So I came to the mall looking for Giants gear. Went to different stores. Went searching at JCPenney's to look at gear and also the prices. I have always known that this location is trash. But I have two small children now and it's hard to drive any further than Fairfield to do things. So I had no choice but to come to this location trying to find a suit for my husband. I came yesterday with my family the first time and ended up being followed by a Hispanic woman with short hair everywhere we went im assuming to make sure we didn't steal. Extremely upsetting. To top that off she did not even bother to ask if she could assist us watching us go around in circles trying to find different items. Just kept giving us the dirtiest looks. Mind you my family is Hispanic so it's laughable that we were being racially profiled by someone who is so close in ethnicity as we are. Never the less we found a nice suit for a good price and put in hold. They let us know that it would only be on hold for 24 hours. I made sure to come back today before those 24 hours were up and i am assuming that because I called and complained about the employee that made us so uncomfortable They PUT ALL THE THINGS WE PICKED OUT BACK! I was soooo pissed because it was gonna be so hard to find my husbands exact size AGAIN and have the patience to do it with my small children with us. Oh not to mention that the same lady from the day before there AGAIN! Still giving us dirty looks refusing to help us in any way. Ended up going to Macy's mens section and getting a better suit for a better price and priceless customer service. It was a night and day difference and I will never be coming back to Jcpennies in Fairfield again. I disliked this place before and in loath it now. This place looks and feels so much better after the remodel. Even the dressing rooms feel classy. This is the third time I've been to JCP in the last three months and I've scored every single time! As a girl on a budget who reads too much Vogue magazine I need fashion; but I also need to put gas in my car. The prices worked out perfectly for me. A cute blazer for 17$, a striped tee for 6$ and an awesome cardigan for 4$!!! I remember JCP at its worst; the design (of the store and the merchandise) felt irrelevant and obsolete. JC Penny Portraits is a joke! My family had an appointment to take pictures and the morning of, the girl calls and says the wait is 30 minutes to an hour and a half! WTF?! Why did I make an appointment if that's the case? The girl on the phone, Yesenia, didn't even do the basic, fake customer service apology. They ruined my family's morning and my holiday gifts (I was going to give the pictures as gifts). And wasted my time and money, getting ready for these pictures. I am so done with them. Hella people said, "Eww...why are you taking pics there?" And now I understand their distain. For a store that's failing, you'd think JC Penny's customer service and professionalism would be on point but I guess not. Portrait Studio - Pleasantly Surprised I took my son to first of many photo shoots at JCP, the price was right so I decided to give it a try. The online coupon had a free sitting, free 8x10 and $3.99 sheets. I took 3 changes of clothes and they were accomodating. The pictures turned out great. My only gripe is they take over a week to get your pictures back, so there is no instant gratification. read more

Ok...11 days till Xmas....shopping @JCP FAIRFIELD. Walking round the store....had some trouble finding a particular item...I must have sent mental vibes out because I was stopped by a lovely JCP employee and she asked me if I was finding everything ok...NO I said. I name item I was looking for...She walked me there. MIND BLOWN...I thanked her profusely. Then a bit later I needed help with shoes....young gal employee near me said she didnt work shoes but if I needed help she would get someone...she got someone and I got some on sale Nike's thanks to a very helpful young man.... The line to check out was rough...BUT AGAIN 11 days...while standing in line I watched JCP employees stalking shelves, refolding clothes, picking items up off the floor (hello fellow shoppers, what the hec!!! I received very helpful service from a manager named Jen. She looked up a new arrival, which I couldn't afford at full price, and let me know it would go on sale the following Sunday. So I bought it and got my price adjustment 4 days later. Also cashier Dottie was professional and kind. This review is for the photo center. The staff is inconsiderate and apathetic. We had an appointment around 12:30pm. Despite having confirmed just one day prior to our appointment, we received a call from them as we were pulling into the store parking lot stating their photographer had "called in sick" . This was literally 10 minutes before the time they asked us to arrive (early). They said they were going to find a backup but there were no guarantees. We couldn't have possibly been their first client since it was mid day so I don't know what took them so long to let us know. We decided to wait it out because it took such an effort to get the kids (toddlers and teenagers) and everyone else ready. We waited for about 45 minutes. The lady at the front desk did not seem to care at all. While waiting, we overheard her talking about the camera not working. Despite knowing the camera issues, she did not think it was prudent to let us know that not only did they not have a photographer but that their camera was also not working. What terrible service. If you have time to waste and play along with their silly photographer/camera malfunction games, then go ahead and book yourself an appointment. But, if you have kids and don't want to waste your time, then I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

