If I could give this place zero stars, I would. We came for Christmas photos my son's first Christmas and we traveled from Houston to take pictures with our family. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. What made the situation worse was that after our visit a manager contacted me on 1/11/2026to follow up on the poor experience. She acknowledged that our family experience was horrible and told me she wanted to make it right by arranging a complimentary photoshoot at a JCPenney location in my area. She stated she would be reaching out to coordinate it -- and then never followed up. No call. No email. No resolution. It's incredibly frustrating to be told something will be corrected, only to be completely ignored afterward. That level of follow-through reflects very poorly on customer service. I've always found our shopping trips at this location to be pleasant. On the rare occasion that I have to return something and am able to make it to this location, the process is straightforward and hassle free. Tuesday, November 12th, evening: my young children and I browsed the store as I was looking for a functional and cute mom purse. The store was bright and neat. I found a great selection of items. At the customer service checkout counter, we met Ginny, a customer service manager. Ginny was professional, kind to my kids and myself, and helpful. She gracefully showed myself and the cashier trainee (who was also professional and nice) how to locate in-store coupons on the JCPenney app. The price for my purse and turtleneck ended up being very reasonable for great quality. Tara in the fine jewelry department is an absolute gem. She's one of the best managers I've ever had the pleasure of dealing. I had a jewelry issue and she went above and beyond to make sure it was resolved. I buy all my jewelry from her and she has excellent customer service and treats her employees with the upmost respect and patience they seem to all love her as well. The photographer was punctual for the session time. The photos came out OK when reviewing. I had a groupon deal but they were very adamant about pushing their bundles. I was looking at only purchasing all the digitals and was told it'd be like $170 and a bundle would be a better deal. However, looking on the site, there was a deal got all digital images for $120. I was told the photos would be available on Shutterfly within 24-48 hours. I reached out the JCPenney after 72 hours because I had not received anything. The portrait studio referred me to Shutterfly/ Lifetouch's customer service. Shutterfly/ Lifetouch couldn't find the order. I contacted JCPenney again and they deferred me back to Shutterfly/ Lifetouch. Don't bother. Look for another location or local photographer. read more

What could improve you ask! Associate should know the coupon that you're scanning and know what it's for when you ask! They rang me up and my 15.00 did not apply but gave me 10% off. I asked before I purchased will the coupon work, the girl in houseware said yes! So now out the 15.00 because once you use a coupon they can not void then redo again! Very disappointed, and the Assistance manager was there! This store has gone down and they need more training with associates so they understand coupons! I placed a second order and was told the coupon had already been used and the most important item I ordered was now out of stock because of the delay. We visited the JC Penney portrait studio for my toddler's holiday photos. My daughter had a hard time taking pictures, but the photographer was so patient with us and surprisingly got a few good shots. Then when I went to us my Groupon, the code wasn't working but the photographer was so nice and got my a 50% store coupon since it wasnt working. We are so happy with our portraits and have gotten many compliments on them. We will return next time we need pictures! read more

I loved my family pictures. I've seen viral videos of families taking funny pictures at JCPenney and what stared as a joke became such an amazing experience. Our photographer was the nicest sweetest woman. Just super chill and helped us because we've never taken professional family photos. (Wish I knew her name, but she's got super cool facial piercings)They came out so adorable and I'll definitely be back for the holidays. If you talk to them they can help with the packages you get. This review is for the Photo Center: my family and I came for last minute holiday photos. As a photographer, it's somewhat difficult to capture myself in a photo. The "photographers" we had did not seem like professional photographers. Although polite, their lighting continuously malfunctioned and they failed to capture the attention of the kids and babies to look at the camera, even after watching how to do it. Ridiculous, right? I now wonder if all JCPenney's hire point and shoot camera people? If these are indeed professionals, they're not great. If they aren't, they should let people know beforehand. This review is for the Portrait studio. Leaving two stars since the male manager made things right. My young children and I were gifted a Groupon for a Christmas photo shoot. We go in and are the last appointment of the day... we still have to wait nearly an hour but didn't mind. The photographer with the cat ears was wonderful at interacting to get my little ones to pose. The problem is when we went to design the FREE Christmas cards that the Groupon included. The girl Carmen denied that we could get them unless we purchased the $150 package. Upon reading reviews it was brought to my attention that she's worked there for well over a year and has obviously had experience with Groupons before, she was trying to scam us ultimately. So we left with nothing. I had to then go back a couple days later (20 minutes out) to speak with the manager where he so graciously helped us get our holiday cards ordered, though now they'd be arriving late after New Years! And how convenient was it that she had "lost" our paper with the Groupon code. Then on top of that, there was a sweet family behind me that had to wait while we got the situation figured out. She tried to rudely accuse them of being longer than 5 minutes late when in reality, had she done HER JOB, they wouldn't have had to wait at all. The manager gave us extra pictures/designs on the cards and even waived the shipping fee. Thank goodness for those who do their job correctly! It just left a really bad taste in my mouth. She should not be working in a family environment clearly. read more

