It was very pleasant sitting in their field, watching the traffic pass on 285. Since it was too hot to have anyone stay in the car, we had our pup and kitty (both leashed) in the shade of our picnic table. The only thing that would be nice is if they added umbrellas yo the tables- the table tops and benches were sooooo hot baking in the sun.

She might have been one of the owners, but how friendly and inviting she was really elevated my mood and overall experience. She was super helpful and ran me through what was left of the available bagel options. The rosemary, thyme and sea salt bagel really caught my eye, especially given there were only 3 of them left. I pulled the trigger on it and got it with the lean supreme (turkey sausage, provolone, and egg whites with scallions) which only costed me shy of $11. I'm confident to say that was hands down one of the best bagels I've ever had. The scallions were an amazing touch on the egg whites, the provolone melted in your mouth, and the turkey sausage didn't even taste like I was eating sausage's skinny legend cousin. Four days later and I'm still dreaming of the bagel I had. Counting down the days till I head out west again to reunite with her...

The guy running this joint was super friendly to us and talked to us for a little bit while the food was being prepared. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a bag of chips with a drink. I gotta say, it was a solid burger! I like my burgers very standard and no veggies but regardless, it tasted great!! My wife tried one of the brats that he offers and she really liked it! It's a great option while strolling the town. He also offers other things you can see on the picture of the menu. Judging by the taste of what I had, you wont be dissatisfied. The location is pretty cool. It's tucked away from the main road and feels like a little meadow. It's an experience. Overall, you definitely should come by and try for yourself. It's worth it!

On the positive side, the staff was friendly, service was fast, and the outdoor area was nice. However, paying nearly $70 for two burgers and fries felt way overpriced for what we got. The burgers were very greasy with little flavor. They also advertise ice cream, but it turns out they only sell pre-packaged items. To cap it off, none of the food was labeled, which caused a complete order mix-up. They forgot my tomato, and because nothing was marked, I ended up with pickles on my burger. Since I hate pickles, I couldn't even eat my meal. Nice place to sit outside, but poor value and food execution after waiting through multiple trips to finally try it.

The Bucksnort is a true hidden gem. It has a long and unique history, starting in 1919 as a store. In the 60's it change to a live music and square dancing venue and then eventually morphed into a restaurant and bar by the 70's. Elk creek runs behind the Bucksnort that you can see and hear from the patio. The inside is full of unique mountain/rustic decor and dollar bills everywhere!
