Today I decided to get some pampering for my feet. Pedicures are one of my favorite things to do. I have been bouncing around to find the best pedicure. I'm not opposed to paying more for a good one. I read good reviews about this place and decided to give it a go. I am sorry I did... This was the most unrelaxing pedicure I have ever received. It was rushed through from the start. I chose one of the higher end pedis. From the beginning you sit on a padded bench you, which wasn't comfortable at all. The guy doing my pedicure seemed bothered to be doing it. He was not careful when filling nails or cutting the cuticle. He cut me a few times. I asked for the extra skin to be cleaned out on the sides of my big toe out, he said he would but didn't. The sugar scrub was put on dry skin ouch!!! He rubbed it for 15 seconds and wiped it off. The sugar scrub is usually one of my favorite parts of a pedicure. Not this time! I'm going to have to get another one done somewhere else. If you are wanting a great or even good pedicure this isn't the place! I am so disappointed read more

My friend and I walked in on sunday afternoon 11/24. Both of us asked for pedicures, she wanted a gel manicure and I brought in fake nails to be glued on. Our pedicures came out very nicely done and my friends gel nails look AMAZING! But the lack of stars is due to the nail technician basically butchering my nails. She first off tells me that she has never applied fake nails (you know the glue on ones from the drug store) and asks me how it's done. I tell her all she has to do is size and glue them on. The first nail she attempts to apply is my pinky nail & she doesn't place it correctly. I'm taken away and kinda don't really know what to say. At this point she's actually going back and forth between my friend and I doing a little here and a little there to the both of us. While she's working on my friend I decide to help her out and size the nails. I didn't get to finish by the time she got back but she goes straight to applying the nails. A few of them are crooked and there are others that she dug in really deep under my cuticle but I guess that's on my for calling her out on my pinky nail that was really far off from the cuticle. Even though I had sized out the nails to fit each finger she tries to tell me she knows better and doesn't follow my instructions. Of course this is all being exchanged in a positive manner because she isn't being malicious about things and i'm just trying to be nice. But at this point it's clear that the nails are not applied correctly and there's absolutely no way to fix them so I ask her to take them off. My nails were soaked in acetone for anywhere between 20-30 minutes (two different sessions, similar to when removing gel, acrylic or dip powder nails) and Iended up with my nails peeling and chipping off over the next two days. Frankly, it was my mistake for allowing her to apply them all knowing it was her first time but in the end I think I was mostly frustrated because I was charged $25 for the application and removal of the fake nails, which is more than their basically manicure. The nail tecnitian is good at what she knows, i'll give her that. But outside of that I'm highly disappointed in the service I received. read more

Do yourself a favor & SKIP THIS PLACE. I never write bad reviews. This is a FIRST & it was BAD. I called to see if I could make an appointment for a gel pedi & dip mani (however I was open to all gel.l) The woman on the phone (possibly Mary?) said she only had time for one service. I thanked her so much & told her I would take whatever she had time for at 4:45.. A man rushed in at 5pm (looking flustered & super unfriendly). He asked me what service I needed. I told him I needed a mani & pedi, but was told they only had time for one service. He said he would start on my mani & told me that the color I picked was not available in dip. I told him I had decided on gel after all & it was fine. I was very friendly & kind the entire time. There seemed to be lots of confusion over gel vs dip. I told him I loved the gel color bc I really liked it. That's when Mary started getting REALLY LOUD & RUDE about how I was only supposed to get a pedicure. I apologized profusely & said she was right. It was my mistake & I couldn't remember what service she said I could have, but that I would take either one they could provide. She kept yelling & really took my mistake very personally, for reasons I fail to understand. I kept apologizing for my mistake. I'm not sure what was going on but I k ow I didn't want any of the nail technicians to be upset with me. The man told me to sit down on a bench that has many little foot spas attached to them. He then said, "it will cost $45 for your feet". I said, "okay, thank you." This is not a spa chair with a massage. The blue plastic bag was clipped onto super dirty corners that look like they are not cleaned. The SPA WATER WAS COLD, BUT NOT COLDER THAN THE DEMEANOR OF THE MAN HANDLING MY FEET & HIS ASSOCIATE. He kept picking up & roughly handling my feet & legs. I do not know what I did to deserve this type of unpleasant treatment. He took the gel nail polish off of my feet & filed down my nails. He did not add lotion to my feet, or get rid of my callouses or do anything else! I could not take it anymore, I felt so uncomfortable & needed to leave. I kindly told him that I could not finish the service & would pay him for what he had done (take off the gel polish). I was trying to avoid anymore unpleasantness. He said it will be $20 bc he was ready to add the paint. THERE'S NO WAY. I spent more time waiting for him than he spent on my feet. I kindly said, "but you didn't do anything on my feet". He said, "I took the polish off". I said, "I would finish, but I feel so uncomfortable here. She yelled at me for no reason & you don't seem to want me here". He said, "$20". I paid him his $20 & I will never be back here again! I am so shaken up by their treatment. This was my treat to myself for my upcoming 40th bday. I dropped my child off at chess class & thought I could squeeze in some much needed pampering. This was not it. And to emphasize, I stayed kind, friendly & pleasant the entire time. read more

