It's taken me a few years to be ready to write this, because the experience was so traumatic. Dr. Miller said I needed a filling on my last molar, bottom right. While filling, he applied so much pressure my jaw joint was wrenched. Afterwards at home, I had so much pain I went in to be checked. After a cursory check, I was prescribed an NSAID. The pain didn't go away - in my jaw joint, as well as the tooth and jawbone under the tooth. I called back, was prescribed more NSAID. Went back again, and Dr. Miller told me there was nothing wrong. With so much pain, went in again, and when I mentioned I saw a sign outside mentioning a TMJ specialist, and perhaps I should see that person, he said the TMJ specialist was himself. Looked pissed. More NSAIDs prescribed. This is a summary of several weeks - nearly 2 months of pain. Finally I went to another dentist. When told of my jaw pain, she used a bite wedge to protect my jaw joint during procedures. She immediately noted an infection deep in the pocket where the filling had been done. She prescribed a medication to flush the pocket. After no improvement she sent me to a specialist endodontist. The endodontist found the tooth had been cracked during the filling, and the bone infected. Also, she noted that the filling was UNDER my gumline, and stated that dentists are not supposed to work under the gumline. The tooth had to be extracted - as someone with lifelong excellent oral hygiene and good teeth, I cried - the infected bone scraped away, and a bone graft. I took the tooth home - see pic and note where the filling is. Randolph Miller took no responsibility. He & staff ghosted me when I brought this up in emails (lawyer said because they already knew that they were liable at that point). I went in to ask the perpetually grumpy receptionist for my dental records, and when I got home, I saw that ALL NOTES regarding the procedure in question were GONE. No joke. Jaw; thank goodness I had Kaiser. I saw a specialist and was prescribed physical therapy - and was again told that dentists use a bite wedge to protect the jaw. Dr. Miller never did; odd for a TMJ specialist. I called a dental malpractice attorney, who said it was a case worth pursuing, no payment to him until I was awarded damages payment. This was during Covid. Family members died. I had no bandwidth to pursue this case. I was demoralized, traumatized and in grief - and had to focus on taking care of my family and moving on. I wonder how many dentists get away with bad behavior because victims just don't have the bandwidth. Before this experience, I was fine with Dr. Miller. Of course we're fine when there is no big problem. Well, people show you who they really are when they're under pressure. Dr. Miller never reached out to proactively make things right - each contact during my weeks of pain was made by me, with the exception of his wife, Dr. Loreaux, who did reach out once. Seeing how Dr. Miller handled things (or really, didn't) when an unexpected problem arose spoke volumes regarding his character. He could have listened more, ***BELIEVED ME*** when I told him for weeks that something was wrong, investigated thoroughly. Maybe the tooth could've been saved. Maybe 2 months of pain could've been a week or two. Instead, he brusquely brushed me off, offended that I questioned his work, and stopped contact. What a coward. read more

My entire family and I have been coming to the Miller's office since I was literally, 10 years old, so it's safe to say this review is overdue ;). They feel like family to me and have done wonders for my bite :) I've gotten a variety of procedures done here - including, braces and getting my mouth guard / retainer made. Dr. Miller has a unique, functional / holistic approach to orthodontics - and evaluates how your bite affects / or is affected by factors such as posture, balance, bone structure, and behavior. He is also witty, calm, and kind and makes you feel so comfortable. His staff is also wonderful. read more

I had such a great experience here and looking forward to coming back. Tara worked with me over the phone continuously answering my questions. Ester was super kind and funny during my X-rays and Dr. Miller did a great job really informing about anything going on in a way I could actually understand. Overall had the best experience and thankful for this team! read more

Dr Miller is absolutely the best. He's witty, doesn't make you anxious, he's calm and kind. He does what's best for the patient . The office is modern and well maintained. We've been going to him for over 10 years. Dr Miller has great communication and bedside manners. However Tiffany could benefit some training to improve her communication skillls. She comes across rude and unempathetic. read more

