So happy to see that iCafe has returned and not too far away at the City Square food court! I returned with my mom for their delicious and classic HK eats and some nostalgic flavours and thats exactly what we got! The Baked Pork Chop On Rice was tangy with an egg fried rice base and thick breaded pork chop on top. The Singapore Vermicelli was my favourite with thin and springy noodles that weren't too oily or clumpy. We also tried their new Omurice Curry which had plenty of tender beef and held a tomato rice inside the egg wrap. Finally, their pineapple bun series filled with satay beef was a great sweet and savoury combo. Although the food court ambiance isnt the most attractive, the food is still delicious and it was so nice to see the original owners, chef and servers running the stall!

HK Borscht. Very large portion, i would've preferred slightly less but more intense

iCafe had been my favourite HK western style cafe for years, with Goldfinch in Causeway Bay, HK, being the nostalgic favorite there, 2nd best overall. So I was upset when they closed down Goldfinch in 2018, but I was downright depressed when iCafe called it quits in 2023. Imagine my elation when they reopened as a food court stall in City Square in January. And subsequent despair when I discovered they now only open until 5:30, meaning we'd have to wait for a day off together before we could eat there again. Well, we finally did. Last visit: June 2025 And it's as good as it ever was *except* the HK style Borscht was watered down from what it was before (but still decent) Baked Pork Chop on Rice: 5 stars. Still the gold standard. We've traveled the world for decades looking for a better Hk style baked Pork Chop, still haven't found one. They are as good as they ever were Breaded Fish Filet, Pan Fried Chicken on Rice w/ Black Pepper Sauce w/ HK Iced Lemon Tea, HK Borscht: The Chicken Steak was fantastic. Good sized portion, crispy skin. 5tars. The fish was also really good, although we've actually had crispier at a couple of other spots. Nonetheless, it was perfectly cooked, 4.5 stars. The HK Iced Tea is still very good, but alas, only 1 size (no large size). 4.5 stars. The HK Borscht was the only step back, whereas it used to be consistently rich, mine was slightly less intense than I would've liked, but still decent. Still the same great sweet bread roll as before. 3.75 stars. Ok also the hot Almond milk was disappointing. 1 star. Flavorless. Avoid. But their Black Pepper Sauce is still among the best. Overall, still great, with good portions. Will definitely come back again! #5StarFastFood 4.75 Stars, 9.3/10

Happy to see this new iteration of iCafe in the City Square food court. We went for their breakfast, which they offer from 10-11 AM daily. We got the following: -original breakfast set with sausage and over easy eggs, dinner roll with butter, satay beef vermicelli (supplement $2.50), iced lemon tea -big breakfast set with minute steak, luncheon meat, egg, dinner roll with butter, satay beef vermicelli (supplement $2.50), iced mixed coffee and milk tea Total was under $31. Everything was fresh, tasty and a great value. Really happy to have another HK cafe option after their closure last year, especially with them offering validated parking at City Square as their old location had really expensive street parking. The workers are all really patient and helpful, and they have preordering available on their website to avoid the rush during busy hours. My only qualm was my friend did find the coffee milk tea mix was overly sweet, but you can always request less sweetener. I'll be back.

Cha Don has only been opened in Henderson Mall for 2 weeks and the line is insane. (Even went back a month later and it's still ridiculous.) Most of the dishes are under $16 but some of the items are not available till after 11:30. That's includes the baked rice dish and spaghetti and the minced pork patty rice series. This will quicken up the long time for those breakfast goers but sucks if you're craving either of those. So the first time I had gone, there were lots of mistakes in orders and the long lines. There was also a sign in front of the cashier stating that they will only take CASH or E-TRANSFER...So be prepared! By the look at more recent reviews, it seems like they're still working out the kinks and the line is still 30-45 minutes. Maybe by this spring they'll figure it out? Just know there are lots of good options if you're not willing to wait.

Long lines at both the Yaohan and Henderson Mall locations speak to how popular it is, and the pricing sits in the affordable range for generous, full-meal plates rather than snack-sized portions. The overall value proposition is strong: you get real-deal HK café flavours without feeling like corners were cut. Dishes come out fast and hot, and the kitchen does not skimp on proteins--whether it's pork chops, chicken, or beef, plates feel properly loaded rather than padded with carbs. Despite the crowds, service is efficient and geared toward turnover, which suits the food court setting and keeps waits manageable once you've actually ordered. It's the kind of place where you grab your tray, sit, and eat rather than linger, but it delivers exactly what you come for. Given the combination of flavour, portion size, and price, Cha Don is an easy recommend for Hong Kong café fans looking for a quick, satisfying meal. The only real downside is the lineup; at peak times the queue can be enough to make you think twice. Still, if the line isn't too long, it's absolutely worth returning for another round.

