I had the French dip which was nothing to write home about kind of like reheated lunch meat, and the naked taters as a side. Potatoes were good! Cesar salad meh- husbands Greek salad 5/5! His patty melt was out of this world. We ordered medium well and pretty sure it was still mooing when it came out, but it was so good we didn't care. Wings were huge too! They were like fried chicken, moist and greasy in a delicious way. But our appetizers, despite ordering ten minute prior to food, came out five minutes after food got to table. We were hungry enough to eat the damn table though, but still. My drinks were fantastic - that is a heavy handed bar tender back there! Cheap too. I did see a waitress sniffing like nose deep into someone else's drinks on the way to a different table which was a weird flex, but okay. Our waitress though - oof. The reason for the low stars We sat for about ten minutes before we asked another waiter (who seemed awesome) for water. Our waitress had walked by at least four times. She wasn't very friendly, didn't seem to give a shit that we were at the table to be honest. Maybe she was having a rough day, but still when you're spending seventy bucks on food and drink - it'd be nice to not be sitting there parched, staring at your cup that has been empty for fifteen minutes. Overall - super awesome atmosphere. (No car seat sling, be aware. There were older kids like toddler age there and we ended up sitting the car seat on the seat, but just know that). Not bad, not fantastic. Let me start by saying our service was great! The gentleman was super friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cool. Nice and dark with a good tavern feel. So we enjoyed that. My main issue was the food. We ordered pickle chips, which honestly was our main draw based off Yelp pics. Maybe we came on a bad day, but ours did not taste fresh. Ours were kind of sour? For entrees, my friend got a salad with shrimp she didn't finish. Another tried the chicken cordon bleu special sandwich and I got the cubano. The chicken sammich was impressive I must say. It was huge. I almost wish we had split it. The Cuban was good. I mean can't really go wrong with ham, pulled pork and cheese lol. But I got the Brussel sprouts with mine and I was pretty disappointed. They were crispy alright, but only had some salt. Pretty bland. A nice light sauce probably would've been good since they were pretty dry. They did have a full bar and plenty of selections there. I'd say it's a good place for a snack and a drink. My husband and I tried this place for the first time because I wanted a new place and a burger, and it did not disappoint! The burger was cooked exactly how I requested. I've eaten here multiple times. 1st time - had a salad on the patio with about 10 ladies. Enjoyed my experience immensely. 2nd time - had a hot sandwich inside with my spouse. Food was okay. Nothing to wrote home about. Atmosphere was fine. No complaints. 3rd time - went in with my kids and husband. We found a bone in our order of Brussels Sprouts (the appetizer). After that, I just could not enjoy my meal. When we got back in the car, only the Cuban sandwich had good reviews. Haven't been back since. My favorite part about the meal was the wings. They were smoked and fall-of-the bone delicious. They also have a Saturday college game day special where the wings are 20% off. JD's is named after the propietors (Jim and Dave) and it is a restaurant and bar with high top seating, regular seating inside and out and lots of televisions. If you are looking to watch a particular game, you can find it here. Daniel had the banh mi and it rivals the sandwiches we have had at Vietnamese restaurants. I had the chicken pita yet I would not order it again. It was a bit bland for my taste and I would opt for the banh mi or something else next time. The breads are sourced from Neomonde and the menu has a mixture of appetizers, sandwiches and a few hot dishes. They support local breweries and had some Southern Pines specials on draft. This place was such a pleasant surprise. For whatever reason we found ourselves one early evening in Cary and discovered this place on Yelp. We love trying new places and have truly enjoyed experiencing all the new eateries in Cary. We were blown away at how many different types of entrees that were on the menu. Such a diverse amount on types of food. They serve Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean and American. We sat at the bar and all 3 bartenders were awesome. Nicole gave us such excellent service. She helped with beer/cider selections(which they have a ton of options) and gave great detailed comments on the food to help us order. Everything we ate was soooo yummy. The atmosphere is casual & friendly. We liked this place so much that a month later we drove all the way from N. Raleigh to go a second time. Nicole remembered our names which shocked us. And of course we tried different food options and they were