The old adage you get what you pay for is very true at Jeff Computers. $100 an hour can be daunting when you have work done on your computer. You can spend an hour trying to get the dang thing to boot up. Anyway my IE explorer was giving me fits. Jeff''s solution was first try to fix IE when that became impossible he installed Chrome. I have many IE bookmarks and to duplicate the list would be almost impossible. You know find that obscure web site that only you visit? Jeff was able to import all my bookmarks and I am now dealing with a trouble free browsing. I tried to install Chrome myself but IE kept blocking me. Dang it was frustrating. So after two long days of being without my laptop I am now back in business. read more

Khristian is outstanding. Punctual and very knowledgeable. Very responsive to problems.

Service was terrible. Never open and doesnt seem like his employees are allowed to do anything to actually benefit the store.

Quality service and reliable work. Highly recommend.

Service was terrible. Took forever to get my computer back because they just close and open when they want. Not happy with the work done on my computer. Still doesn't work right. The price was outrageous. read more

Be very careful taking your computer to this business for any kind of service. Recently I took my computer for repair and while I was charged an exorbitant $150 to 'fix' the issue, they called me later wanting another $300 just to fix what they called an 'underlying issue'. The owner Jeff is totally unhelpful in taking care of any customer complaints. He just laughs the issue away without any consideration. There are much better options like Geeksquad from Best Buy. Again, be careful when dropping your computer at this place as they keep you hostage once they have your computer. My best advice stay away. read more

Update: After contacting the Better Business Bureau, Jeff's Computers has refunded my $150 service fee, which is what I had requested.

Jeff and the crew have been great to work with over the years. They can handle everything thrown their way and do it in a timely fashion. Hello this was my first and so far only experience with Jeff Computers. I had a friend with a bad HDD. I really liked that he had advised on estimated cost pretty accurately and was able to keep to his estimate (we had a best and worst case scenario options). As it often happens ours was the worst and he was true to his estimate for that case. I would use them again in the future and recommend friends. It is possible that 1 time experience not a lot but at least based on that they had been pretty good. Why 4 stars ? i wish they had moved to the worst case scenario sooner (i am a vivid computer amateur so i had pretty good idea that trying to do non specialized remedies would likely not work however i had given them a chance to prove me wrong). read more

I took a motherboard in that was having problems and they kept it 2 weeks and charged me $100 to tell me it was OK. When I piced up the board I had to ask for the memory chips that they "Forgot" to put back in the board??? Simple waste of money to take your systems here. Go to a professional instead. read more

Filled our request as promised. They were reliable and communicated issues during the process so that we had a choice on how to proceed.i

Nice people but they are way too forgetful and they rarely call you back when you call and leave a message. I had an old laptop that was very slow and essentially unusable. For a very reasonable price, they replaced the hard drive with a solid state drive and updated the operating system for me. Now the thing works great and I can't believe how quickly it boots up. I was about to spend $1,000+ on a new laptop and they were able to make my old one work for a fraction of that cost. read more

I called there to have my computer repaired and ask the lady how long it would take she said it would be about a week. So I told her I was going to pursue other options and she hung up on me. I actually called back and talk to Jeff to let him know that's how his phone person treated customers. He sarcastically asked me if I would be willing to come in and work as a volunteer and then he hung up on me too. Wow, I was just looking to get my computer repaired. Got insulted twice. read more

I took an older computer in to be refurbished. While I thought Jeff's prices were a little high, we were able to talk and got along. Whatever you do, don't ever take your computer in for service at Jeff Computers. Based upon my experience, you will be charged $100 up front for one hour of labor, and will be told that your repair will take one to two weeks. However, if you express concerns that you can't operate without your computer for that lengthy of a period of time, they offer that you can pay an extra $50 to be "moved to the front of the line."When I look back at my dealings with them, this bad business practice still makes my stomach churn with a sick feeling. Buy your next computer instead from Best Buy, and avail yourself of a service they offer called GeekSquad. Whenever you have any problem with your computer, they will applet in and fix it very quickly. and, if you have a question about how to do something on your computer, a professional will do it for you. And the GeekSquad service is available for $99.99, but that is for unlimited service for an entire year. Don't deal with these crooks from Jeff Computers. In my opinion, they are not reputable businesspeople. John read more

