Local's favorite place. We came on the recommendation of friends who live in Carmel. Very welcoming cafe-style casual restaurant with indoor & outdoor patio dining. Extensive menu and also a specials menu it was hard to decide and everyone's meal around us looked so good. We had the Corralito sausage & avocado Benedict which was served with a side of country potatoes. The sausage was tasty & hearty and the eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious homemade hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a bit burnt but otherwise ok. We also had the mango pancakes which exceed our expectations as the perfectly ripe mangoes were cut in slices both into the pancake batter as well as on top of the stack. We got regular maple syrup as well as house made orange syrup which went well with the mangoes. The coffee was good and my mug was refilled as needed. Excellent service - very friendly, knowledgeable & professional staff who all appear to take a lot of pride and love in this restaurant - something we really like since we don't always see this in all places. Reasonable prices and generous portions. So glad we ate here. We will have to return and bring our loved ones introduce them to Jeffrey's.

Jeffreys is such a cute little spot. I love sitting outside there for brunch or lunch, it's so relaxing. The food is super yum and the waitstaff was quick and attentive. I highly recommend the hot chocolate. It was super pretty and yum too!

My sister Son, and I decided to stop by Jefferies for a quick cappuccino and lunch while we were doing laundry. We decided to sit at the bar top and we're served super fast and the bar top was very cute. Our server was super nice and answered any questions that we needed. It was beautiful inside and out the restaurant and we had a really great lunch. We will be back.

Great food. This is my sister and her husbands favorite places for breakfast. My sisters and our 4 dogs grabbed a table outside under the heat lamp. The service was quick and attentive. The server was polite and friendly. I had a decaf latte. I wish I could make them as good. I also had the seafood omelet. It was stuffed with prawns and crab meat. The hollandaise sauce is terrific. The inlet is made with 3 eggs so there was a lot of it. Jeffries is very popular so you may have to wait but it's worth it. We will all be back.

Food was great and very friendly staff! I understand that most people in town have dogs and most restaurants are dog friendly which is totally ok. But there are also people that are allergic or maybe not comfortable with seeing so much hair around when eating. We were sitting inside since outdoor there was not one table with out a dog and we still had to see the servers black shirt full of different dogs hair which was not a good experience. I am giving the 4 start for food and staff but would really be nice to pay attention to that small group of people too ;)

Down home, family style, solid food eatery. Where locals hang out to enjoy substantial chow. Sunday breakfast specials for Bambie and me were soul satisfying. I had huevos rancheros with pulled pork. Bambie had crab cake Benedict. We were both happy. And belly full at the conclusion. Elevated American diner food. Made with affection. Several servers handled our meal. They are were happy, friendly and efficient. Prices are surprisingly low. If I lived in Carmel Valley this place would be a weekly destination.

We've been to Valley Kitchen dozens of times and the food gets better and tastier. It's evident that the chef and team explores how to incorporate fresh, local, and fine ingredients and bring to life the best of CVR's and California's identity to its dishes. Our favorites are the smoked salmon sourced from Santa Cruz and smoked at Valley Kitchen, Upside Down Hot Honey Cornbread .. and love how he uses the honey, cheese, and garden ingredients. At one point, we had strict diet restrictions and asked Chef Andrew to cook without sugar and to keep our meals below 5g of carb. Not only did we stick to our strict keto diet while traveling but we also fell in love with every single dish he made. Chef Andrew embraced this opportunity to test and adjust to meet our diet needs AND introduce us to new ingredients to include into our diet. We are forever grateful. On this trip, although we asked for his avocado dessert, he politely recommended Chef Molly's desserts. I love how he puts the entire team at the center of the experience. It's a team effort and the desserts were unique to Carmel -- especially with CVR lavender curd. The people who work at CVR and Valley Kitchen are top notch. They are extremely attentive, respectful, and friendly. Many of the servers have been there for years and it shows that when there is a good work culture that it translates to better customer service. The ambiance brings a combination of natural beauty, warmth and coziness (especially with the fireplace), and Californian modern and sleek. I love the Zafferano Pina lamps that provide an intimate experience and enough light to the table (need to see what we're eating!). Thank you, Chef Andrew and team for letting us experience culinary excellence while we rest and heal at our happy place.

