Overpriced and food quality has gone way down from our past visits. I remember when all the dishes were prepared well.

Friendly staff and great food! You can catch the game or play quick draw at the bar . And the beer is ice cold with frosted glasses

I love coming to this bar/restaurant. The bartenders and waitresses are friendly and attentive. They takethe time to remember your likes and dislikes when it comes to your order The food is very good and they have great happy hour deals. My only suggestion would be for them to change up their menu more often. When I open their menus I always hope to see something new to try but alas the menu is the same as its been for the last few years. Other then that it's a great evening out. I thought this place was a hidden gem. For the Gamblers, They have Quick Draw and a Scratch Off Vending Machine. A nice size bar, too. My food was delicious! Great French Fries. "Wasn't a good sign when Mike's Place (one) closes before the second" This was a great go-to spot when reuniting with some H.S. friends. I'm sad to know it is no longer in existence. They had a sweet staff and your usual selection of bar food. (90% fried, 5% soup, 2.5% salads, 2.5% "why is this on the menu?") Had always been a central location from myself (Mastic Beach) and my friends (Mastic-Shirley). A short drive after a couple of drinks is obviously key. I placed an order for my son's birthday dinner on the 26th and we ordered wings, sampler platter, baked clams and penne a la vodka. Our food was not up to par and we were unhappy. I called and spoke with the manager John who inquired about my food and rectified the situation by telling me to come back another time and they will remake what I had ordered. I called today to order and spoke with John who remade all the food I ordered and brought it to my car to meet me. They went above and beyond and our food was much better than the original time we ordered. I respect that as a good business they made a promise on their word and were very cordial while doing so. Went on a Wednesday around 6p. Luckily we got there early enough to get a seat at the bar. We prefer bar seating and it definitely filled up pretty quickly. They have a pretty decent beer selection with some nice IPAs. We got the burger sliders, wings, and french onion soup. The French onion soup definitely hit the spot on such a cold, windy night. The sliders were just eh and the wings were very good! The wings had a nice crisp and sauce on them. read more

I've been to Mikes three times since moving into the area. The first two times we sat at the bar in the same spot. Great beer selection and everything tasted fresh and cold. First time I ordered seafood pasta which was great. Second time we just got drinks and mozz stix which were as good as any I've ever had. Third time we actually sat in one of the rooms near the back. Not the farthest one out, which is kind of like a sun room- but the one in between that and the larger dining room. Place is bigger than we thought! We really liked this room because there were only two tables in it and one huge tv. It was a little private, other than people walking out to the porch like room. I ordered wings and a cowboy burger, both of which were great. Wings maybe 6 or 7/10, but as I always say I am a wing snob. Sauce could have been better it was a little watery, but the wings had a nice crispy char on them. The burger on the other hand was very very good, 9/10. I got it without onions. Service was top notch, all of the wait staff were helpful even those serving other tables asked how our meal was. Very fast and attentive. Can't really say enough about the good service. Also the decor inside is very nice and tasteful. Appears to be recently remodeled. Overall a great place to grab some food and a few beers. Note: they had sculpin ipa on tap! $9 a pint isn't cheap enough to justify more than one, but damn that's a good beer. We will definitely be back!! read more

Good place to get a burger and a beer, maybe some wings and mozzarella sticks. Go beyond that and your 50/50 at getting a really good meal. The prices are moderate, the service is hot or miss, and the environment is casual and relaxed. I go here 5-10 times a year only because my brother lives locally and it's an easy place to get together. read more

Mike's Place has always been a great place to go, but now it's even better! Their makeover and new ownership has done great things! It's absolutely beautiful inside! All of the bartenders and staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Drinks are made well, as is the food. We love the wings, burgers, and marinated steak sandwich. My husband swears by the potato salad, I prefer the sweet potato fries. The daily specials are great, too! I had linguine in white clam sauce the other day, so delicious! I wish they would serve more local beers, since lately Long Island has seen many great breweries come into existence, like Great South Bay Brewery, and they have so many taps that they could get rid of some of the "average" beer and bring in some truly special things. That's pretty much my only negative! Get here early on Friday or Saturday nights, it gets packed quickly! read more

