Otherwise, you won't see me here much because per the usual the average consumer "suppose" to get great service all day everyday no matter the circumstance. Therefore, when I don't, I like to put people or companies on blast. Now, I'm a makeup junkie. I love high end makeup. I know my stuff pretty well. This certain employee Associate #0973 was nothing but a miserably grouchy chick!!! From the moment I approached her asking for a product to ringing me up for my pomade. I've been to many Sephora's and every chick working there when I pay they mention my reward points and if I would like to redeem any. This store is awful!! Cluttered clothes and shoes everywhere! The lingerie Dept is chaotic with merchandise and displays look bad!! Everything looks unorganized!! I asked the manager if they're looking for p/t work? I could be able to come in on weekends to hang and organize apparel. I went to the interview which was not a one on one. It was a group of applicants and either the hr lady Annette or Cynthia who gave the interview process was completely unprofessional when she told us all if you don't get a call back by Monday, to not bother calling them. Today I go shopping and one poor sales guy attending to the floor and register was too overwhelming to see. I told him this is not fair to him! He should complain! I'm sure Burlington and Ross will be doing much better once they're opened. Hey HR! Hire more staff!! read more

Tons of discount panties that they actually try to organize.. but who really organizes their own panties at home let alone 5 sizes and hundreds of panties. Omg I bought furniture from jcpenney 8 months ago first of all didn't hear from them for 3 months wondering where our couches were?? Understanding COVID so we called after a 30 min wait time they said someone would contact us in 2 weeks for delivery yeah right 1 month later we contacted them again we got our living room furniture 1 day before we had to move out of our old house into our new home!!! So going on 6 months we now have our furniture open the boxes one couch has scratches on it like a blade mark almost went through it and than it's missing a cord to recline our couch!! Yes we got reclining couches and no cord so no purpose!! We are still battling with jcp to send us a new couch or a cord so our couch can work!!! Back and forth back and forth with them because they say they don't sell our couches any longer on jcp.com well if they didn't take so long to deliver our couches or get back to us maybe we wouldn't have this problem!! I looked on Ashley's furniture because they are the 3rd party and they still sell our couches so I took a picture of them for jcp and sent them to them and still nothing !! So don't go through jcp for anything!! It's been almost 9 months and still trying to get my order corrected but only had my furniture 2 months !!! Jcp horrible!!!!!!! Horrible!!!!!! I had no idea there was a JCP here, I came for IKEA. Anyway went in this afternoon specifically for last minute jewelry gifts for my moms bday. 2 girls working the jewelry counter each with a customer. One checking prices for a man that kept saying everything was too costly and the other chatting it up with an old lady that wanted to try on everything and buy nothing. 25 minutes later still no one available. Someone finally waddles by to help out, only to help a lady that got there after me. Thanks for a great experience. Took my business next door to an actual jewelry store. read more

Wow....i have been standing in line to pick up something I ordered for 37 minutes. And it's only 2 people in front of me. It's so freaking frustrating. They sent email said my item was ready for pick up (dress). There is only one clerk. I can't deal with this. When I go to store in del amo or valley, it's an mover abundance of reps available. And to top it off, the manager saw she had line and simply said u look swamped and walked away. Love the products Jcpenny has now ( upgrade) but hate the service. read more

I don't usually shop at JC Pennys, but today I walked into this location trying to do some back to school shopping. I walked in through the mall entrance looking for the children's department which happens to be upstairs, and I could not find the elevator. This store does not have clear indications as to where their elevator was located. I tried to find an associate to point me in the right direction, but the staff does not acknowledge their customers. One male associate saw me approaching him and walked the other way. After walking laps around the store I finally found the elevator(which happens to be on the further end of the store), and come to find it was out of service. Management did not even bother to put up a sign to notify customers and apologize for the inconvenience. Seeing as I could not use the escalator and could not get to the second floor I ultimately found myself having to leave the store. Poor customer service. Dirty store. Low Volume and Messy sales floor. Needles to say I will not be coming back to this location. One star because Yelp is yet to allow no star ratings. read more

This review is solely for the jewelry department and the lovely salesperson Sakina who helped us. I came here recently with my daughters and mother-in-law to look for earrings. My step-daughter has sensitive ears and tends to pull on her earrings subconsciously. She needed a new pair that fit properly and that had a screw on back so she couldn't pull them off. Sakina was amazing. She was so helpful, suggesting different earring that would work for us, etc. She dealt with my mother-in-laws million requests to see every pair of earrings and find out how much they cost, all without getting annoyed like most people would. Never met anyone that kind and patient at a JC Penney or any jewelry store for that matter. I would definitely come back here for my jewelry needs. read more