I regularly get SNS nails. I work all across the valley, and whenever I need my nails done I stop at a different salon depending on where I'm at in the valley. I will also call up a friend and go meet them at a nail place they recommend so I can get some girl time in. I get SNS nails approximately every 2 to 3 weeks. I've been to places that I won't go to again and I have my absolute favorite place. Yesterday, I went to this place on recommendation and met a friend there. They drilled down my old SNS and then put on acetone and wrapped up my fingers and left me for over 40 minutes. She did not check on the process. She just came over pulled off the tinfoil and began to "wipe" the acrylic powder off of my nails which was very painful. Then she used a stick file. Then she used a dremmel. After she stated working, I kept getting chided for moving, for not moving, for not placing my fingers/elbows where she wanted them. She told me that I had to be "fast" She would paint all of the nails with thick drippy clear and then put my nail in and the. Pat the thickness with some sanding block she had. She asked me to use the UV light every time, which I've NEVER been asked to do. When she started filing with the dremmel, she kept catching my skin around my nails. And she didn't even file the nils down smooth or even at all. She ruined the nails underneath by drilling through them underneath to the SNS. Then, she applied a clear topcoat and it dripped on the sides of my nails which she pushed back with her little block and painted over. :/ By the end, my nails HURT, I didn't want her to do anything else. I didn't ask her to change anything, I just wanted to leave. Because I'm so nice, I even left a tip for her (My friend kept apologizing and telling me how sorry she was, it was awkward) which I sorely regret. Seriously, my nails still hurt and I can't get this train wreck fixed for a couple of weeks. So disappointing. read more

Was getting my car a oil change, so thought I'd get a pedicure. BIG MISTAKE! Should've seen the red flag when a girl was about to walk and the girl said, "OH! I forgot the top coat". And then proceeded to polish the girl as she was paying at register. I had this older man, Tim who did my nails. 1st time I had a male do my nails. He was so rough and seemed rushed. I told him to be gentle with my leg that was hypersensitive due to past surgeries. The bench seating was very uncomfortable. No massage chairs. $21 Classic Pedicure. (A girl, Sally seemed to have the "Touch", if you choose to go. Suggest her) This was the first time ever that I didn't tip. I didn't get the top coat!!!!! read more