This place has improved greatly in the past year. Last year I swore I would never come back because of a couple of appalling interactions with the staff. After many months I went in again, and I'm so glad I did! The staff was so nice and helpful! They asked if I was purchasing a gift (I was splitting up a set into several smaller gifts for my sisters). They went the extra mile and separated the gifts into separate boxes marked with my sister's names, tied pretty ribbons on them, threw in extra samples into each box, and all for no extra cost! I told them how much I appreciated their work and they told me that there had been a big change in staff in the last year because of complaints. I knocked off 1 star because they don't always keep everything I want in stock, but overall it's a great place to go for makeup and skin care. read more

Worst photo experience ever. Made a reservation with my family (including a 3 year old). They took 13 pictures in entirety. I even mentioned my surprise as we never get a good shot of my daughter on the first time. Well guess what? All 13 were the worst photos of my daughter I had ever seen. The associate showing us the pictures didn't know what to say. I asked why they didn't retake and she said because were busy and offered to have us come back on a weekend when they could spend more than 3 minutes taking pictures. JCPenney, Your store is starting to look congested and overstocked! Prices are high for some of the men's professional wear. For the price, you charge I can go to Men's Warehouse with measuring and service. Shoes are everywhere just thrown into walkways. Stacks of shoes and clothes everywhere. There are a few ladies in the men's clothing who are always there and they are amazing, so my three stars are to them and a few gentleman. You have some decent sales, I only wish you had more or changed it for consumers to come back and buy things! read more

Portrait Studio- Went to have a photoshoot with my daughter and her best friend. They are 4&5 yrs old. My appointment was for 12:30 and didn't get my photos taken until 1:30ish. Didn't leave out of the studio until 2:30. And the girl who was taking the photos was good, just worked so slow even after letting her know that I had to be somewhere. Back then, JCP had nicer clothes, and they still do. But, many of their clothes are the types that I don't like to wear. I haven't shopped here in a while. I go to JC Penny's every time they have a huge sale. I just bought a Zoo York Jacket for $17.00 on sale from $60.00!!!!! However they have bad customer service. I was checking out yesterday and three of my items did not have tags on them. The cashier said to me that I would need to go find these items on the racks with tags on them if I wan't to buy them. I said "Don't you have people here that do that for me?" She said back to me "You can either look for the tags or not buy the items." I was speechless (for a moment) my husband had to calm me down. Ok, so I am a frequent shopper at JcPenney's in Fairfield, California. I am usually there 4 times per week. I bought 2 snowman decorations on Friday (Oct. 2, 2015) in the afternoon as they were having a 50% sale! The snowman was $19.99 and reduced to $9.95! Today the same sale is going on (Sunday Oct.4, 2015). I went to purchase 2 more snowman and the $19.99 price had a sticker on it - they raised the Price to $40.00! The snowman isn't even worth the original price of $19.99!! It's absolutely Absurd that they would raise the price from what I paid on Friday -$19.99 reduced to $9.95 to Sunday's price of $40.00 (reduced to $20!). What do they take us for - idiots! It's 4x's the price! I spoke with the Manager of the store! Obviously she doesn't understand about the words "Customer Service" or she would of offered them to me at the rate I paid for on Friday! I have been twice in the last six months. I do not like going into any mall but have this to say----The store is VERY well staffed. I was asked at least twice by employees if they could help me. The sales and displays are great. I can see they are turning their image around by also featuring plus size clothing in a wide variety. Being 8 months pregnant it is nice to have help finding what you need when you can hardly walk and the current sales are great for early Christmas shopping. Good Job. read more