They fixed my laptop for around the same price as most other shops I looked into, which was really the only one of the few positive things about this shop. I called to price the repair and the person on the phone told me not much more than "bring it in and we'll look at it." No ballpark numbers, no idea of how long it may take. I took in my laptop and they said it'd be "a few days" until the part arrived, had me pay upfront, and then wanted to keep the laptop. Luckily, I insisted I will keep the laptop (it was still functioning) until the part came in as I need it for work and requested they call me when the part arrived. They never called. So a week later, I called the shop and they said "oh yeah, we have the part." Part of me wondered if they were just "holding my money" since I'd already paid and if they ever would have actually called. I returned my laptop to them that day and was once again told the repair would take "a few days" and I reminded them that I need the laptop for work. After my initial wait and reading some reviews, I was terrified that it would take weeks or months. Fortunately, it was done 3 days later and I was called to pick it up. My other concern with this shop is the condition of the building. The desk area is disgusting and in need of serious renovation. There was a rug (...intended for the floor) on the table top and dog hair everywhere. A little paint and TLC could go a long way to help customers take the business more seriously. Jeff was friendly enough and asked how I was doing each time I came in, but I did not like the vagueness for timelines and pricing. read more

I went to Jeff's Computers on Manchester Rd April 26th with an DAEMON ERROR attached to my email. They won't even look at it until you pay the first hour of service, which is $100. I felt that was fair. I got a call Friday, the 28th that they suggested I have them install AVG anti virus protection, because I didn't have virus protection on my MAC. I agreed to the install. I was informed by one of the workers that they just found virus's and it would be another $100 to remove them.. OK...I'm at the mercy of the Court. I get a call on Friday afternoon that my computer is fixed. I went there on Saturday to pick up my computer, and Jeff, the owner was there. First time dealing with him. My husband suggested I open up my computer and turn it on to make sure everything was right.. VERY GOOD ADVISE. I open my computer and low and behold, I click on the email program and the FATAL DAEMON error pops up.. I was livid, but held my cool, and firmly stated that THAT was why I brought it in. He says, there were no notes about that.. I'll explain why as I continue. So, I left it with Jeff, who said he would look into it, and of course for no extra charges. I am now $258 into getting a old Mac fixed. Monday early evening about 20 minutes before they close, I get a call that states my computer is fixed now. I went there yesterday(Tuesday) and picked up my computer. There were no other charges, but I asked to speak to Jeff in private about the issues I had with dealing with him, although I didn't say everything.. When I asked for a print out of the problem they found...OMG. It was a major inconvenience. I did get a print out. I asked the lady, who is the mom of Jeff to have someone sign it. As I spoke with Jeff, he tells me it is a standard $200 to do a virus removal. REALLY..Why wasn't I charged that right off the bat. AND..what the heck were they doing that took another $100 of their time to "FIX" the problem, when they didn't fix the problem. VERY shady at best. NOW. My computer is fixed. I have a 30 day guarantee.. and I will Never ever use this place again. HERE ARE SOME OTHER REASONS WHY: Jeff's mom is the gal that takes the computer in for repair. She seems to be hard of hearing, and hard at seeing. I can deal with that. I Can NOT deal with an unfriendly, rude, harsh person..I don't care who they are. NO Thank you for your business.. nothing. The place is also filthy. There is a huge dog that barks at people at the counter. Dog toys scattered on a filthy rug. Her name is Mary Lou. She won't tell you that. She will only say she is Jeff's mom. So also, there is another young man working there, WIL. I don't know if he's the problem with the repairs. He is the one that actually called me about the job being finished. BUT the thing that really got me.. When I went to pick up my computer, Jeff was working on something with Wil. Mary Lou could not find my ticket. I told Jeff while he was there that I wanted to speak to him privately. He said ok. When Mary Lou finally found my computer in the cabinet, she laid it on the table and said something like, "Here's your computer". NO Thank you. Nothing. I said.."Excuse me I need to speak to Jeff". She lamblasted "Well why didn't you talk to him when he was here. He has to leave" She gets Jeff...who I then asked to speak to privately. I have not said the Business name with this whole ordeal until today. I advise you..Jeff surely knows his stuff when it comes to computers..or he wouldn't have been around for the few years he's been here. But, the Mother is a piece of work, and so with the Mother, the dog, the filth...My family and I will not be going back. And If I have a problem pop up with my computer, I won't be dealing with them. read more

good , fast computer service. simple as that.