So this was my first time getting my nails done in like 4 years, but now that I'm making my own money I decided to go get the Shellac nail service! It came to $25 for a great gel manicure! They also told me if they get messed up within three weeks just to come back and they would fix it for free, which was nice since I'm so destructive haha. This salon was so different than the others I've been to in the past, it wasn't like where there's tables set up in rows, there was just one long row that everyone sits at..its so cute! Plus the pedi area was really nice..I may try to get one eventually I'm jut so ticklish! In addition the receptionist was nice and offered me a water bottle and the girl that did my nails was nice too, she didn't talk really so i didn't get her name. It's very spa like inside, they also had a large TV to watch. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the music, it went from top 40, to modern country, to country music my grandparents would listen to..I would prefer spa music or something. I went in here today with my girlfriend to get her nails painted. My girlfriend and I are both in power wheelchairs. The long countertop that runs down the left side of the store is a raised counter that they do the nails on. One of the employees told us that he can't service my girlfriend's nails because her wheelchair can't reach the countertop. What the hell kind of discrimination is that? The Nail Tech acted like we were in his way and ushered us out the door fairly quick. I wish I could give this zero stars because this place should be out of business. Yesterday was my first visit but it won't be my last. You MUST make an appointment but it's well worth the advance scheduling. I made my appointment on Tuesday and Friday was the next available. Plan ahead! I was really impressed with how timely they all were. Ruth is a great multitasker, she was helping soak my fingers in acetone to get my old gels off while answering the phone and scheduling appointments. My appointment was at 4 and I was seated within just a few minutes. Mary was my nail tech. I really enjoyed how gentle she was! Especially with the cuticle trimming and buffing- I have been to so many salons where these treatments HURT and I have had my nail beds bleed a time or two in the past. Mary was so meticulate and not once did I flinch in pain. Her attention to detail was impressive, she ensured every detail was done to her satisfaction, and if it wasn't she had no problem redoing it. Horrible treatment by manager Mary not only is she terrible at doing nails but I've heard her talk badly about her clients. She's even told customers not to come back because they made a comment on how expensive her salon has been getting understandably with inflation but still never okay to talk to clients like that. I haven't been here in years since my regular technician left. I wasn't able to get in to see her at her new place before the weekend so I went back to give Jeniza a try. I called on a Friday morning and they were able to get me in the afternoon. Mary was my technician and she did a beautiful job- super detail oriented and the massage was great. The salon overall was a little run down. Not what I remember from my previous visits but I'm thinking maybe management has changed? Not sure but either way Mary made sure her station and the pedicure sink were cleaned in my presence before she started so I was happy about that and the gentleman at the counter was quick to help her clean up as needed. After trying a lot of nail salons aroing the chandler/gilbert/tempe area I decided to give this one a shot. They are awesome! I have been going to Jeniza ever since my first time there. I prefer my nails shaped oval and its very hard to find someone that can get the shape just right. They do not have the massage chairs like most places do but the seating is definitely comfortable. My mani and pedi last atleast 3 weeks. I get it changed in 3 weeks just because my nails grow too long. read more

