I went to Dr Lowery for decades and had no issues. (so I thought) A few months ago I was made aware that he was submitting charges to my insurance company for work he didn't do. When I confronted him, he lied to me about it. My husband and I are now going to a different dentist who has uncovered multiple problems as a result of poor dental care, costing us thousands. I had to have a tooth extracted and a bone graft because of extensive bone loss. It was a tooth I had a root canal on less than a year before. I had a cavity so huge you could see it clearly and I was informed that cavity was probably a year old. Dr. Lowry submitted preapprovals for cavities I did not have and missed cavities that I did have. If you are looking for a dentist, may I recommend a dentist who has a dental hygienist and doesn't do the teeth cleaning himself as Dr. Lowry does. I was charged for deep cleanings, which are impossible to do in 10 minutes. read more

We can't say enough about Dr. Lowry and his staff. They are genuinely caring, professional, and thorough. They bend over backwards to address your dental issues in a timely manner. Dr. Lowry and his assistants insure that you are well informed about all of your options, before you begin any procedure and they explain each step of a procedure in great detail once you begin. They make you feel, as if you are part of their family and you have an immediate sense that your are in good hands. At numerous other dental offices in the past, I have been given poor advice and service, I have also unwittingly paid exorbitant prices and dentists have often failed to give me all of my options. I have complete trust in Dr. Lowry. I believe I can expect fair dental charges and I know that he will give me a full accounting of all my options. He is also careful to make my dental experience, as pleasant and painless, as is possible. His staff are also exceptional. His receptionist, Tamara, is a jewel and his assistants are equally kind and helpful. I have never considered a dentist to be my family dentist, as I have seldom gone to the same dentist more than once. I just got off the phone with Dr. Lowry's office. They did an awesome job getting my husband a referral to an oral surgeon with just a phone call. The staff quickly pulled up my husband's chart and were able to identify the problem without him having to waste more time and being in pain longer! I, too, travel from San Francisco Bay area to see Dr. Lowry for my check ups. So gentle, never charges you for silly stuff, and I always trust his judgement when it comes to my problem teeth. The staff is super friendly, and you almost NEVER have to wait in the reception area for your appointment. ALWAYS on time or ready to take you early. He really sticks to his schedule. The staff has also been able to get me in to see him in a pinch. Sometimes I go down to visit family, and call to get an appointment. Despite living in San Diego and having plenty of reasonable dentist options in my area, twice a year I make the two hour drive up to Riverside to see Dr. Lowry. The time, money, and effort are worth it because Dr. Lowry is far and away the best dentist I have ever been to. There is a clear sign on the street, but office is tucked away in a professional's park, so be sure too check out the google street view so you know what you are looking for when you head out. Once inside, the office waiting room is small but charming and quiet. The walls are adorned with art created by his daughters, which adds an endearing touch to the decor. The front desk staff is very nice and accommodating. Kim, the oral hygienist, does great work and fun to talk to. She even has a way of making the tooth polisher a little less intimidating. I noticed that both Kim and Dr. Lowry have a way of engaging me in fluid conversation while I have a variety of instruments lodged in my oral cavity. There was never a moment when I needed to say something, but couldn't due to an abundance of phalanges in my mouth. Somehow they so perfectly paced the conversation that it wasn't an issue. Dr. Lowry is extremely knowledgeable of all things mouth related, and is very thorough in his examinations and explanations about the health of your chompers. He takes the well being of his patients, both physically and mentally, extremely seriously and it shows. Thus, his biggest strength --in my opinion-- is his chair-side manner. The ability to put someone at complete ease while poking their gums with a sharp metal instruments is essential, and Dr. Lowry has that ability in spades. He also takes the time to not only explain his actions and recommendations, but exactly why you do or don't need them. After probably a few too many experiences with docs, I have rarely felt as comfortable with someone with a DDS/MD as I do with Dr. Lowry. If you don't go to the dentist because you're afraid, go see Dr. Lowry. If you have a gnarly abscess (I'm so sorry) go to Dr. Lowry. If you've got some dirt nasty teeth and need'm cleaned up for a big date, go to Dr. Lowry. They make sure your mouth is looking great and that you aren't developing some rare gum disease or oral cancer. That's really important, you know. read more

Today was my first day being in the office and I was terrified and anxiety levels through the roof!! But!!! Left there soooo happy!!! To start, the staff is awesome!!! Tamra helped me over the phone to schedule my appt and already knew me because my husband goes there!! She was so welcoming and made sure I wasn't feeling so anxious by the time I was going in. And the other assistant (darn forgot her name probably due to my nerves) was so good with the X-rays usually they make me gag as gross as that sounds but she was so gentle putting the films in and explained everything every step of the way. Dr Lowry was amazing!!! He explained so much to me, went over X-rays and was so honest with me but in a caring and non intimidating way. He referred me out but can't wait to see them all again for my regular cleanings!!! read more

I've been going to Dr.Lowry since the mid 90's. He and his staff have always provided the most thorough, gentle, dental care in an extremely professional and caring manner. They provide a service that is high 'touch' in addition to high tech. You'll be very hard pressed to find a better practice to meet your dental needs. HIPPA violation!!! While sitting in the waiting room I heard him complaining and gossiping about another patient by name with his staff! This is inexcusable! He lied about my husband being a no call no show when in fact they were just trying to reschedule and he just didn't have time yet. Using mariage problems for their own agenda is disgraceful and ethics can't even be discussed. They are illegally billing customers for emergency visits when they are scheduled and charging more than copays should be so watch your billing! I have to say my family and I were not very good about going to the dentist regularly because of some bad experiences, but knew we needed to find someone we trusted. Started researching and asking around and found Dr. Lowry's office and we could not be happier. The entire staff is wonderful. Dr. Lowry is very informative on any procedure he is doing whether it is just a cleaning or a filling. The office staff makes you feel very welcome from the time you walk in the door until you leave. Dr. Lowry, (Jeff) has been our family dentist for longer than I can recall. Going to a specialist or another dentist only happens when recommeded by him. We see him regularly for scheduled appointments that assure us of good dental health. He makes himself available to his patients 24 hours a day through his phone system. If ever there was a personal dental emergency you can leave a message and he DOES get back to you. Actually, We always look forward to our next appointment, not all can say that about going to a dentist. I like that Dr. Lowry is very hands on and does nearly all of the dental work himself. I've had dentists who I felt relied too much on assistants. He's patient and takes time to fully talk out a condition and/or procedure. He gained my trust quickly. Coming from a time when any dental work would draw tears, I'm still amazed that Dr. Lowry's work has always been virtually painless. I'm happy with all the work he's done for me.
