Honestly do not come here. The lady spent more time arguing with me that my nails are straight and I'm wrong than she did even trying to fix it. They were non engaging and came off as fake nice. This is not where you wanna go if you want to be able to trust your nail tech. Absolutely would not recommend under any circumstances, worst nails I have honestly ever walked out with on top of the fact that I was communicating I disliked them. Additionally, my fingers hurt from the filing after. My nails are 100% crooked and in top of that they put the thickest acrylic on my nails. Not satisfied with the place at all. First time coming here. I got a gel fill-in and and my nails are all uneven and chunky looking because of how the polish was laid. I also got a gel pedicure. The scrub and everything was great, my feet feel soft and smooth. However, the same day I got my toes done the polish came off of one of my nails that night while lying in bed. Obviously I came back to get it fixed. I paid nearly $100 bucks for this. Totally not worth it and surprisingly they were packed with clients. It could've just been the nail tech but idk. I've been here twice now. The shop is located in a little shopping center near big lots and family dollar (in case your gps gets wonky). I come here for Mimi- found her on IG and she does beautiful work (nailsbymimiiii). The shop is usually busy and there's a decent amount of seating for waiting. Most of the staff seem pretty nice and funny. I would recommend making an appointment because they're pretty busy. I think they offer drinks and snacks- I've seen others with them but I have never been offered anything. I don't think they typically break down the price for you unless you ask- so if you're concerned ask beforehand. Both sets I received were gorgeous and a bit more extra than what I normally get due to special occasions. At least two of the techs are very up to date on trend and can give you poppin nails. read more

I always get the same thing , manicure pedicure , clear no gel. Went in yesterday and the man who did my nails tried to make me pay mid way thru the session and I've never had that done before . Very rude to ask someone to pay when they aren't even finished putting the coat on my nails . He was the first and only person to ask me to do this, so I asked the lady next to me has she ever done that to someone and she told me it's because He was new, and didn't want me to mess up my nails... it's just a clear coat...it's Normal to pay after drying . The usual old lady I get will walk away and let me sit there to dry not a worry from her . The man didn't deserve the tip I gave him . Everyone told me to go here but I don't know why. My manicure did not go well but my pedicure did. An older lady at table 10 (says 6) did my manicure and a younger one did my pedicure. My first problem is that I called the night before and told them I needed my toes and nails done. I asked when was the latest I could come in to get that done. They told me 7pm. I showed up at 7pm and they had me waiting and also told me there wasn't enough time for a pedicure. My second problem is that the technician didn't really know the colors she had available. I showed her a picture of what I wanted but she didn't know if she had those colors (I've been to a place where I show a picture and they go get the closest match). The sample color did not match the color available. She tried to find one that was close so I guess I'll give her that. My third problem is I said I didn't want tips/acrylics. She said that she couldn't give me a dip powder manicure without acrylics. (Mind you my original nails had grown out and she cut them low. I've been places where they've only added tips to the nails that were broken and painted my regular nail. My fourth problem is that I told her I wanted my nails really short. I emphasized it when she put the acrylics on, when she cut the acrylics, and before she put the top coat on. She had an attitude that I wanted them shorter and shorter. To the point that she said she couldn't go shorter . My fifth problem is that the color blue was all around my nail and some of the glue was harden on my skin under my nail. My nails hurt for at least a day from too much filing and manipulation. I ended up leaving without the color or length I wanted. I probably won't be back. If I do, I'd try a different technician. Everyone says my nails look fine. And they do, it's just not what I wanted. Also they charge $5 for each color you want and $5 for a top coat of matte instead of shiny. read more

I was told this was $80 as he was painting my nails. I asked why and he said $10 for the design and $70 for the fill in. I've been here before so I knew he was lying. I asked to see the price list once he was done and they would not let me see it. Then I was able to see it and lady said the prices are "old". They said I was charged $50 for a full set since I got 3 nail fixes. On the price list the full set is $40 and fill in is $18. I was charges $20 because my nails are so long and another $10 for the design. They lie and charge people whatever they want. Then I was rushed out the pedicure chair and sat at a nail table, no fan or anything on my toes and while sitting there now another girl runs up in my face with the card swipe machine telling me my bill. The only people I recommend are Lindsay and unfortunately Kelvin doesn't work here anymore. The service was horrible, I got French nails and the guy who did my nails rushed through it. He didn't paint the top part of my nails so I went back for him to fix it and he rushed through them again leaving it to dry unevenly. When I shower kersten, she made it seem as though she didn't see what was wrong as I explicitly showed her exactly what I was dissatisfied with. On top of that, after being told Lindsay can do my toes, I was given another person. I kept asking the lady doing my toes to file and cut them, she didn't do that. I kept emphasizing the filing part and she then handed me the nail file, which I responded I'm here bc I can't do my own nails... how am I paying for a service where she's giving me the nail file to file my own nails with... my toes honestly look like I could have done them myself. The worst part was the customer service and how as I was advocating for the things I was unsatisfied about there was no one trying to actually better the situation. 10/10 do not recommend this place. read more

This nail salon is mad busy & mainly has a blank clientele yet always asking people if they paid. I spent my money here religiously but after they charged me $150 for a set that didn't even last more than 3 days I've had enough. They rush, inconsistent with prices, and highly unsanitary. They always ask to see your payment multiple times before you leave and it's annoying. They always think somebody is running off with money and it's highly disrespectful especially to a regular customer that was showing up every 2-3 weeks for over a year and I TIP VERY WELL, OVER $50 TIP PER SERVICE. During the current COVID-19 pandemic JD Nails is very sanitary. The quality of service is great & they're consistent. Hue has been my nail technician for almost 2 years & he's very professional. The owner & his wife know who they're frequent customers are & they make you feel very comfortable. The technicians that don't speak English well are patient & if they don't understand you they'll ask another technician to translate without becoming irritated. At first I really liked this salon, but the past two times I have gone I have had issues. Last time I explained that I do not like gel polish on top of my dip manicure. I have been to a few different nail salons, and they have always put the dip powder top coat on my nails regardless of what I have done. Today I explained this again, and they argued with me about getting a gel top coat. I explained that the gel peels off my nails because my hands are often in water as I'm a part time bartender. What really solidified me not coming here again was that after putting the dip powder on, the girl, Dee Dee, began to grind away at my natural nail underneath the dip powder. She took a huge chunk of my REAL nail away, and the owner, Cindy, told me some crap about how after getting your nails dipped so many times they begin to "curl" and they will cut your entire nail down. I explained to her over and over again that I have had dip powder on my nails for four years or better, and no other salon has had this issue. I also told her that at every other salon I have been to, they will ensure the old color is COMPLETELY removed, but I have yellow on my nails from when they did my nails two months ago. You can see yellow on my middle nail in the picture attached, and see how much they cut my nail. My nail was the length of the pink dip before the girl drilled it away. Cindy said that she would give me a discount and finished my nails. The girl who started my nails, however, sat there LAUGHING about what she had done to my nails and talking to coworkers about how she doesn't understand the problem. No one corrected her or sent her away, which only made the matter worse. When a customer is upset, allowing your employees to laugh and talk about that customer IN FRONT of that customer is just poor business. In the end, I was charged FULL PRICE for my ruined nails. I realized this after they swiped my card, and I had to tell them about their mistake. I was dismissively handed $10.00 with them talking about how I left no tip for the awful nail tech that trashed my nails. Even with taking vitamins and biotin to help with nail and hair growth, my nails do NOT grow much. They just kept repeating "it will be fine when you come next time. They will grow."