I have been coming here since I moved to the area in 2013. Mary is the go-to-girl here! She always has a smile on her face and she is the sweetest person I've ever met! Mary does an amazing job on both gel and acrylics manicures! I tend to be very picky about how my nails look and if I think a nail could use a little more filing Mary has no problem fixing it. She doesn't even make a sour face like most technicians do when you critique their work! The other technicians are nice too and I've gotten pedicures from almost all of them. I used to love this place but after my experience today I'll never go back. The spa area is cute and comfy. Most of the staff do a great job, especially Mich. My issue is that my best friend and I scheduled appointments today at noon- hers for a mani, mine for a mani and pedi. She was seated immediately as were two other women standing around waiting. I, however, sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes before being escorted to a pedi spa where I sat, untouched, for another 15 minutes. My water was cold by the time someone finally told me. I'll be with you in a few minutes. Meanwhile, my friend was almost done with her manicure. This is the second time this has happened here and now it's the last. I won't ever go back. I went to this salon recently for the first time, not expecting to be impressed. I've been to many of the type I assumed this would be, but agreed to go with my coworker since it was convenient to our office. I'm glad I did! We called in the morning and scheduled two manicures (mine was gel) for the evening after work, so we were able to get in same day. When we arrived we didn't have to wait at all, and they actually seated us next to each other at the same time, so we really did get to have our nails done "together" (unlike a lot of other places) which was nice. Debbie did my gel manicure and she did a nice job, actually avoided any mishaps like making my finger bleed or filing my skin instead of the nail (yes, this stuff has happened to me on more than one occasion). I had gotten used to going to a more "upscale" salon with a specific nail tech previously, which I quit going to due to the expense and the fact that she was always booked up. Now I know that I can get my nails done for a reasonable price and not have to schedule weeks out. I also appreciated that there was no language barrier so I was able to communicate what I wanted with no issues. They had quite the large gel color selection too. I can't compare creativity or unique requests since I didn't ask for anything special, but I wouldn't doubt their ability or be afraid to find out. (FYI - This is the first time I have ever gone to a nail salon, so my review should be taken with a grain of salt.) That being said, nearly everything went fabulously. I got a Deluxe pedicure, which included callus removal (mine were heinous!), a fruity sugar scrub, some kind of creamy mask, then a paraffin wax treatment, and finally a hot stone massage. Soooo relaxing. My polish looks perfect. It came to $50 plus tip, their pedi services start at $20. My tech was very gracious (I told her it was my first time). She made a few nice attempts at small talk, but backed off once she saw that such a thing is not my strong suit. Good instincts on her end, she could tell that I prefer staring off into space and listening to my Ipod! :) During the paraffin and the hot stone she made sure to check that it wasn't too hot for me. She gave great service. The place seemed very clean, the layout and decor were very nice. The only negative was the choice of TV programming (the place is small so it's hard to put your eyes anywhere else.) They started with CNN (okay) and ended with the Disney Channel (really NOT good). I don't think anyone getting a pedicure wants to watch Sharkboy and Lava Girl or whatever. It seemed to be more what the receptionist wanted to watch, as opposed to the guests. Sally has been my tech and friend for 3 years now and I will go to her as long as she is working. She's always friendly and always does a stellar job. My nails always look fantastic. If I have any complaints, it is with the lack of consideration for the returning clientele on the front desk's part. On several occasions I have showed up as scheduled to my appointment and Sally will be finishing a walk-in. So I will have to wait 15-20 minutes for her to finish. Today I had to see another technician as I needed my nails done today and Sally was booked. I had made an appointment, like I always do, however when I showed up on time, the technician was just starting a walk-in! I couldn't believe it. This happens on so many occasions as I've witnessed it too many times to count. So yet another technician soaked my nails and removed my polish on my toes... Then I waited and waited... For 40 minutes. If it weren't for Sally, I woul likely not return. read more

I particularly like Kevin, the foot massage he gives is very firm which i appreciate! I just happened to run across Jeniza one morning when I was wanting a manicure and it is about 5 blocks from my home. Mary was the tech there and took me right away. I have been to many salons both expensive and less expensive and never had such a perfect manicure. My nails are thin and fragile so she was very careful when trimming and filing and I usually have to go home and clean up the polish but her job was perfect. I have never had anyone that paid so much attention to detail. Her pedicures are also "spot on". I see her every week sometimes my nails still look good but I love visiting with Mary. She is such a good person and I truly appreciate the way she has made my nails and feet look. I have found a home. Okay so I am basically obsessed with this place. My friend suggested I go here, and Yelp confirmed that for me after seeing their reviews and video! Jeniza is awesome!! I used to go to Pink Polish which is another great nail salon, but felt it was pretty overpriced. I went on Friday during a lunch break to get a pedi, I would recommend calling ahead for an appointment, however, they were able to squeeze me in for a gel mani as well. Rose was my nail tech and she was phenomenal, she made sure I was comfortable, offered some great tips, and did a fast and efficient service. I am always rushing from one place to the next it seems like, and as much as everyone loves a 1 hour pedicure and 1 hour nail service, I don't have time for that, but don't want to jeopardize the service. So I felt like I got a quick service, and it was done to my picky standards. And at a perfect price for my tight budget. I love having my nails done, I basically can't live without them done, and I need somewhere that I can afford. I loved the decor, the nail bar, and the pedi station, and I loved how quaint it was inside. I hate going into a HUGE overcrowded business. Needless to say, I have made the switch to Jeniza, its nice and close to work, and on my way home, and Rose is my new nail tech.
