, for example they let him choose the flavor of the toothpaste they would use to clean his teeth. They also have a room with toys where the kids can play at the beginning, until they get more used to the place and also the kids can choose a present when they leave. I paid almost 6 thousand dollars out of pocket for a new bridge with Dr New last year. Half of the front center tooth of the bridge just cracked off while biting into a banana. I called the office and their only concern is an apparent $194 balance that I was unaware of. There was absolutely zero concern, empathy, or suggestions. They got their money and apparently thats the only worry on their end. Alicia (the large angry middle aged woman at the front) continued to inform me that they do not guarantee their work unless I was consistently being checked by Dr New. I do not live in the bay area any longer but assumed a younger Doctor taking over such a well respected office would have had much better business practices. I have now thrown THOUSANDS away on crappy work by a greedy new dental office. Just be careful and aware that they DO NOT GUARANTEE THEIR WORK. read more

Great dentist. I was a patient for decades, going back to the days of Dr Carlson who sold the practice to Dr New. Service has always been great. Friendly and effective. Unfortunately my insurance recently changed to MetLife. BEWARE. Dr New told me she could accept this insurance but stupid me I didn't ask if she was "in-network". She isn't . She billed my insurance company for the small amount they cover for out of network providers and then billed me for the rest of her full list price. What normally would have cost a few hundred dollars and been paid 90% to 100% by insurance ended up costing me almost $2000 out of pocket. read more