I ordered 12 pairs of men's underwear for my husband online. I printed a copy of the order. I ordered that many to qualify for free shipping to my home. Two hours later he checked it and told me I ordered the wrong size. I called customer service and was told that after 10 minutes (it used to be 3 minutes) I could not change or cancel. They do not know which warehouse received the order. My only option is to wait for them to be delivered to my home and then drive to the store and return them. This completely negates the reason I ordered them online. I really understand why Amazon is taking over everything. The actual store has so few employees or registers that you have to go look for employees. read more

BULLSHIT! My family hasn't taken a family photo since i was around nine. So i decided this year we would take one since 1/3 of us now have children, I have a semi big family total of siblings is SEVEN including myself so with significant others and children we round out to FOURTEEN (and growing). I made the appointment online with JC penny's and made sure to say we had a BIG group! well they encourage you to call when you are going to have so many people in one picture, so i made the phone call and did not expect much but ways to accommodate us. It was the Thursday before our scheduled appointment that following Sunday when i made the phone call, When i received the news that they could not accommodate so many people in one photo!! (WTF RIGHT!!??) i mean i know fourteen is a lot of people and we'd have to be smashed together but for them to say they couldn't do anything but take individual family pictures and make a COLLAGE!!! is ridiculous. WHY THE F WOULD WE WANT A FAMILY COLLAGE!!!!!! We ended up going to the JC Penny's at the Sunvalley mall which has the SAME AMOUNT OF SPACE!!! they didnt do a great job but at least they got all of us in one picture. read more

My sisters and I scheduled a photo session to recreate a picture we had taken 30 years ago for our father for Christmas. Since we have very different work schedules and live in different locations this was extremely hard to coordinate. We arrived for our appointment and from our first interaction with the staff we became extremely nervous. It was very chaotic and disorganized. It seemed that each staff member had zero idea what the other was supposed to be doing. Nothing flowed. We SPECIFICALLY told the girl who checked us in that we were there to recreate a photo from 30 years ago. We even brought the original photo. When our name was called we were greeted by a very unprofessional woman. We told her we were there to recreate a photo which she responded with "nobody told me that". She criticized the photo, asked my younger sister what color box job her hair color was, kept telling me I was hot and grazing my breast. We were extremely uncomfortable. She had her assistant who she belittled the whole time take 1 shot of the recreation and then went on to do whatever she wanted. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. Not only was I specifically violated and sexually harassed but we left without the recreation of a picture that we had set out to do. When she showed us the pictures she said dont you love them.. We all in unison said NO. She got extremely angry and stomped off and refused to speak to us again. Im sorry that I didn't get her name but she said she has been with JcPenney portraits in Fairfield for 23 years. We ended up purchasing a less that satisfactory photo because this was a gift and we didnt have time to schedule another appointment. We were belittled, harassed and violated. I was very disappointed with th service at the portrait studio. The first problem I had was that prices weren't posted anywhere online so you have no idea how much anything will cost until you get there. Second problem is that when I tried to call about prices it went straight to voicemail everytime so I would leave a message and no one got back to me. I did this for a week straight. So finally I just went in and they were very nice but the prices SUCKED. It was so expensive and I feel like I paid way too much for what I got. And to top it all off, I can't return what I bought which they failed to mention before I paid. Bad business, I will NEVER go back. read more

This review is for the Portrait Studio. I know most people leave nasty reviews this time of year so I wanted to leave one that was the opposite because the staff here deserves a huge compliment for what they dealt with this weekend. I had a session this weekend and it was incredibly busy. BUT I want to give major props to the staff there for the amazing job that they did under lots of pressure. I waited til the last minute to get my family pictures taken this year. And based on how many people were in the studio I wasn't the only one. One of the photographers called to let me know that they could be running behind 30 mins to an hour and half and that I had the option of rescheduling to a less busy day if I chose to. I really appreciated the heads up so I could bring stuff to keep my kids occupied while we waited. I needed to get these done so I opted to keep my appointment. And yes we did have a wait of around 40 minutes when we got there. Those poor girls were probably exhausted but they helped everyone as quickly as they could. They all kept smiles on their faces, greeted everyone cheerfully, joked with the kids and had way more energy while taking my kids pictures than I thought they could possibly have. As soon as we were called into the camera room the photographer immediately apologized for the wait and thanked us for being so patient. They kept me from feeling rushed although I'm sure they wanted to get us in and out as quickly as possible. I did overhear some families complain about the wait time and all I can say is SHAME ON YOU. It's the holiday season, it's obviously busier than normal, and you should show some compassion to anyone stuck working in retail this time of year. And even tho they didn't have to, the girl showing me my portraits compensated me for my wait time. So yes it was busy, yes it was crowded and yes there was a much longer than normal wait time. BUT I think the staff in the photo studio did an amazing job with what they were presented and I will DEFINITELY be going back. Thank you for the amazing holiday portraits you guys took. I custom ordered blinds from JCPenny's. It took a month for them to come in and Penny's was supposed to install them. I have waited a month for the installer to call and set up an appointment with me to install the blinds. Nobody has called and the blinds are on my bedroom floor. Nobody at Penny's can help me and I am stuck with blinds that need to be installed. I can't do it, I am 75 years old. read more

