Super tasty HK tea cafe style food inside the Empire Centre food court. This is their 2nd location (1st location is inside nearby Parker Place). Staff are professional and quite helpful when I was overwhelmed at the awesome food selection. Special mention. The place is no frills, but that's what makes the place awesome. Food is reasonably priced, and totally hits the spot. Their hash browns look and taste like the ones from McDonald's, which is a pleasant surprise. The New York steak is a bit thin, but one can't expect too much for the price. Served with some gravy. I also had the ham & macaroni soup. They don't skimp out on the fixings. Decent portion size as well. Worth the upgrade. Their (hot) milk tea comes unflavoured. Tasted great too. I would gladly eat here again. Here's to hoping they do well in the future. Recommended.

Deep fried chicken leg and egg on meat sauce spaghetti

First time trying this recently opened location of One Cafe, which is located in the food court of Empire Plaza. It was quite busy during lunchtime, as expected, so calling in advance to place your order is highly recommended. I got the deep fried drumstick and egg on meat sauce spaghetti. I normally get the baked spaghetti Bolognese but decided to give this one a try as i still get my meat sauce without the baked cheese. It was still just as good and tastes like your typical HK style bolognese. The deep fried chicken was quite delicious although somewhat salty. The skin was also a little bit over fried so it was a bit hard. I also got a hot milk tea and it came in a large size which was a bonus. I'd go back to try other dishes.

Satay Beef w/ Instant Noodle and Pineapple Bun w/ Scrambled Egg Combo

This vendor inside the Empire Centre food court was great. I really liked the quality HK cafe style food they offer. Most recent visit resulted in a delicious bowl of Satay Beef w/ Instant Noodle combo with a fluffy Pineapple Bun & buttery Scramble Eggs. There always seems to be a small line, but it moves quickly.

Another outstanding hk bfast place tucked away in a strip mall called empire centre. Such a good value and taxes in too. My set was around $12. Large steaming hot cup of silky smooth milk tea. Silky and suave scrambled eggs with buttered toast. The beef sacha was soft and tender and full of flavour. The soup broth also good. Added a touch of chili oil and bam! Perfect brunch! Service very fast. Given a pager to wait but waited no less than 5 mins. Can pay by debit too. The food court was nice and quiet around 930-945am. Lots of clean tables. Tables were also cleared quickly. Lots of seating and bright lights. I would repeat for sure. Cheers! Happy eating!

Cha Don has only been opened in Henderson Mall for 2 weeks and the line is insane. (Even went back a month later and it's still ridiculous.) Most of the dishes are under $16 but some of the items are not available till after 11:30. That's includes the baked rice dish and spaghetti and the minced pork patty rice series. This will quicken up the long time for those breakfast goers but sucks if you're craving either of those. So the first time I had gone, there were lots of mistakes in orders and the long lines. There was also a sign in front of the cashier stating that they will only take CASH or E-TRANSFER...So be prepared! By the look at more recent reviews, it seems like they're still working out the kinks and the line is still 30-45 minutes. Maybe by this spring they'll figure it out? Just know there are lots of good options if you're not willing to wait.

Long lines at both the Yaohan and Henderson Mall locations speak to how popular it is, and the pricing sits in the affordable range for generous, full-meal plates rather than snack-sized portions. The overall value proposition is strong: you get real-deal HK café flavours without feeling like corners were cut. Dishes come out fast and hot, and the kitchen does not skimp on proteins--whether it's pork chops, chicken, or beef, plates feel properly loaded rather than padded with carbs. Despite the crowds, service is efficient and geared toward turnover, which suits the food court setting and keeps waits manageable once you've actually ordered. It's the kind of place where you grab your tray, sit, and eat rather than linger, but it delivers exactly what you come for. Given the combination of flavour, portion size, and price, Cha Don is an easy recommend for Hong Kong café fans looking for a quick, satisfying meal. The only real downside is the lineup; at peak times the queue can be enough to make you think twice. Still, if the line isn't too long, it's absolutely worth returning for another round.

