One of my favorites, consistently good service, really good food, and great wings, easily the best in Apex

Its a great restaurant/bar. Perfect place to watch a game. All the girls that work there are so nice and friendly! Great customer service.

I have been to JD's Tavern a handful of times now, due to the convenient location, and it has consistently been great. The space itself is pretty large, they have a bar area, dining area and outdoor seating area (this space is split into smoking and non-smoking). They also have several TV's to watch the sports games on. Every month they do a brewery invasion which is 4 taps by a craft brewery across the country. You can opt for one or try a flight of all 4 for $4. The food and service has been great each and every visit. The last time I visited I got the special which was a steak sandwich with pesto, tomato and mozzarella cheese, yummy. As far as side options go I recommend the cheesy potatoes au gratin or sweet potato tots. A must visit bar in the Apex area. read more

JD's has become our go to local bar. The food is consistently awesome, we love the chicken tenders, kicking shrimp po'boy, and crispy Brussels sprouts. We come here at least once per month to do the beer invasion flight for $5. New brewery featured each month. Service is always good. Beer is always cold. Tried several cocktails now and love the strawberry lemonade and pomegranate margarita. read more

The grilled Asian Wings are the bomb...I can't even order fried wings anymore...this place has spoiled me...they're nice size and the Asian sauce is great... The only reason they don't get 5 stars is they aren't real good at the Take Out order thing...the hostess sends the call to the bar and the bar is usually slammed so they take forever to pick up ...if they increase their focus on take out orders this place could really take off sales wise because a lot of their menu is real good read more

This is an excellent bar/restaurant which deserves four or five stars if it weren't for no carbonation in their club soda. There is nothing worse then hanging with friends, enjoying the food and not being able to get a Vodka Club. I've actually brought my own soda water into the bar since I knew we would be there for a while. I will say it is the go to restaurant we end up at when we're meeting a group of people or if we want a quick bite to eat. The Tuna Tacos are delicious but the grilled wings, naked, with sauce on the side are absolutely the best. I love their Burgers, Shrimp Fajitas and Gyros and they make really good salads. We always get the same server, KAT, who is a doll and is always on top of everything. This family bar/restaurant truly is a great place to eat and meet your family or friends, unless your looking for a drink with Club Soda or Tonic! read more

This place is the spot for the best wings in The Triangle Area!! Oh wow, get the slow roasted grilled wings with Honey Buffalo or Dave's Choice. The meat literally falls of the bone. Beyond having great food, the service is amazing. We have been here 3 times and the place is consistent! Also, if you are an NFL fan, Sunday's are crazy here! Full sound with NFL red zone as well as the bar manager jumping in on the PA. They give away prizes and just genuinely have a great time. This is now our official spot when we are in the mood for great wings!! Keep up the excellent work JD's!! read more

Food was good,beer selection pretty good, service was fairly slow and it wasnt that crowded Felt like waitress just disappeared for lengthy periods of time so it was a bit annoying. Might try it again as sometimes you just get the slow server. read more

Today's visit has been awesome. Tried some new things like The White chocolate peppermint martini An explosion of flavors and sensacion in your mouth....so a good start I would say! The I asked for Banh mi Vietnamese pork sandwich....holy cow....the best of the best....and this is the first time I ask for it, but for sure is not the last And side of Naked Baker skinless potatoes loaded w/ butter, cheese, sour cream and bacon....woahhhhhhh!!!!! This is not your normal bar food!!! Excellent wings and I mean excellent. They grill on instead of fry them which adds the flavor and way less grease. We had the Philly Cheesesteak and the fries were awesome. The service was really amazing so friendly! I was visiting from Durham but will be coming back!!! Excellent job!!! read more

It's a great local bar with good beer selection and good food variety and quality. We went on a Friday night and they told us the wait was 45 minutes for a table because the kitchen was backed up. I appreciated the honesty as opposed to sitting down and being frustrated. read more

Best sports bar food in Apex by a pretty good margin. Highly recommend the nachos, buffalo chicken wrap, tots, onion rings, burgers and sliders but everything that I have had there is good. Have lived in Apex for over 20 years. read more

