Had Joshua over today for a house call to service our 13 year old Ridgeway. Josh was on time and went right to work inspecting the clock and said it did not need a cleaning and proceeded to just lubricate the gears, latches, etc. adjusted and tested the chimes. He could've told me it needed cleaning when it really didn't but because of his honesty I paid only for the house call (very reasonable) and my clock continues to run better than ever now. He also educated us on a few points on caring for our clock and answered questions that we had. We will have Josh back again in 3 years as he recommended. We now have a lifetime "doctor" for our beautiful timepiece! read more

Contacted Josh after reading so many stellar reviews to service my grandmother's grandfather clock, that has journeyed over the years from TN to TX to CA and now resides in Palm Springs. Josh and his wonderful wife, made a house call last week, evaluated the clock and took the mechanism back to his shop, where he cleaned and repaired worn parts over the weekend. Had a issue with my old wall clock. I had another clock repair company in Temecula work on the clock. Had it back to them 3 times and they still didn't fix the issue. Did some research and found Jefferson Clock Repair and decided to take my click in to see if the could repair it. Josh looked at the mechanism of the click and identified the problems. I have a Herschede grandfather clock. It has always been difficult to find someone qualified or willing to work on this clock. After some bad experiences with inexperienced people looking at it, I depended on the comments and excellent Yelp reviews on this business. Josh came to my house and was not the least intimidated by this clock and was very knowledgeable about its mechanism. He explained everything to me and showed me where a previous repair was not really a repair but a jerry rigged fix that needed to be done properly. My clock is now functioning as it should. I had the good pleasure of working with Joshua in the repair of a Howard Miller grandfather clock. One of the counter weight gears broke. He came out and easily identified the source of the issue and just as fast had the clock mechanism removed and ready to take back to his store for repairs. Not only did he make the repairs, but he gave the mechanism a thorough cleaning and lubrication. Back to good as new condition! While he was here installing the mechanism, I showed him a very old family heirloom clock my mother gave to me. It had apparently fallen down at my grandparents house and aside from the wooden box of the clock, the rest of the internal pieces were bags. I seriously did not believe this clock was repairable. Josh took a quick look and said he could repair it and get it back into operational order. And at a price that I felt was more than fair...! I called about a clock I was having an issue with hoping to have it fixed. I received a call back from Josh. I appreciated his responsiveness and honesty that most likely he wouldn't be able to fix the issue I was having, but I could take it in if I liked. Most people would have had me take it in and charge me for their time even though they knew they probably couldn't fix it. I didn't end up taking it in and contacted the manufacturer instead - which is why i didn't give it five stars since I can't vouch for the actual work.
