This is a review for the portrait studio. I've taken my children there twice and both times we had to wait over 30 minutes...with an appointment. Both times we were rushes through the session. Before moving here I would go to the jcp portrait studio in las Vegas and never had an issue. Horrible customer service. I will never give them my business again. read more

Okay first things first. Guys in most cases do not like the mall. I don't like going to the mall to shop, hang out very rarely will i go there just to even eat unless i really want something there. BUT I had a 50$ dollar gift card so hey why not? =) That being the case I decide I want to do something nice and buy new curtains for our master bedroom since there's nothing but some blinds on there now and thought it would be nice to surprise my wife when she got off work. Here's the plan, load up kids pick up my adviser (sister in law) and head to the mall with a couple of print outs of what I like and try to find something nice and go home and set it up before the wife gets home =) If you have ever went shopping with kids you know how much fun this can be right from the start. After looking around for about an hour I finally find a set that i like a lot and start gathering all the items, and the clerk informs me that she actually doesn't have the valance but can order it for me if i mind waiting 3-4 days... not quite a surprise so I choose another set, and I did an even better one that I liked even more. So I gather all the items(2 panels, 3 valances, 2 curtain rods, hardware)get to the counter pay for everything get my receipt and the total after the sale price is 170$ I save 80$ ya! Right as I am about to leave the cashier says to me "Oh by the way if you open the curtain rod you can't return it" I stop and asked for clarification on what she was saying and she told me "I am just telling you what my manager asked me to say, you can talk to him if you like" Yes please bring me a manager. I explained to him what I would like to do and my concern that if my wife did not like one thing or another I want to be able to do an exchange for what she likes. He told me NO. If i open the curtain rod which by itself was 35 reg. 50. he would not return it. I asked him why and he told me because its "unsellable" Still with a blank stare on my face I decided that was not acceptable no where is it posted that only curtain rods can't be returned anywhere and it was not on my receipt which states their actual return policy either. Again he told me NO. Fine I said. Then return everything. He told the cashier "return it" in all of those words and walked off. The cashier was embarrassed I was angry my kids were restless and now I had to wait almost 30 minutes for my return... Because the poor cashier didn't even know how to do a return for a gift card . Finally i get my money back and ask for a service card to fill out. they at first tried to tell me to just take the on line survey, but i wanted a card so the gal she called from another floor comes all the way up to try and ask me to take the survey on line using their computer right then at the store... but i want a card... guess what they don't even have them on site at all. Finally i said then just give me an address and they gave me a business card to the local location...... I did get the actual store manager's name not the grumpy older man that i read in Donna c's review but I am sure we had the same guy... and I will be calling her when she comes back into the store and I will be writing corporate a letter... In an economy like this 1. your basically rejected sales 2. showed no regard for your employee's commission 3. pissed off a yelp fan.....thanks for ruining my wonderful idea and making it basically impossible to do something nice for my wife and wasting 2 hours of my time... read more

I ordered several items on-line on Black Friday and still have not received them. I have called the customer service numbers for on-line ordering and they can't help. So I called the store and they couldn't help me either. REALLY? If they want customers they should attend to every need they have about the merchandise or status of an on-line order. I will not shop jcp on-line again! read more

Return desk service? Terrible. Under staffed. Poor lady behind the counter called for help twice. None came

Went to buy bed thought it would be easy. 1st order was cancelled without calling me due to dyslexic clerk putting in wrong address. 2nd order august 20, delivery call was to be 08/27, on 08/27- btw where is my bed? oh, no, it takes up to 3 weeks for a bed to made and delivered. I use to shop at Jcp's a lot because they had wonderful well made clothes. For at least a year now the place has completely went down hill. I went in there the other day and when I took my first glance it looked like a bunch of Easter eggs exploded in the store. The colors were so bright and gaudy that I actually thought of leaving right then. But I decided to look around anyway. I could not find one thing in my size that I would wear any where. I would stick out terribly. The clothes are not that badly made but they looked like they came from Walmart! And then the worst part when I did find a shirt for my husband I could not find a register anywhere. I asked a person that works there and she said they took half the registers out. So when I did find one there was a line a mile long so I went to a different one upstairs and I only found one register and it was way in the corner where the kids clothes are, and of course there was a line. Now apparently they have people out on the floor that have these machines that can check out your order as, long as you have a credit card. First you have to find one and if you have a lot of items I guess you lay them on the floor. Now they don't have the catalog area any longer. There were a whole store of flip flops in its place. So if you order something and have it shipped to the store to pick up you have to go to a register wait in a long line and then they have to leave the register and go find your order in the back some place. I know I went on a rant but I just had to warn people. I might have to try Sears again. read more