I waited until after the hype…read more I knew about this place since they opened, so of course I needed to try. See my pics. That's what I had. My commentary: Baked pork chop on rice was only OK/not bad. I've had better. Angel Cafe, Van Tea, and Cafe Gloucester come to mind. It needed more tomato sauce, more cheese, and the pork was not cripsy. Baked curry beef brisket on rice was not bad. I don't have a reference to this because it's the first time I've tried it. It was pretty decent overall. The brisket was very tender. Pineapple bun with a slice of heart attack. This was good. Nice crunchy topping, soft bun, served with an coronary artery hardener. If you like your 菠蘿油, this is for you. They come in different iterations, btw. Regular/original, red bean, and chocolate. I got a chocolate BLB to go. Other notes. Custard/egg tarts. This is the style I like. With the cookie crust pastry base. Good eggy flavour in the custard. Chocolate pineapple bun - there's chocolate filling in the middle. If they made this with a Fererro Rocher like filling, it would sell like hotcakes! I think I'll skip the baked rices next time. They were underwhelming. Going to go for the instant ramen! There are other baked goods. Wiener bun with cheese and a loaf of white bread to go, was what I got. Seating for about 30 inside with additional seating on outside patio. Parking available on the street. I got the almost HK service. An Ikea patio table and chair set. You know the one - $29.99 for the TÄRNÖ table. Standard HK Chinese service. Efficient, not terribly engaging, order via QR code, and they bring it to you. As minimal human contact as possible. I feel like I was in the Artemis 2 Capsule, minus the weightlessness and a 搭台 experience. Not sure why they served the baked rice offerings in a foil take out container. Saves on costs, or no need to buy heavy oven safe stoneware? I will come back to try other things. Arrive early before the lunch crowd. Cash and debit only.

There is a book at the entrance to write down a name for the wait list, but we weren't told about it and didn't know about it until the next group came in and put down their name. In any case, the server knew we were next in line and gave us a table first. I sat down on a booth seat and was immediately slumped into the seat. It was way too soft and was making my lower back very uncomfortable. The first thing I noticed when entering the restaurant was a sign about waste reduction and single-use utensils will only be provided when asked. The same sign is on the wall beside each table. I thought this was a restaurant worthwhile supporting. But, to my big disappointment, after we placed our orders, the server brought out disposable single-use utensils for us, so much about waste reduction. I ordered the HK Style Satay Beef with thick round rice noodle ($13.50), it is one of the All Day Breakfast noodle soup options. My friend ordered the Singaporean Laksa Chicken in Noodle Soup ($18.95). The food came about 10 minutes after we ordered and were well presented and hot. The Satay Beef was smaller in portion, there is not a lot of beef. The Laksa is more generous in portion but then that is also reflected on the price. I thought Hainan chicken would be used for the Laksa but it was not; therefore, I don't think it was authentic Singaporean Laksa and the value of this dish is definitely not as good as Hawker's Delight. Both dishes tasted ok, not exceptional but acceptable. However, MSG was definitely used as I felt quite thirsty for the rest of the day. The service was excellent. It looks like the place is run by a few young people, they were all very pleasant and polite. Our tea was refilled a few times throughout our meal. I would visit again just because of the service.

Not sure if it has been the same chef/cook on Saturdays during breakfast and lunch time but the food hasn't been as tasty when compared to weekdays. Today we went for a family lunch gathering on a Saturday and the restaurant was jam packed. Not sure if this was also a factor but every single dish we ordered was so greasy. We also noticed that the portion wasn't as big as what we usually received on weekdays. The complementary soup that came was lukewarm so that was already one point off. The dishes when served were not presented nicely. For example, there was food hanging off the plate and pot (they eventually fell to floor) or spilled sauce on the table. Even my favorite dish stir fried beef rice noodles was just mediocre today. We ordered 6 dishes and every single dish was salty and greasy. It really felt like they were made in haste. It was overall a disappointment and I don't think I'd want to visit the restaurant on a Saturday again.

Service could be a bit slower but it's a Chinese restaurant. So i get it. Everything was gooood! Portions were generous and the taste on point. The washrooms could use a bit of cleaning as well as the flooring...so had to take away a star. Would go back for sure! Overall tho, good comfort Chinese food at reasonable prices. Cheers!