I was only at this JCPenny because I had a gift card to use. Other than that, the visit here was less than stellar. I was looking for a specific product that I saw online, but I did not see in the store. I attempted to look for a sales associate, but none could be found. After browsing around I found something similar to what I wanted, but my size was not on the rack, so again I attempted to look for another sales associate, and again none could be found. In addition, there was a long line for checkout, and only three employees working. I ultimately found something that I wanted and used the fitting room to try it on. The fitting room itself was horrendous. Tons of clothes from other people who don't return them or give them back to associates to re-rack were just in the room scattered. Eventually when I made my way to checkout, the line barely had moved. The cashiers seemed distant and not liking what they were doing. One cashier was more worried about getting off of his shift and having a side conversation with another cashier, slowing the checkout process even more! Overall not a great experience and might not be coming back to this JCPenny location anytime soon. read more

I rarely come to this JCP but decided to since I needed to do some quick shopping. I have to say that I appreciated that there wasn't a lot of ppl at the store (I went late Sunday afternoon.) The women's fitting room were roomy but could use more mirrors. I also went to the shoe department and it was a bit disorganized but thought maybe it's because it was near closing time ?? Although the employees could use more cheer, they did provide and meet my customer service needs. Maybe since it was near the end of the day they were tired ?? Went to the cosmetic section,which had bad customer service. All I had asked the employee was if there was anymore "Eau So Fresh" from Marc Jacobs and she says, " hold on let me check " , and never came back to let me know if there was any more left and then walk past me as if I haven't asked for her help. This is a local JCP. For the most, the prices are great. The clearance racks are impressive and the dressing rooms are roomy, hot but roomy. Three stars were given because the shoe department is reminiscent of a Payless in my opinion. I believe the only shoes they sell with real leather now are work boots and orthotic shoes, if that. They do not carry leather goods and the jewelry is tacky to say the least. I would say the last 35 shirts I purchased from JCP were nice in appearance but after one wear, they showed signs of aging with lent balls on the knits and major shrinkage after a wash on the gentle cycle. read more

Seriously. I rarely shop here. I was doing my friend a favor and decided to shop around for me a little. I finally get into line and there's one customer in front of me and one at the register. The customer is walking the cashier through her return. After about 5 minutes of waiting and looking like they're going nowhere I went to another line. Im 4th in that line with one cashier at the cash wrap. This associate has her customer on the phone. After a little while she takes a customer at another register. Then another associate walks by and asks "you got it?" Because she has a looooong line now. The associate said no and the lady decided to hop on and help her out. After waiting about 20-25 minutes to check out I'm finally out of there. But. I get home and realize she didn't take the security sensors off. read more

This is the location by my office...so end up a bit...but they really don't seem to stock very well....and it's hard to get help etc.

I called here to put some items on hold. They had me on hold for 15 minutes so I hung up and called back. When I finally got to someone I told her how long I was on hold and she said it was because there are only 3 people in that department. I said ok well, can you help me and she said NO because they were busy and I could hold, I told her I wasn't going to hold for another 15 minutes and she said I could call back in 10 minutes and I asked her what are the chances that I will be helped and she said she didn't know because they were helping customers. I let her know if I could leave the item numbers and they could call me back, she said ok (but she had an attitude at this point) I left the item numbers, she asked me what size and I kept telling her it was jewelry. She kept asking me for more numbers and I kept trying to explain they were WEB ID numbers that I got off the website. IDK how else I could have explained this. I went in to pick an online order. About half of the time there I heard an announcement in Spanish. I thought that was great. What I questioned was why they didn't give the same announcement in Tagalog, or Samoan. It's in Carson and there is a high number of Filipinos and Samoans. Arrived at jcpenny carson mall at 11:20 am june 3 2015 to purchase my fiance a nice watch for her birthday gift. The lady sales rep was helping out a customer so I waited. After she was done with the customer she would skip me and continued to help out other customers knowing I was there next. After she was done helping out the entire store over 1 hour had passed and I was still waiting . The sales rep started to look at her nails and stand around with no intention to help me. This location lost my online order that was shipped to the store. The associate told me she couldn't help me, that her supervisor wasn't there, and to come back 2 days later. I am highly disappointed in this kind of customer service especially since I worked for JCP for 3 years and know this is not how associates are trained to treat customers.