SALON REVIEW - I had the worse experience getting a root touch up at jcpenny. I don't know WHERE in the hell they hire they're stylist but I'm so so beyond disappointed. This location specifically did me dirty. I asked for a root touch up just bleach and a toner. She used regular color instead of bleach (to try to save my hair which I respected to not damage hair but again, not what I went in for or asked for). She left the toner on way to long. It was unfortunate she had to ask the other ladies in the salon what to do and was constantly going back to their room to mix up more color and try different things. I was there for almost 4hours which is the longest I've ever done even for all over color. When she messed up she said she'd make it darker to blend more which I didn't want. After making my hair darker it was still very patchy with the toner. I left feeling so miserable knowing I had to pay extra money to go last minute to another salon. Not going to post the lady's name just for privacy reasons but I'd you'd like to know reach out or comment. Very upset. read more

My wife takes my mom shopping cause she is handicapped. 84 yrs old she is slow and usually pushes a cart to help her out or uses electric scooter provided by store. My wife asked employees for a cart or scooter . They told her they have nothing. Not even a bench for mom to rest .no hand sanitizing stations through out the store .my mom has been shopping at jcp for as long as I can remember. I guess next time we will bring her walker. So if your handicapped take your own walker. Never ran into this problem anywhere else mom shops. Worst Penney's ever. Not once but twice I ordered bathing suits from the online store. One I attempted to have delivered to my home. The second was sent to the store for pickup. The first order to my home was "lost". The second order delivered to the store ( to avoid the "lost" situation) was supposedly there, but it wasn' t there. I have spent so much time on the phone with jcp.com, I know the "on hold" Muzak by heart. The managers in the store do not answer the phones at all and the curbside pickup is a joke. Basically your call at curbside pickup is routed God knows where. I waited on hold for over 15 mins for someone to pick up. In a nutshell, don't shop here. Try Macy*s, Kohls, etc. It has to be a better experience than this. It certainly explains why the JCPenney brand is failing. read more

I used to work in the children's department and I have the worst experience I mentioned to the management several times that I wanted to be moved to a different department because I was treated unfairly and they didn't take action to helping an employee out... to summarize my experience working here, DONT save your time seems like everyone is miserable working here, management sucks specifically Regina and Alina very unprofessional, they use you up till they can't anymore basically just an overall bad place to work at. I pretty much don't go to JCPenney for anything. I always feel like it's outdated. I came here just to kill time and I was surprised to see that they actually had some good stuff especially in their home goods section upstairs. They sell Kitchen Aid mixers, kitchenware, and they also had a good assortment of bedding. Downstairs there's a mini Sephora store inside the JCPenney, I didn't realize they had one of those at this location. Good to know since the Ulta at this mall sucks. I'll probably be coming back here for their Sephora goods.... read more

Horribly and Highly Disappointed and Dissatisfied Customer. I custom ordered blinds and shutters from JC Penny's almost 7 weeks ago, June 14 2018. I was told I would receive them in 4-5 weeks and have not heard from the store nor received them. From the beginning the customer service was terrible. Communication was lacking and I felt as though I was receiving the run around to start. Laila was helping me with my order and didn't seem to know the technicalities and specifics of custom ordering blinds as well as having a language barrier. She needed assisting from another coworker and when complaining to her supervisor Tara I was told Laila had to finish helping me with the order because she started it. Nonetheless I preceded with the order, new blinds and shutters for my entire household. 7 weeks later I have nothing to show for it other than a receipt showing I spent the money I no longer have. Today I have spent my entire day off on the phone trying to get to the bottom of where my money and blinds have gone. When finally speaking with Tara, the supervisor of the department, she took zero responsibility for my concerns. It took her hours to get back to me and tell me that it was a manufacturing issue and the blinds I ordered where discontinued and the shutters should be on their way. She stated the only thing I could do was cancel my order and place a new order for blind they may or may not have in stock. Which means I would have to wait another " 4-5 weeks". Who knows If they would actually come by then. I have gone all summer without window coverings in my home. To some up this mess know one ever called me to tell me that my purchase was not coming, that my blinds where discontinued. I had to do the leg work, make the phone calls and track down what has happened. I've called corporate and am waiting to make an official complaint. I've worked in customer service all my life. I've never been treated so horribly. I do not recommend going through the Fairfield Jc Penny's for your window treatments. They will take your money and only give your horrible customer service in return. I know there is a better solution to all of this. I'm waiting for someone at JC Penny's to take responsibility and do what's right. read more

In the home department, the registers were utter chaos. A lot of the cashiers were 'older' and just plane rude. If you ask to check something in the system...you'd likely get a response like: "Well that's all we have so, yea, no use checking, because I know"..... like ok..... Why hire lazy folks to deal with customer service when they don't even have a sense of willingness to assist? A lot of staff need attitude adjustments. Save time, go to the Concord Mall or just shop online. JCP should hire staff that actually look like they enjoy their employment there. read more

I have no words that describe my experience. Zach did an awesome job on my hair. Going to get it done was scary because of so many bad experiences. Not only did he fix the color but he understood that cutting to much off would make me cry. I have been growing my hair out for seven years trying to do it on my own. I've always been a jcpenny shopper for years and have had my credit card with them for 4 years and have always had great customer service. Unfortunately there was a problem when i returned a washer and dryer with my credit card account they finally credited back to my account after 3 weeks but did not adjust the minimum payment. I called to talk to a representative about it and ended up speaking with a manager who was very rude I explained to him and he said you made your payment a day late last month it's your responsibility to make the minimum payment on time. The phone call was not about the late payment. I explained to him I have two kids and one has a few health problems and I forget to pay on time and he said it does not matter.