Plaza Linda is a bit off the beaten path, seeing as though it is deep in Carmel Valley, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We went early (5:30) and the place was fairly empty but it got busier quickly. The service was very good and the food delicious. I'd say it is what BC used to be. The one knock I'd say is a relatively limited Margarita menu, but the Cadillacs we had were tasty. We were greeted as we walked in and chose to eat inside, but they do have a nice outdoor patio also. I went to their restroom and was super impressed with how clean it was. I don't normally comment on bathrooms, but I had to take a picture to show you. If Yelp offered smell technology, you would also be able to smell how clean it was as well...maybe a feature for Yelp in years to come . We started with the calamari appetizer (4/5) and chips & salsa (4/5). Chips and salsa are not complimentary here ($5) which is a bummer, but frankly I kind of understand. The calamari was a thin tender fresh calamari steak breaded and fried. There was nothing very Mexican about this preparation, but it was still pretty tasty. Our entrees came out of the kitchen pretty quickly. My wife ordered a combo plate with a cheese enchilada and a chili relleno (3/5). The flavors for both items weren't her favorite. However she loved the accompanying black beans (5/5) and the rice (4/5). I ordered the carnitas plate (5/5) and loved it. The pork was super tasty with that great carnitas porky flavor. It was crisped up on the griddle. Wrapped up with corn tortillas, I will definitely get this again. I also agree with my wife that my black beans served in a mini crispy corn tortilla shell were the 2nd best thing I ate today. Service? The service was solid. This gentleman (could have been the Owner) running the front of the restaurant and waiting on all tables was hustling the entire time we were there. Drinks were refilled right away. Our orders were taken promptly. He was on it! Value? Hmmm? $90 before tip for 2 people without alcohol is pretty steep for a non taqueria Mexican restaurant. I will be back for the carnitas for sure and will just have to convince my wife to give it another try.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the homemade bread--light, fluffy, and piping hot, it melted in our mouths and set the tone for the rest of the evening. We started with the calamari, which was especially impressive with its crispy coating--definitely not soggy! The roast beet salad was another standout; it offered generous chunks of fresh beets, perfectly balanced with savory flavors. The artichoke dip was unique, featuring ground artichoke instead of the usual chunks, making each bite rich and smooth. The French onion soup was a delight, loaded with gooey cheese in every spoonful--comfort food at its best. For the main course, the fish and chips stole the show! With three substantial pieces, the fish was flaky and incredibly fresh, proving it was far from the frozen variety you might find elsewhere. We also enjoyed happy hour drinks and food, enhancing our experience even more. The service was impeccable, making us feel well taken care of throughout the evening. As a bonus, we enjoyed an open mic night (a.k.a. karaoke), where talented local musicians entertained the crowd while others sang along. The lively atmosphere created a great crowd and added to the overall enjoyment of our visit. Nothing about the drink or dinner menu was too wild or stood out as unique. Considering there are many interesting dining establishments in the Carmel area, I felt like Shearwater Tavern upheld their standard in a foodie town by sourcing local ingredients and craft beers. The artichoke dip pays tribute to a local crop and was pretty tasty. The serving was generous, so we were grateful to our server for providing some extra sourdough for scooping up the last of the cheesy, warm dip. Oh, and Wednesday's are half off bottles of wine! The restaurant was situated away from the hotel common area to allow for a more intimate dining experience but still close enough to the lobby and rooms for convenience. There were some folks smoking in the parking lot, and the smoke smell was making its way into the dining room. A band was wrapping up for the night as we were being seated, and it seemed like there is regularly live music in the lounge area of the restaurant. The service was friendly, prompt, and food decent. As a guest in the hotel, it was easy to charge the meal to the room. Solid choice for an easy meal if staying at the hotel. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to dine at Shearwater Tavern though.

Unfortunately, the reservation process was a major issue. Despite multiple calls ahead of time confirming room types and occupancy, several reservations were incorrect upon arrival, leaving guests scrambling to find rooms, adjust arrangements, or pay unexpected additional costs. The property itself is rustic but clean. We did not experience any bugs or critters, and the grounds are actually quite nice to explore. The rooms, however, are very basic and dated, with dark wood paneling, minimal amenities, cramped bathrooms, and inconsistent shower temperatures. Our decorative headboard was not securely attached and fell off the wall, which was unsettling, especially since one of the few outlets was underneath it. The refrigerator worked well, and the front desk provided extra towels when requested. The complimentary breakfast was simple but adequate (coffee, tea, hot cocoa, juice, melon, hard-boiled eggs, and coffee cake). We did not use the restaurant or bar during our stay. The property has a pool and event spaces that looked nice, although they seemed quiet during our summer weekend visit. Bonus: there are two resident cats, one very friendly and one more mangy. The best part of our stay was Colin at the front desk. He was kind, helpful, and went above and beyond, helping with questions, last-minute deliveries, and even assisting with a wedding-related printing request. Overall, I'd rate this as a solid 3-star hotel. It's clean, safe, and has a charming rustic setting, but the rooms and amenities are very basic. Seriously... your kids don't care that you want to sit and drink and hang out... they want to move and play and be kids. Eat and then take them someplace else.