I was recovering from a long-term illness when I wrote my first review, and I realize now my review was not very clear. So my apologies to Dr. Miller and anyone who was confused by my review. Please let me try again: If you have any hard to solve dental-related issue, such as TMJ, I'd highly recommend making the trip to see Dr. Miller even if he's far away. Dr. Miller has extraordinary visual-spatial and problem-solving skills. He will often discuss with you options for a long term or "holistic" solution to your problems instead of just a quick fix. I think unfortunately many of us are paying the price for quick, and ultimately temporary fixes. I am surprised that Dr. Miller did not choose to become an engineer, but his choice is your gain. Please at least see him for a second opinion if you can. read more

This is the best dentist office I have ever been to. Tara at the front desk/dental assistant was super kind and friendly. She was also very attentive to my scheduling needs as well as her work in the office. Dr. Miller was very kind as well. He noticed that i was nervous & had anxiety & made me feel better by the end of my consultation. Also shoutout to the doggie moose. He was a cutie. read more

I use to see Dr. Miller & Dr. Loriaux when I lived in the Bay Area. I have since relocated and have been unable to find a dentist and office as great as they were. I miss their kind, compassionate and non-pushy ways. This office truly cares for you and your dental hygiene. Story tine: Dr. Miller once told me, I do not need to remove my wisdom teeth as they are not crowding my teeth, impacted or causing any discomfort for me. Immediately after relocating both dentists I have gone to kept/keep asking when I want to get them removed. I finally (kindly) 'snapped' back asking why I would need to get them removed and the dentist stated, "because that is what you do." I then asked, do you have to remove them if they are not negatively effecting me? And he finally stated "no, just be sure to care for them as they collect more plaque and have less enamel." Anyway, I realized quickly Dr. Miller & Dr. Loriaux are there for you, not for the money. If you read this Dr. Miller & Dr. Loriaux, I miss you both greatly and might need to travel back to the Bay to schedule a cleaning sometime again in the future! I know the whole Warshawsky clan appreciates you and your office! read more

Dr. Miller is always fun to visit... even for a root canal. There's no-one I'd rather gave drilling my teeth than him! He's great with the kids, being a big kid himself. And he always asks about work, the family... who doesn't like to share stories? I hope your office isn't hurt by the response to COVID. I guess I'm happy to still be able to work in these strange times. I'll be happy to tell you about it when next we meet. read more

My dentist retired and I was looking for a new dentist. When I called, they only take referrals. Why do you need a referral to get your teeth cleaned and exrayed? Very selective in their patients and I guess I didn't make the cut. read more

I can not express in a review what a great dentist Dr. Miller is. He shares the practice with his wife. His father and brother also work in the same office. His staff and himself are very personal and make it fun to go to your appointment! As fun as going to the dentist can be at least! : ) I have been seeing him for some time now, at least 8 years. I have not a negative thing to say about him or his office! The front desk staff is also extremly friendly and they don't change faces ever day so you really get to know them and get an experience you just don't expect! Go visit him and you will not be disappointed in him or this review! read more

I came to Dr Miller, because I have sensitive teeth, and have too high a tolerance to pain medications. This creates a challenge when looking for someone that can treat my teeth, without making me regret going to the dentist. Dr Miller's practice is a family practice, with exceptional skills in oral care as well as their people skills. His wife, brother and father really go above and beyond to make you feel confident and comfortable in their hands. I trust Dr Miller, because he's earned it. As I mentioned earlier, pain is a factor for me. He performed a root canal on me, and because he was so attentive to pain management, I slept halfway into the whole procedure! Our whole family trust Dr Miller's practice, and we refer him highly to those looking for a Dentist that is highly skilled, caring, wants to get to know you,and has advanced treatment methods, (such as a laser treatment which I volunteered to be one of the first to be treated with). My wife and I have seen Dr Miller a very long time, and our two daughters (one of which is in a wheelchair) have been his patients their whole lives. Oh, and if any of you would like recommendations for a spa, I can give you quite a few. read more

I was recommended to Dr. Miller by my boyfriend after having a bad experience with my last dentist. For my first visit he really took the time to talk to me and explain different reasons for having TMJ as well as other alternative solutions. Very personable and very professional. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Top of the line professional office and staff. BEST dentist! read more