Not sure if it has been the same chef/cook on Saturdays during breakfast and lunch time but the food hasn't been as tasty when compared to weekdays. Today we went for a family lunch gathering on a Saturday and the restaurant was jam packed. Not sure if this was also a factor but every single dish we ordered was so greasy. We also noticed that the portion wasn't as big as what we usually received on weekdays. The complementary soup that came was lukewarm so that was already one point off. The dishes when served were not presented nicely. For example, there was food hanging off the plate and pot (they eventually fell to floor) or spilled sauce on the table. Even my favorite dish stir fried beef rice noodles was just mediocre today. We ordered 6 dishes and every single dish was salty and greasy. It really felt like they were made in haste. It was overall a disappointment and I don't think I'd want to visit the restaurant on a Saturday again.

The dessert at the end was a surprise. Expecting red bean soup but got a Chinese jello instead. Prawns were amazing too. Salted egg flavour and sweet and sour pork had wok hei! Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers! My commentary: Baked pork chop on rice was only OK/not bad. I've had better. Angel Cafe, Van Tea, and Cafe Gloucester come to mind. It needed more tomato sauce, more cheese, and the pork was not cripsy. Baked curry beef brisket on rice was not bad. I don't have a reference to this because it's the first time I've tried it. It was pretty decent overall. The brisket was very tender. Pineapple bun with a slice of heart attack. This was good. Nice crunchy topping, soft bun, served with an coronary artery hardener. If you like your 菠蘿油, this is for you. They come in different iterations, btw. Regular/original, red bean, and chocolate. I got a chocolate BLB to go. Other notes. Custard/egg tarts. This is the style I like. With the cookie crust pastry base. Good eggy flavour in the custard. Chocolate pineapple bun - there's chocolate filling in the middle. If they made this with a Fererro Rocher like filling, it would sell like hotcakes! I think I'll skip the baked rices next time. They were underwhelming. Going to go for the instant ramen! There are other baked goods. Wiener bun with cheese and a loaf of white bread to go, was what I got. Seating for about 30 inside with additional seating on outside patio. Parking available on the street. I got the almost HK service. An Ikea patio table and chair set. You know the one - $29.99 for the TÄRNÖ table. Standard HK Chinese service. Efficient, not terribly engaging, order via QR code, and they bring it to you. As minimal human contact as possible. I feel like I was in the Artemis 2 Capsule, minus the weightlessness and a 搭台 experience. Not sure why they served the baked rice offerings in a foil take out container. Saves on costs, or no need to buy heavy oven safe stoneware? I will come back to try other things. Arrive early before the lunch crowd. Cash and debit only.

The setup is more like a food court café, nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. Prices are very reasonable, around $15-17 per person, which makes it a good value for casual dining. The menu hits the usual HK-style fusion notes -- a mix of Chinese and Western comfort dishes. I really enjoyed their Hong Kong milk tea; it tasted authentic and properly brewed, just like what you'd find in a local cha chaan teng. The baked pork chop rice came bone-in -- a bit unexpected, decent but not spectacular. The fried chicken with rice was also just okay, nothing that stands out. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after quick, nostalgic HK-style comfort food at a fair price. The environment isn't the cleanest or most comfortable, but it serves its purpose. Would I come back? Maybe -- mostly for the tea and the value.

When we got back downstairs, the lady in charge already had reserved a table for us and immediately explained to us what is served during the breakfast hours. She gave us a few recommendations and we went with the wonton with brisket as they ran out of fish balls and the HK Style Grilled Beef with Black Peppercorn Sauce. Both items were marvelously well made, the peppercorn sauce is EXACTLY how its done in HK and all major cities with a huge HK population. But the winner is the wonton. By golly, I have had hundreds of bowls of wonton, I have made hundreds of wonton dumplings for my family's business but this one really stands out amongst all of them.