OMG! Put some chili and chicken on those nachos. You wont regret it! But be prepared, the portion is huge. It is a must share. A smaller selection is the cuban sandwich, it maybe be smaller in size than the nachos. But the taste, is simply the best cuban around. They have music videos playing on at numerous flat screens, a friendly staff, and great bar. With a wide variety of appetizers, and entrees, you will have plenty to choose from. read more

Looked for a place that had buzztime. Comparing to Buffalo Wild Wings might be a bit unfair, but that was our go to for buzztime. In short, service was way better, food tasted great, came out fast, my ice tea never hit the bottom, Trivia boards were working, and we finished our food. A tiny bit load and sensory overload at times - but we will be coming here now for our trivia kick. read more

This is one of our favorite spots in Apex! We have become a regular here.... Pre-COVID, we loved the fact that you could come in there at any time there were open (even late night) and the full kitchen would be open. The staff is always a blast as well. We spend almost every Sunday here during football season and think that the raffles during the 1pm game are amazing. The rotating tap and consistent drink specials don't hurt either. :-) read more

I'm now posting my previous comment I left in draft. Decided to give JDs another try, bad decision. Burned the wings and mixed up the order. Called and asked for a manager, they said not now... posting a picture of today's burnt wings along with my previous thoughts: JD's Dave's Way wings were once legendary. Ordered 35 for take out based on what we once held as the ultimate wing, exceptional really. Forget about it. This has fallen so far I'm really at a loss for words. We've been disappointed previously but now realize it may be a lost cause. Perhaps they're content with their loyal fan base and no longer inspired to produce consistently great fare. Sad. read more

The food here is good, the staff is friendly, and it's always a good place to go for games as well as good food. Not your standard bar fare - the menu is a bit more upscale, but has the basics you'd expect as well (wings, fried stuff, etc.) Their pretzel is one of the better ones in the area. The BIG downside to this place is the lack of ability to order take out. There's no online ordering options, and I've NEVER been able to place an order over the phone in less than 5 minutes. They answer, put me on hold, and often come back and ask me to hold some more. In some cases they actually put be on hold, then come back after awhile and tell me to call back in 10 or 15 minutes (so I then order from Rudy's across the road, which does online ordering and has an equally delicious menu.) The owners of this place need to enter the 21st century and add in the ability to place orders online .. If there was online ordering (or at least fast on the phone ordering) this would likely be a 5 star review. read more

This was our first visit, trying to find more local places to try out. They weren't too busy, kind of slow for a weekend lunch. We had no wait time and were greeted promptly at our table. Honestly, I was really hoping to give a good review. I thought that this place was Covid-compliant, but sadly it's not. Absolutely NO customers were wearing masks. Bar stools were pushed up against one another and people were absolutely NOT social-distancing. It was actually kind of gross. Until this pandemic is over, I will definitely not be back. Staff were not enforcing social-distancing, nor were they stopping people from moving bar stools. The staff were very nice, especially Ali. After reading all the great reviews about jds tavern I decided to take my wife there for dinner and was not impressed with the food. Everything else was fine the beer was good the waitress was ok and the atmosphere was nice but the food really. Ordered the philly cheese steak with fries or should I say " salty fries ". The cheese steak was skimpy very little meat and the fries were so salty . I also had the coleslaw which had a funny taste. Would I go back to jds tavern maybe if they hire some better cooks that can actually cook.... read more

We came here to meet someone for dinner. I was a little hesitant since I wanted to eat and not drink at the bar. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. We were seated at a comfy booth. The portions of the food was awesome. My friend couldn't even make a dent in the nachos! My husband's chicken fingers were long and hand breaded and very light. The server mentioned that the cooks work really hard in the kitchen and bread the chicken fresh every day. Neomonde makes the bread! My chicken wrap was flavorful and the guacamole was an added treat in it. Loved the unique baked potatoes that were sliced and loaded! Definitely pleasantly surprised with the food quality at a pub.