Doctor Miller is not just a dentist, but a doctor. I know you think it's obvious from his "DMD", but let me tell you it's made even more apparent once you're in the chair at an appointment. His bedside manner, knowledge, and results are what make Dr. Miller an amazing doctor. The teeth cleaning is great. I'm so relaxed I almost fell asleep during my last one! the hygienists are gentile and super friendly. I have had TMJ problems all my life. Mostly lock jaw and just general discomfort. I've gone through a ton of orthodontists and dentists all trying different methods and solutions. Dr. Miller made it plain and simple by giving me a great night guard and improving my air flow by adjusting my bite. I can tell he genuinely and personally cares about my well being because he's disappointed if I don't make progress. Dr. Miller goes above and beyond to explain to patients how and why things happen, and instead of putting a band aid on the situation, he corrects the actual issue. I'm so happy to have been referred here, and hope the same for anyone reading this! read more

Dr. Miller is awesome. My husband and I travel all the way from San Francisco to go to him. His office is bright, sunny and lacks that horrible dentist smell so many places have. He is friendly, courteous, and well-versed in all the current practices. He saved my smile and diagnosed my jaw condition that dentists had missed for the first time in 40+years. The only caveat I could add is that he is VERY businesslike while he is working on your teeth - he does expect you to chat with him. But you wouldn't expect your mechanic to talk to you constantly while he fixes your engine, would you? Bring headphones and music and let the master work. read more

Dr. Miller is highly skilled, compassionate, friendly and great with kids! My four daughters love him and look forward to their visits with him! We love his upbeat personality and is amazing sense of humor. He is a gifted person and we are so thankful he is our family dentist! The staff is amazing, always polite, friendly and organized! The office is away clean and sharp! read more

This review is for the entire staff and especially Elaine and Dr Randolph--I've been a patient for at least 18 years and have had crowns and fillings done... always perfection and they're great at keeping me chill. I had a traumatic experience with a dentist when I was very young and am absolutely phobic of the sounds and smells of dentist office let alone the fear of getting any work done. I can't express how careful and patient both Elaine the hygienist and Dr Randolph always are! Both have super senses of humor! My son experienced a sudden pain near back molars and he was seen promptly-- diagnosis food trapped between two molars that dentist carefully removed then showed my son a trick to remove such trapped particles on his own. Beautiful clean office with relaxing aquarium and I hardly hear anything read more

Dr. Miller is not a regular dentist. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, creative, skilled and open to alternatives. He saved my teen from failed orthodontist treatment. We got to him after going through 3 years of traditional orthodontic care, with butterfly expander and braces and while some teeth did come in there wasn't space for other teeth to come in. Traditional orthodontist offered either extraction of permanent teeth or another round of expander, head gear and braces. No guarantees. Dr. Miller put ALF in and a little over 2 years later the teeth are in, no pain or discomfort and a beautiful smile. Cost was pretty much the same as the long painful orthodontic version. I wish I knew about him earlier. I wish there would be more dentists doing this. When I asked our original dentist about ALF he said it was pseudo science, well, I wish he'd see my child now. Teeth in, no pain. This cannot be pseudo as it is physical. I can only recommend Dr. Miller. He is very busy. But he is very personal, pleasant and often calls me back in the evening on his way home. Over the past few years, he has seen us during break, vacation and always accommodated. His staff is super phenomenal. This dental clinic is very unique. read more

He came highly recommended by a couple of people. Initial impression was positive, the office staff seemed to be pleasant, cleaning was great and the doctor addressed my concerns. I thought I found someone I can trust. However, few things caught my attention -- they insisted that digital X-rays are inferior to the last century film X-rays (?!) I would challenge anyone to go and compare for themselves, not only digital have higher resolution and quality, they can be zoomed on and use just a fraction of the radiation of the conventional machines. He didn't think mercury filling were all that bad (?!) he was not concerned about significant inflammation around a broken root canal, that after educating myself I thought should have been stressed out as a immediate priority and lastly, when I was ready to do 2 implants (over $10,000 job) and had a question it took a week for them to get back to me and I left a message and sent E-mail. I got an E-mail reply and had follow up question, if you didn't guess it, it was another week... than another week... sorry, that is just not acceptable! Dr. Miller is the best dentist in the South Bay, I recommend him regularly to all my friends. I can say this with confidence as I've had ALOT of dental work done by an assortment of dentists. (I had 7 root canals by the time I was 26, and this was BEFORE I started playing hockey. Since I've been seeing Dr. Miller = no more root canals!) read more

Dr Miller is awesome. I've recommended him to like 6 people. Best dentist I've ever had.