So I never ever rant about customer service but today history changes. I heard from my sister that Sephora does an IQ test for skin to see what type of make up works best and what not. Since I'm going to have a career in the beauty industry I was thinking about stepping my makeup game up and dropping some good money on good products. I'm so excited for this test to tell me what I should use! But the customer service I had received ruined my whole experience. The girl used this gadget on my face then walks away and then asked if I wanted to sample anything. No smile. No personality. Literally nothing from this girl. I asked what the test said and she looked at me like as if was asking if I could have all of her money. Then she says "oh it's over here and shows me a IPad" that shows a list of makeup. This girl literally did not explain one thing to me or was any kind of helpful what's so ever. I'm sure some women have walked in to a beauty store and set one foot into that building and has felt discouraged from the other girls around. Ladies we are walking into your store for your help!!! Don't act stuck up! Be humble about the beautiful makeup you do and use your knowledge and creative artwork for women in need. Customer service is a huge deal. I don't care what kind of a day you're having, put a smile on your face, cause your vibes can affect others. I'm very disappointed in the customer service and upset I didn't get to buy the makeup I was going to get today. Instead I walked out with a little sample of foundation. JCP PORTRAITS- I have been going to this studio for quite some time now, and have never had an issue and enjoyed giving them my business since they have did such a great job. I went there for my maternity pictures and my sons 1,3,6,9 and 18 month photos. Also, since I am a frequent customer of theirs- I became a member. I went there today with my sons siblings - and the photographer by the name of Kat Jones, whom I have never seen before, made it a horrible experience and had the worst customer service. She was rude when I was trying to get my 1 in a half year old to smile by making noises and trying to get his attention and kept telling me to be quite. I pulled out my phone and took a short video- since I do not see all the kids together that often- and she put her fingers in front of my phone and told me in a very rude demeanor to put my phone away and threatened to stop shooting. A simple "ma'am you can't record while I'm shooting the pictures" would have sufficed. By this point I'm over trying to take these pictures with a lady that doesn't know how to handle it and is obviously overwhelmed and take my son and leave while she was willing to take more pictures of my step children with their mothers. I felt disrespected and embarrassed that she handled it in the way that she did that I will not be going back to Fairfield JCP Portraits, and if you choose to, I recommend to not have Kay Jones as your photographer, especially if you have a toddler. Salon, I am a "Pennies" (30 years?) customer which makes this feel like an act of betrayal to leave a 2 star rating but money does not grow on trees. A few weeks ago I was in the salon and the service on my hair was good I will say but the atmosphere was just not great. The girl at the counter was typing on her phone and putting on makeup at the same time I kid you not. After interrupting her??the wait wasn't long my stylist got to work. Another gal was having her hair done and a yelling match between what I thought was 2 stylist broke out, screaming quite uncomfortable although my husband thought it was amusing as he heard it from the bench near the escalators. I thought I would mention this at my next appointment because it was quite embarrassing and not wanting to have to find another salon I asked for the manager who was always this very nice (I don't know her name but very professional) black woman. The girl at the counter who was on her phone AGAIN mind you and informed me that she moved to another store and retrieved the new manager,,,the woman that was yelling. This may seem petty but it was very embarrassing. I tried to talk to a store manager before having my son write this note but they never called back another fallen star. I so feel that I am missing out as I have been with my stylist for 5-6 years now and she has really grown into an expert, refurbishing the store might bring in the new crowd but the old crowd has more money :) read more