I came in on Monday, May 20, 2013 to get my graduation pictures done and I wasn't so pleased. I liked most of the poses but some were almost the same but in a different angle. On one of the poses I really liked shows my dress underneath my gown. I asked if there was anyway to edit the photo to not make it show, the lady who took my pictures started to laugh about it?????? WHAT THE FUCK RIGHT? She claimed that she has been taking pictures for 20 years and has a side business where she does weddings, etc. I can't even imagine who would want to hire her! Anyway, I would have thought that she could take that pose again but she left it as that. I was pissed! Luckily, I was able to get a 30% off coupon through their website. It still came out to $120 for 18 sheets- Family portrait. Not bad, BUT I'm sure I would have had a better experience elsewhere! That's why this portrait place is INSIDE JCPENNEY & at FAIRFIELD. I can't complain much, that should explain the service. read more

The hair salon is lovely! I don't remember the young lady's name who did my mother in laws hair. But she cut it perfectly and also was very thorough and took her time! YOU ROCK!!! read more

I am so disappointed with the staff at Jc Penny's in the picture department the ladies there were so rude and lied to my face about why a full body shot wasn't taken. The gentleman that took my pictures Patrick was wonderful and told me why he didn't take body shots and will do them again for me and he apologized :). They are very expensive to not have top of the line service and staff. read more

Do NOT buy blinds from these people... They can sell jeans and shoes, but are clueless when it comes to blinds. I could tell you it took six months, but don't know for sure as after 6 months my blinds still are not ready... First blind that came in broke.. Re-order took seven weeks. New blind came and was missing parts. Re-order had been 6 weeks again, but not done yet. Took our salesman three trips to the house just to get measurements right... We're talking on blind here folks. Go to someone that does blinds for a living.!!!! read more

I've shopped her a long time, but today was the best experience. All of the floor was staffed with sufficient employees, and they were all polite and very helpful. I made my first purchase for clothing, and got a $10 off mens shoes (excluding athletic shoes). I found a pair of casual Adidas. I went to buy them with the $10 off and the employee told me that the system would not take the certificate, and that it did not apply to the shoes. One of the managers happened to be working a register nearby and overhead the issue. The manager told the employee to do a "manual override" for the $10. Talk about an attentive, and customer orientated manager!! I didn't even complain or anything, she (manager) just took care of it. read more

I don't shop here very often, but definitely won't ever again after the customer service I received. I had a card for Sephora that gives you help with picking concealer. A young girl with glasses and curly hair helped me she applied a few different products to an age spot I have but didn't seem to be able to conceal it which was fine. I asked her for help picking a lip stain we tried a few and I just couldn't seem to find a flattering shade. I asked about help with contouring and she said she said she knew how to do it but wouldn't help me. I was very nice and had only taken maybe 5 minutes of time and there was no one waiting so I will tell you how disappointed I was. I am a woman in her mid forties who cares for others for a living (I work as a nurse) I have never gone to a makeup counter before and I can tell you I never will again. I thought that they were there to help you look better and try new things but I was sadly mistaken today. Sephora please teach your associates how to treat customers, I really wanted to buy some new makeup today. read more

This JCPenney has the worst customer service ever. I bought an expensive couch from them and it has been a horrible experience. The first day it arrived it was broken. Weeks later they sent us a new one. Too late for the graduation party I had bought it for. After that someone had to come out several times and replace various things. Finally the warranty did expire. But I still have a broken couch. Springs are falling out, three out of four footrests wont go up, one arm is falling off and the middle section is completely unusable. But Penney's wont take any responsibility and keep pawning me off on the manufacturer. They won't help me either . After several phone calls I've been forced to write this and do the Call Kurtis thing. Maybe I'll finally get someone who cares.I'm not even asking for a new couch just fix the one I have. read more

I came into the store the other day and was pretty shocked by the lack of registers in the Fairfield location! I'm not sure who thought of this concept to -only- having 6 registers on the main floor is absolutely ridiculous! The first set of 4 registers are by the front doors, so you are also competing against customer traffic coming in and out of the store, and the other set of 2 registers are in the Mens department, but the line was all the way into the far end of the store. There were several employees walking around but none was offering to help, so I stood in the line which seemed forever but thankfully the clerk was nice and friendly and offered the $10 coupon without me asking, which was nice. I have seen this store from the 70's to present day and I must say it has come a long way, but the register concept needs to be rethought, definitely not enough for us customer's that want to get in and out, not standing in long lines. read more