also delicious. This place is going to be one that we go to often because everything about this restaurant is fantastic. We have become a regular at JDs and we have good reason to be. We first found this restaurant while exploring new homes in the area for our upcoming move a few months ago. From our very first time we went to lunch at this restaurant we had friendly service and the food is absolutely amazing!!!!!! JD's is a local favorite and we definitely can see why with the amazing food variety of items on the menu and an outstanding bartender mixing some spectacular cocktails to include the most incredible pomegranate margarita I have ever tasted! When we come in the evening for dinner the bar is always busy and everyone seems happy. They have plenty of TVs to watch sports or music videos, some thing for everyone. Fabulous food and great service!! We keep coming back!! A huge shout out to the blackened Brussel sprouts, my husband could probably live on these alone. I had heard from a friend about the amazing nachos and I wanted to give them a try, these nachos came out and it was enough nachos for about five people, I went home with two boxes full of nachos which I enjoyed the next day, they weren't that bad on the next day either. The online ordering for their website no longer works. When I called the location to order, I was told by someone who sounded very young that "we can't take orders over the phone". When I asked to speak to someone who could take my order, I was put 'on hold' which was a dead line and five minutes. I had to hang up b/c no one came on the line to take my order. When I called back three times, I was told that "it isn't our fault that no one picked up" and then they hung up. Grilled chicken wings are great - but not when you cannot order them. The last time I was in the actual restaurant, it was dirty and falling apart. The area that you are directed to to pick up your order if you can call in one is toward the back at the end of the bar (as I was instructed by the hostess) and no one acknowledged that I was there to pick up an order! JD's is a great place to catch a game. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 12:50 in time for the 1:00 games and asked to be seated where they'd show the Redskins/Patriots game. (Note: They have Sunday ticket! Go a little early to ensure you're near a TV playing your game). Lively place but not too loud where you can't hear each other. They had a spin the wheel type raffle throughout the afternoon and were giving out some pretty decent prizes -- JD gift cards, free drinks, apps, etc. I'd recommend this place for any age (I went with my 10 year old son and there were other kids there too). Plenty of tabletop and booth seating, two large bars and even a corner that looks like your living room with couches, table and rug. Their food was great - better than your average pub food. We ordered the Nachos with brisket. The portion of nachos could have easily filled 4 adults but I just wish there was a bit more brisket. We also ordered their wings which come crispy/breaded, grilled, slow-roasted and boneless. We enjoyed the wings we got (plain, extra crispy with buffalo on the side) and, again, HUGE! one of them looked like a small head of cauliflower. They're offered in orders of 5, 12 and 24. The grilled wings also looked delicious - I would come back for those. Very extensive beer list with separate seasonal and local drafts. I had the seasonal flight - $5 for four 4 oz. beers. Arrived this evening at 9:25 pm. Sat at a table due to the bar seating being at full capacity. The young man who brought the menu to me also brought me the iced tea I ordered. 10 minutes later he came by to tell me he'd come by in a minute to take my order since I told him initially that I would be ordering dinner. 10 additional minutes later, I decided to leave after seeing him walking around doing nothing...not a care in the world. I spent about 25 minutes inside this place slowly sipping an iced tea. Then I went across the street to another local pub (Rudy's Pub and Grill) for food, I arrived at 10 PM which is when their limited menu items are offered. I'd like to start by saying our waitress was incredible, the food was incredible, and the beer was cold. I felt terrible for the employees. Even the chef had to step in at one point to act as hostess. He was physically moving tables around, bussing tables, and seating guests. Because of how understaffed they were, it took a long time to place and receive our orders. Again, they did all they could and did an incredible job given how busy it was during the NFL games. One waitress. One chef. One bartender. No hostess. Packed tavern. I'm disappointed that ownership is proud enough to post their names on the front door but couldn't either step up to fill in themselves or offer better pay/benefits to attract talent. read more

All the food here is really good but I would highly recommend the philly cheese steak.
