a year ago this spot was one of my local faves!! i feel like now it's been over packed it with overpriced things and there isn't a nice flow to the store anymore. in my opinion, there's more old lady style designer clothing than there are cool retro clothing for people my age. i hope the store goes back to how it was or at least meets in the middle. read more

They profiled my friend and I saying some bs that they need to hold our personal bags behind the counter. I can tell she doesn't practice this script for the "policy" she was describing. She was making it up on the spot stumbling over her words like I'm sure you'll get them back, like, what? You're sure? The store was disorganized and the female staff was unfriendly and didn't want to sell or help us find what we were looking for, no styling help of any kind or building a look nothing. Told us to go to their sister store across the street, was pretending to be busy even though they didn't close for another 2 hours. I feel like this was very unprofessional and not the customer service we're used, most of the time the girls are helpful in building a look but I guess they don't care about that. My friend bought a pair of shoes with no refunds or returns and when we asked about belts she told us to go across the street to their sister store. At that point I was really offput by their "policy" and can't see myself ever coming back in here. I've never been asked to have my personal bag held at the counter while shopping, that sounds like a serious liability and can expose them to litigation. Changed management and now there's a tyrant working behind the jewelry section who treats her employees like crap. Can't say enough about how this lady was acting while I was there, bossing everyone around and speaking rudely. Employees also breathe down your neck and you can't even carry your clothes around the whole store because of their nonsensical rules and new overpriced jewelry section. Bad management, even worse customer service - I felt super uncomfortable and ended up not buying anything. I like supporting local businesses, but not when they're unkind to workers. First time in this shop on a day I had decided to do some vintage shopping in a different part of SoCal. Very great experience from beginning to the end. Lots of great things jam packed in here so I took my time rack to rack - section to section. I was offered cookies and cold brew and I browsed and picked up items to try on. I was a really nice place to have visited. They had everything for 60's style of clothing. Love it. I even took a couple of pictures and texted them to friends who like to dress up like this. Receiving the text messages back from my friends were amazed, and asking me to send them a picture of their business card because they saw items that they had been trying to find for a long time. A lot to look at. Out of all and everything they had, I did buy some Hemp masks (not 60's style). Even the ladies that were working there were dressed up with the same style which made the visit even more pleasant. It was like, working in full character mode. This is a truly fun shop. As the name implies, what they offer is a lot of very interesting retro orientated clothing. But, much more than that, they have all kinds of other interesting items. If you're looking for that 70s style wig, this is your place. If you want those platform shoes, you can buy them here. They really have a lot of ever-changing inventory. Though they do have men's clothing at this business, it seems that they mostly focus on women's apparel. They have a lot of very interesting flapper-era clothing items, as well as a good collection of 70s orientated stuff. Found this place on...where else...yelp, and it was PERFECT. I needed an outfit for the 1920s party (see my yelp review) and Retro Reload was organized, friendly, and had a great selections of items. I already had the dress, just needed headpiece and gloves. They had both, in different colors and options. Everything is organized by decade, so easy to find what you need. They played 50s rock and roll, and the cashier was dressed in vintage clothing and listened attentively as my dad (who came with me) talked her ear off about the 50s and "his generation". I was in the area and drawn by the sidewalk, after Christmas pajama sale - $2/each. When I walked inside, I realized this is a great vintage clothing store, with a few new items littered throughout. Mostly women's clothing and accessories. If you're looking for a costume for that '70's party, go-go boots and all, or a flapper dress for that '20's themed party, this is definitely the place to shop. The store is bright and colorful. The staff are pleasant and friendly. A wide selection. I bought a couple pairs of pajamas and an adorable black dress with a teddy bear in the pocket. Love it. Fun store and great prices! Men's stuff is a bit pricey compared to women's stuff, but the quality is what counts. I was helped by Stephanie who was a doll! Found me stuff for Disneyland's Dapper Day and my dress was $10! The gloves $6-ish and added a hat too, which I think was $9. 