I really hate making this post, but here goes...I have patronized a local restaurant since it's opening, Mike's Place/JC"s at Mike's place. During the pandemic they did everything right. They seperated tables and installed plexiglass between tables. Their food and service was always great. Unfortunately due to the pandemic my husband and I have not dined out much, but we decided to go to this restaurant and have lunch as I was craving their salmon special, which is always delicious. Upon entering my Husband noticed that the dividers were down and just commented "oh you don't have the plexiglass up anymore". Right off the bat the waitress firmly stated "if you don't like it don't come out". By no means did my husband mean anything by it. Since not dining out much anymore we were not aware of the regulations, but again he meant nothing by it. He started talking to the waitress about the new variant and she kept repeating" if you don't like it don't come out". What she actually meant was if you don't like it don't come here. When I placed my order for the salmon special she told me they don't have it because the cost of the salmon went up and it was too expensive. Looking at the menu I commented looks like everything went up. She came back by saying "well we have to eat". I even joked and said "gas is coming down". By the way half their menu is MP (market price). We placed our order and part of it came out wrong. Another waiter asked what was wrong and we told him about the waitress attitude (who happens to be the owners sister) I ordered wings with the the hot sauce on the side as my husband can't eat it. He was more than happy to take them back and redo them. Well within minutes there were out and they were undercooked so we wrapped up our food and left. Market price for wings, $13.50 for 8 wings that were undercooked $20 for a burger with frozen french fries. I can buy 4 chickens for that price. I realize prices have sky rocketed and restaurants lost a lot during the pandemic and I am in agreement with raising their prices. What I don't agree with is the treatment we received there. I am known for defending myself, but I was speechless. It's my husband I feel bad for because he didn't deserve to be treated like that. After calling the owner to let him know what happened he said "I can't see my sister saying that, but I will talk to her and call you back". I realize it's the holiday's and they are probably very busy, but I gave him ample enough time to return my call and he never did. I wasn't looking for a free meal, drink or whatever just an apology for the way she treated us. Well, they lost out because my husband and I will never step foot in their place again!!!! read more

Mikes place is a good local American bar restaurant. Great burgers, prime rib, steaks, seafood,lots of good appetizers and don't forget the drinks. I use to come here a lot when I lived out east. I highly recommend Mikes place if you live in Shirley or mastic read more

First time here, wait was a bit longer than I expected. Fortunately the staff was very friendly. Once seated we were placed in what seemed to be the second extension... will they forget us back here? They didn't! We only had burgers this time around... they were great! We will be back to sample more of the menu. read more

I found this restaurant when in the area, searching for food nearby and I feel lucky that I did. The restaurant was spotless with dividers and adequate space between tables. The staff was incredibly friendly offered fantastic service. Their menu has a variety of choices and with three of us, we had a nice variety of excellent food. Don't know what is going on with this place but its like the third time in a row that the service was horrible. You walk in and its says wait to be seated! Every time lately people just walk by and say nothing. Finally some teenage boy walks over without a smile and mumbles how many. Jeez, I hope I m not putting you out! Once your seated and get your pint, savior it because I think they leave to go to the actual brewery or something because it takes literally forever to get your second round, food came before the round did? This is definitely my favorite place to get fish Pointblank. They have the freshest fish you'll ever eat at a restaurant. From what I hear the get it from from the fish market across the street. My favorite is the blackened salmon, they also have baby top fresh carrots that are amazing. When I use to eat meat their buffalo wings were everything to me. The house buffalo sauce is to die for. Their is nothing in the menu that disappoints. All in all it's a great restaurant, clean and still is always amazing. read more

Used to be good right after opening - about 4 years ago. Food not worth charges. Ordered gin and tonic - no gin has been detected, watered down. There are about 50+ tv sets crampled in that small space. And yes, there are a lot of local polyester you don't want include into your good times and hefty bill. read more

Mike S. is the best waiter ever. Very patient even though I'm very picky with food. I told him to bring me a surprise drink with a few criteria and gave me something I've never had and will never forget a French Martini. short story: i needed emergency buffalo wings at 10:32pm on a Saturday and this place had em hot and ready for take out. i've never been here and figured whatever it's take out but this place is way nicer than i expected it to be. the staff working was so patient over the phone while i figured out my order and warm and friendly when i got there. and the emergency wings: bangin'!! Had family in from town . Went tonight had i think what was a new waiter tried to have patience but was the worst service ever . waited 20 minutes for a drink and we did not get our meals for 1 1/2 hrs . when we asked waiter what was going on he seemed confused . Had to wait for the last meal to come out while we were all finished at that point . Manager aware came over and did not do noting with the 150 dollar bill. not even a drink for all the aggravation we received . The only thing he did was rush to get us the bill so we could leave . My husband and I are regular customers of this restaurant. The food is good and until today I would have said the customer service was great too. Unfortunately today my experience here has been destroyed by an extreamly rude and unprofessional employee I believe to be named Ryan. Dennis is wonderful and the rest of the staff are great too. But to be honest I don't come out to spend my money to be treated rude by someone who is on a power trip and thinks they're above people for no reason! We didn't deserve the treatment we received and honestly it has really turned us off from coming back. The only thing that might make us ever come back is Dennis bar tender/server who is the most respectful and highly professional person at Mike's Place Too. read more

I've been eating at Mike's Place Too for 20 years. It went downhill a few years ago after a new owner took it over, but has since been taken back by the original Big Mike and completely remodeled inside and out, and now is on par with any upscale restaurant anywhere.