This guy quoted me like a hundred bucks to fix my tower. the video went out, and i couldnt get any signal to my monitor. So he gives me the quote, and then asks me to pay BEFORE the job is done, AND THEN asks me for a tip BEFORE the job is done! I tipped him 7 dollars on top of the 100 i paid. I show up a week later, my computer is fixed, and he tells me itll be another hundred dollars. Im pretty sure replacing a graphics card isnt that difficult or expensive. Oh yeah, also he asked for another tip. the computers working fine now, THANKS JEFF. read more

This guy is a rip off. I had a sleep/power issue. Jeff's guy said they would need to run $100.00 system check. I also had them put memory in as well. When I got home the power issue came back in a day. I found on YouTube the simple setting which fixed the problem. That made me check the price charged for the memory. Best Buy had the memory for $49.00. I was charged $120 by Jeff's computers. Totally took advantage of me. Take my advice do not go here you will be sorry! read more

Worst place, don't go. Overcharge customers without talking to them first. Also lost my cables that I had provided for the repair. Kept over promising on completion date and had to go back twice. DON'T GO HERE!! If I could give negative stars I would. I brought my laptop in for a screen repair in the early/middle of June. We are now in MID SEPTEMBER and I still don't have it back. I gave them some slack in the beginning because of COVID and I knew parts were slow. But now it's like they are holding is hostage. I guess while putting the new screen on they broke other parts of my laptop and now have basically fixed the entire thing. It's not just the lack of ability to fix my equipment that has me pissed off, but the lack of caring from the OWNER. Every time I talk to Jeff, I'm giving a new reason why I can't come get it. Even though I've been told 3 times before it's ready to go. When I go pick it up they have found some magical new issue. The lack of communication and professionalism has me confused on how they are even still in business. Everyone I have talked too has had nothing bad but things to say about this place, and I will NEVER BE BACK. Once I actually get my laptop back that is. Which honestly won't be until fucking next year at this point. read more

I dropped off my computer for a repair and told them it was and older computer and I was hesitant to invest more money into it. Jeff said it would be $100 to take a look at it. I told him I wanted a quote before they were to fix it. After a week, I called to check on it. The woman looked up my ticket and said they were waiting on a part. I told her I never received a call with a quote. She apologized and said the new part would be $40. I said that would be fine. I went in to pick up the computer and was told the cost of repair was $140. I told her I was told $40. She said that was only the cost of the part and that there was technicians time to install it. I argued the additional cost telling her I was never made aware of the additional $100. She called someone and they agreed to drop the $100. I paid the $40 and left. Upon starting the computer up at home, It was still broken!! I immediately called and spoke to the same woman. She pulled up the ticket and said the tech made a note that it was working 8 out of 10 times they started it up. She said that was satisfactory to them. I told her that 8/10 wasn't good enough. She said that they were hoping the cable would fix the problem but that there is another part they can order and install but there would be additional costs. I couldn't believe what I was being told. In closing, I spent $140 for a professional computer repair shop to tell me my computer works 8 out of 10 times it is started. I would advise anyone who is thinking about this place to continue to look because this place obviously doesn't know what they are doing. read more

What terrible service. I dropped my laptop off to see if they could get it working again. They charged me $100 to drop it off. That should've been my first warning. After about two weeks of nothing, I stopped by yesterday. They told me that they were finishing up the download... And it would be ready today. I was like great. Today I call, Again I had to call they didn't call me, and I was told my computer was ready. I send my daughter over to pick it up and some woman called me from Jeff computers. She told me I owed another hundred dollars because they had to restore it to factory default. I said no one ever mentioned another charge and that is the reason I brought it in. My request when I brought it in was can you clean this often make it like it was the day I bought it. No mention of another charge. I said I don't want to pay that charge because no one told me about that charge. They did agree to that. Then the woman asked me if I could identify my daughter. I said just hand my daughter the computer and let her go. I know it's my daughter I sent her there. The woman said she has no ID and other kids come and pick up their parents computers and sell them. I said are you effing kidding me? I sent her there I know it's her give her the computer. The woman hung up on me. This is a sad excuse for a business. They need to hire someone that scores at least a one out of 10 on the social skills scale. Don't get suckered into this trap. read more

I had an Acer laptop with a USB port not working. I took it to Jeff Computers and in a couple of days was told it was fixed. I was charged $160. I took it home and tested it first thing. It worked for about 5 min. then quit. I immediately took it back. The next day Jeff told me that the problem actually was that it had a crack in the board underneath the port. He said because it was working when it left the shop any refund or additional work without charge was not possible. It would have been nice if these computer experts could have been more thorough and diagnosed the problem correctly the first time instead of putting a band aid on it, taking my money and then saying sorry not our problem. Jeff did end up giving me a $20 wireless mouse for my trouble, not exactly willingly. I had to twist his arm to do it. Haven't been back since. read more