Fantastic dentist. Kind, personable, low-intervention, great with kids. Terrible receptionist. She is sullen and not at all helpful. She can't answer questions and seems angry with you for asking. She asked me to send my xrays via email and then didn't have them ready for the doctor when I arrived, had trouble finding them, and then complained about how they were printing out. I asked her to send me an email with the next appt and she didn't do it. That is just some of the issues. Ridiculous policies. 72-hour cancellation!! and the weekends don't count. And they tell you that you cant leave a message. So, if you need to cancel a Monday appt, they want you to call the Tuesday before. And they don't answer the phone. So, what is someone supposed to do? read more

Dr. Miller is the best dentist I've ever had. He has been our family dentist for over 10 years. He is personable, keeps up with the state of the art and is highly skilled. He takes the time to get to know his patients and is concerned about their wellbeing, personally calling after hours to check up on them and is very flexible scheduling treatment when a patient is in pain. He did the orthodontia for our daughter and litterally transformed her smile. I highly recommend him to all our friends. read more

Dr. Miller, Dr. Loriaux, Alane and their team are THE best! My husband and I have been going to them for over 10 years. Not only is the quality of work excellent but they are so efficient and super nice people. I've had many urgent/emergency issues and they take me in the same day, like an hour later, even when their schedule is full. And then I'm fixed and outta there in an hour and still can return to work. Going to the dentist becomes such a low-stress experience with them. Can't say thank you enough! read more

Dr. Miller is an awesome dentist. And his hygienists and office staff are amazing as well. Dr. Miller has a great personality and jokes around with you to put you at your ease. He is concerned that your dental visit be as stress-free as possible. However, once he is working in your mouth, he is all business, which I really appreciate. Dr. Miller is very thorough and truly understands dentistry as well as jaw joint mechanics. My son had a jaw clicking issue related to his braces. Dr. Miller was able to diagnose the clicking issue as a misalignment and contacted our son's orthodontist. The orthodontist made some minor adjustments based on Dr. Miller's recommendation and now my son doesn't have the jaw clicking issue. We're very grateful for Dr. Miller's expertise. Another positive is Dr. Miller has been excellent at following up with us when we've had questions. He truly cares about his patients. Thank you Dr. Miller! read more

Dr. Miller is the kind of cross-trained doctor who understands how to identify problems that elude others and how to address them in ways that deal with the whole person. I highly recommend Dr. Miller for work with orthodontics. I have taken our 2 sons for consultations over several years and he does not try to sign you up just because you are in the office. I have been a patient of Dr. Miller & Loriaux's for many years and actually enjoy going to the dentists because of them. Dr. Miller is so incredibly intelligent you'll be amazed by just how smart he is! His sense of humor is awesome! You'll always get a great silly joke out of him! I call him whenever I have a dental or even a non dental-health question or emergency! And I do mean that literally! A weird rash or a terrible migraine! He's there as a friend & doctor to give me a recommendation! He has also helped when my migraines have hit and does some little magic & I'm felling better instantly after he's finished. I couldn't recommend them higher. Even though I have always had dental insurance seeing him, I know they could easily charge more for their superior services- And it would totally be warranted! The whole staff is awesome & you'll be lucky if you get a referral to their office as that's the only way they accept new patients-is from an internal referral from a current patient! They are a small practice who go over & beyond for their patients. Dr. Miller is the type of doctor who would come in to the office at 10pm on a Friday, if you had a severe emergency or were in pain. That's just the type of man & Doctor he is! I doubt you'd get that any other practice for that matter! Most dental offices require 48hr notice for cancellations, so that's not odd to require at least 48hrs. At the very least! It's small family practice! So if you don't give them courtesy of at least 48 hours, when they always have a very busy schedule (and people on their waiting lists to be seen!), it's somebody else who isn't being able to receive services because you couldn't call ahead of time to reschedule or cancel it would be a empty hole in their schedule! An hour is a big deal for a small family practice! Too many people wait last minute! It's rude! Thanks Dr. Miller, Loriaux & Staff. You guys exceed any dental practice within the Bay Area! read more

Dr. Miller, great dentist, personable and efficient. Professional staff from the receptionist to the hygienists. Great with kids.
