Sautéed Pork in Stir-Fried Pasta: it's really pork and cabbage in spaghetti with tomato sauce - still good :)
    Jack W.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE Looking for variety that a Hog Kong-style cafe would offer while at Lansdowne Centre? Grill King doesn't have the best quality food in town (so many good competitors in Richmond), but it's decent, fast, and relatively cheap...and they take credit card too! === 2. FOOD Looking for authentic / cheap milk tea or lemon tea? This is one of the better places in town to get it! Sautéed Pork in Stir-Fried Pasta: It's really chunks of pork with shredded cabbage cooked with spaghetti in tomato sauce. Fancy? No. Good? Yes! Korean-Style Vermicelli with Chicken So chap chae it's not. A bit of a far cry imitating it. However, it onions, shredded cabbage, carrots, and chunks of chicken to warm your belly! Instant Noodle Combo You can get any sort of toppings - I chose two eggs and ham on this day; however, you have a choice of chicken steak, pork chop, or spam / luncheon meat too. Always good and fast! === 3. SERVICE They speak Cantonese and Mandarin; thankfully for me, they speak English too and it's always efficient and fast. They also remember I speak only English, so they call out my orders in English thankfully when it's ready for pickup! Keep in mind that they charge 50 cents per takeout bag. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's the Lansdowne Centre food court - so it's either good or bad depending on your impression of it. If you've never been there before, it's looks a little aged, but there are plenty of tables for groups of 2 to 6, and now that additional tables have been added int he adjacent atrium, you can bring larger groups too. Those with baby strollers or wheelchairs will have no difficulty here and parking is usually plentiful in the mall's parking lot.

In the Landsdowne Mall's food court with a consistent line up. The morning line up was a majority of Chinese seniors so that sparked my interest. Then gradual some students and younger ones. I like the price pint for the menu. Their stall looked cluttered but I like that as it reminded me of good food counts stalls in HK. This place is good for fast HK style food. Also typical of food courts: order and pay at the counter and wait for your order to be shouted out for pick up. If your Cantonese isn't that great then just walk up to the counter after the person who ordered before you like I did I! I had the mini breakfast combo for under $5.48 and included a large coffee with 2 hot dog type of sausage, 2 fried eggs and chow mein. It's was pretty good and enough to fill me up this morning. Yup, I'll be back to try something else.

This is located at the food court in Lansdowne mall. The freshest food with the best price. They have a special on in which you pick 2 meats and 2 veggies on rice or noodle with a free hot drink for $6. Go for: fresh food, low price Don't go for: the best flavours, everything is just pretty good

There's only two or three places at Landsdown's food court that consistently have lineups during lunch. This plus one of those places. GK prepares made to order meals so it's fresh and hot. If you don't mind waiting a few minutes while the cook up your meal, you can treat yourself to grilled vegetables, meat, seafood as well as rice and soup noodles. They also offer a couple of HK style breakfast for $4-$5. What makes this place earn four stars is the perfect combination of fast food quality, quantity (see photos), and price.

Not the prettiest food, but yummy!

Long lines at both the Yaohan and Henderson Mall locations speak to how popular it is, and the pricing sits in the affordable range for generous, full-meal plates rather than snack-sized portions. The overall value proposition is strong: you get real-deal HK café flavours without feeling like corners were cut. Dishes come out fast and hot, and the kitchen does not skimp on proteins--whether it's pork chops, chicken, or beef, plates feel properly loaded rather than padded with carbs. Despite the crowds, service is efficient and geared toward turnover, which suits the food court setting and keeps waits manageable once you've actually ordered. It's the kind of place where you grab your tray, sit, and eat rather than linger, but it delivers exactly what you come for. Given the combination of flavour, portion size, and price, Cha Don is an easy recommend for Hong Kong café fans looking for a quick, satisfying meal. The only real downside is the lineup; at peak times the queue can be enough to make you think twice. Still, if the line isn't too long, it's absolutely worth returning for another round.

We went around 1pm and surprisingly they ran out of a lot of options including the baked pork chop rice that I really wanted to try. Despite that, we still gave this place a try since there is barely a line, very unusual for this place. We ended up with the scallion chicken noodle (breakfast item), satay beef vermicelli (breakfast item), and black pepper baked filet over rice. These are stuff out of what I usually get, but I still enjoyed them. The scallion chicken dish was $15 which is a bit steep especially given the chicken is tiny but comes with hot drink. The chicken is a grilled chicken with skin which is flavorful, though the noodles were a bit underseasoned so it is ideal to add the sauce from the chicken into the noodles. The satay beef vermicelli is amazing. The beef is so tender and flavorful, and enhances the flavor of the vermicelli. The eggs and toast were delicious too - eggs were scrambled over easy, and the toast is very crunchy. Black pepper baked filet over rice was pretty hearty. I love the fragrance of the rice and the filet is very tender. The black pepper sauce does clash and dominate some of the flavors but it is still nonetheless well executed. For the drinks that come with the meals, we got milk tea and milk tea + coffee (yin yang) - these drink are high in caffeine even with the small size! Will update to 5 stars when I try the full suite of items they are known for, since the dishes we got were good but stuff that I could've gotten elsewhere.

I used to come here often with friends and families for breakfast and wanted to see whether it still tasted just as good. We each got two items from the breakfast combo, A through D. A to Cs are our usual options and upgrade to French toast. The eggs were somewhat on the drier side and i personally prefer fluffy ones. The beef noodles and the congee continue to be my favorites. The beef noodle broth is flavorful and the congee definitely comforted my soul. The items listed in D are always a miss. We have tried all items and none of them was delicious. For example, the steamed rice rolls were very doughy. Other times, they were very dry. The items in D sometimes felt like they're frozen dim sum items sold at grocery stores. Service is a hit or miss depending on which server you get. Sometimes you get servers who come and refill tea and provides actual service. Other times, no one comes by at all even when there is no tea in cups, etc.

The dessert at the end was a surprise. Expecting red bean soup but got a Chinese jello instead. Prawns were amazing too. Salted egg flavour and sweet and sour pork had wok hei! Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers! Happy eating!

We only had our credit cards and I asked the person at the cash register if they take credit card, she said nope but there is an ATM upstairs at the Superstore. We went upstairs to grab some cash from the ATM out front. When we got back downstairs, the lady in charge already had reserved a table for us and immediately explained to us what is served during the breakfast hours. She gave us a few recommendations and we went with the wonton with brisket as they ran out of fish balls and the HK Style Grilled Beef with Black Peppercorn Sauce. Both items were marvelously well made, the peppercorn sauce is EXACTLY how its done in HK and all major cities with a huge HK population. But the winner is the wonton. By golly, I have had hundreds of bowls of wonton, I have made hundreds of wonton dumplings for my family's business but this one really stands out amongst all of them. The service is efficient and very friendly and they greeted so many regular customers with kind words asking about their work and family.
