Threads & Needles is a cross between Opening Ceremony and Barneys NY. Located in Old Town Torrance (next to Scrampers Scrapbooks), Threads & Needles has a Pop Up Shop/best kept secret vibe. The shop is small and the selection not huge but they do have some very cool brands and a great sale rack.

This is a cute boutique located in downtown Torrance. It carries a wide selection of exclusive brands and the associates here are very friendly. Threads & Needles carries both clothing and accessories for women and men. The store reminds me of Fred Segal! -- they carry candles and perfume which would be great presents for birthdays and holidays! Oh and they also have shoes! Located in Old Town Torrance, this hidden gem has unique styles and also rare high end brands that I've never even seen at Barneys. The owner is knowledgable, and down to earth. The staff was definitely not pushy when it came to selling me on any of their items. I bought a pair of Natives (similar to Crocs but more sporty. I'm loving them!), perfume for a friend and some uggs for my sister. Besides clothing, shoes and fragrances, they carried candles, sunglasses and bags too. They have sales sometimes so I try to stop by when I can to see what's new. read more

This is not the sort of shop you'd expect to find in Torrance, but maybe you're Japanese and have been longing for a place like this to open up in the South Bay. I didn't look at the women's side of the shop much, but I noticed some DVF wrap dresses and James Perse tops. As for the men's side, TAN provides one stop shopping for jeans: Levi's LVC 1947 Deadstock for casual wear and A.P.C. for semi-formal. They also carry shirts and sport coats from Engineered Garments and Shipley & Halmos, t-shirts from Saturdays, boots from Wolverine, Red Wing, etc. I think it would be nice if they dropped CDG and added Gitman Vintage, Shoes Like Pottery, Tuki, Tatamize, and Quoddy, but that's just nitpicking at this point. read more

A great little find in downtown Torrence. Walked around and happened to see this shop and so happy I stopped in! They carry quite a lot of TOPSHOP for Men and Women and a fantastic selection of shoes for guys and gals. The selection isn't huge, but what was there was all tres tres chic. A very well curated shop! Large selection of perfumes and cologne of more indie brands, I believe they had several TOCCA perfumes which I adore. I got a pair of TOMS shoes on sale (hooray). Looking forward to seeing what new goods they get in soon next time I'm in Torrence! read more

A hidden gem in the South Bay! Well curated shop for men and women with great designer brands. You can find both easy-to-wear everyday threads here, as well as the harder-to-find designers that are known for their craftsmanship, quality and history. I visited a number of times and I'm always so excited to walk out of the store with great pieces for my closet! I've found pieces that I wear everyday from Toms, Uggs, Tory Burch shoes, to James Perse tees and Clare Vivier clutches. I love that I can just as easily find more unique pieces like CDG Play Converse, CDG wallets, Rag and Bone jeans and DVF dresses. Also a great place to shop for gifts as well! The owner and staff are really friendly and have some incredible knowledge on the designers, brands and items. I love visiting the shop regularly to see what's new! Super cute little boutique store with a very friendly and helpful owner. I work around the corner and often walk by on my way to lunch. I saw a pair of Tom's online and having never bought them before was hesitant to pull the trigger. I was able to try them on at this cute little store, and felt no pressure to buy anything. It's a really friendly shop with high end cute stuff that you would love to gift or get. I ended up walking out with my first pair of tom's and love them. I can see myself stopping by more often on my way to lunch, but the only downside is that it makes for an expensive lunch ;) read more

Checked out this excellently appointed boutique this afternoon. Richard stocks his shop with some very refined threads. Love the Shwoods, unwashed Levi's and great selection of boots. So happy a place like this exists in Torrance, a beautiful gem in the middle of Old Town Torrance that you'd be more apt to find in West Hollywood . I'll be back here soon! read more

Have you heard of any modern store not taking credit card over the phone to pay for the goods I'm buying? Well this is the store! This is after i told them I'll send them my ID and provide credit card number. They are not about convenience at all! I called this store from LA to place an order over the phone. I told the sales person I can't drive all the way from LA to Torrence for a pair of shoes with an 8 month old and will send an uber to pick them up after i pay for them and they refuse to do it. Never heard such a thing in my life. Get with it, it's 21st Century! read more

This place is literally a hidden jewel-I would have never noticed it until I decided to take a stroll around Old Torrance! It's an amazing boutique that carries brands such as Illesteva, See By Chloe, Topshop, and Repetto! That being said, it's definitely a high-end boutique although certain Topshop pieces are pretty affordable if you're looking for a small splurge. They also carry Tocca fragrances and candles among other brands. The store itself is also really cute-you completely forget that you're in a hidden nook in Old Torrance! The staff is beyond friendly and they don't pressure you into buying anything or make you feel out of place. They were just lovely and beyond friendly! Definitely can't wait to go back when they have more stock. read more

This amazing shop is in the heart of Old Towne Torrance and is full of on-trend merchandise. They have rare U.S. Finds (Cath Kidston-What?!) as well as cherished brands like Tory Burch, Marc by Marc Jacobs and DVF. There's a great selection of Topshop, Kate Spade, James Perse, Clare Vivier & Toms. I love how they cater to a range of customers & have the variety of merchandise for them all. I can walk into the store and find the labels i've always loved, brands I didn't know I needed and I'm always greeted with a smile. No need to drive all the way to LA or OC to find those coveted pieces, they are all here in the South Bay. read more

Great little shop in downtown Torrance. It's the only place in the South Bay that I've shopped for clothes in the 2 years. You find many of the same brands you would find at shops on Abbot Kinney or La Brea, but close to home and without the hassle. Definitely a hidden gem. read more