40's/ 50's vintage on one side, 60's /70's on another with a whole lot of everything in between, they offer wigs, eyelashes extensions and proper hairstyling. I love Retro Reload!! This is the only store in the South Bay that sells vintage clothes based on each generation. They always help me slay my Freddie Mercury look. It's sad because this store is great it's the customer service that lacks went in recently after moving back to town this used to be a go to place meh not any more ,raven one of the sales chicks there is rude,dismissive and ruins the vibe- do better. Raven was the BEST of them all because she was so helpful from our first initial phone call to all the times I visited the store in search for the perfect 80's outfit. I was completely all over the place trying to decide what to put together and she patiently helped me "dial it in" for the most amazing outfit ever AND no one else had what I was wearing on at the party! The owner Cecilia is a doll but she was really involved with the soft opening of their new vintage store addition and Bella, another manager was helping in both stores. They were never too busy to sweetly chime in from time to time. I was really distraught on what to wear for a 70's themed party so I found Retro Reload through a referral. I had no idea what I was walking into. As soon I walked in I was greeted by all the Staff. I felt so welcomed. Lupe really stood out. Her charisma, her charm, and of course her wardrobe stood out! I walked the store looking through all these wonderful treasures. Lupe was extremely knowledgeable about decades and the fashion that corresponds. I ultimately found a super rad outfit for myself and outfits for my family members. Adorable vintage shop with a great selection of retro plus gently used contemporary clothes (with the cutest pin up shop around the corner as well!). Found a cute versatile floral dress and Jiji (from Kiki's Delivery Service) sweater from the pin up pop up, and a gently used I Heart Ronson blazer plus a belt (to go with aforementioned cute floral dress; not convinced the belt was ever used as it came with an old Nordstrom tag attached), all for very reasonable prices. The pin up also restocks every week, which (unfortunately for my bank account) gives me all that much more reason to keep going back. Definitely stop by if you're looking for some retro/pin up style, or to score a deal on some fashionable gently used clothes! read more

My daughter and I happened to run across this little gem of a shop today because of their streetside sale display. It's a little difficult to park here, BUT once inside, it's a kaleidoscope of colors, designs, and fun and beautiful apparel. We found so many beautiful items and designs! I finally had to tell my daughter ENOUGH - we have to go, but we will be sure to return soon. The sales team was also helpful and considerate, which made our visit even nicer. Recently, moved to Lomita and decided to walk to this store. Every time I pass by, the cutest Tropical Floral dresses have been calling my name. Can I just say the owner did an amazing job with buyer choices and pricing. Everything is affordable, trendy, and super cute! I love everything at this location. Currently, as of August 2017 they have retro bikinis for 50% off and their floral dresses are under $20.00. They also carry the make up line Bellissima and there is a salon within this location - by appointments only. So you can get a full outfit, get an updo and walk outside and utilize their pink wall for a pin up photo shop. All in one stop shop! They carry all clothing, cosmetics, housewares, footwear, apparel, accessories, vintage, trinkets and more! Everything is in great condition! I am a single mother, just trying to make ends meet and had taken this job on as a second income. I have been coming here since I was a little girl always loved the store until I actually worked there! I will never step foot in here again!! I am very disappointed with how unorganized this store is, the girl who was training me, Raven was so rude and stuck up with a bad attitude. I been in retail for 12 years and this is the worst store I ever worked at, I worked here for only two days and got fired by Bella over the phone "not even in person" because of my personality. Supposedly she said that I wasn't enthusiastic or spunky enough to work in the store even though I was very thrilled and excited to work there!! Which didn't make any sense my last day working there I didn't even get a break which is totally illegal. I was there for over five hours with no break. I had texted the store manager Bella and told her if she could send me my check in the mail, never got a reply. I also asked her if I did anything wrong, she said no. It didn't make any sense and I feel like Raven was very unprofessional. Its illegal to not pay someone after 72 hours of firing that person and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to not give somebody a break, especially on a five hour shift. I don't know how they expect to train somebody with only knowing them for two days and basing it off of their personality. I thought this was supposed to be an all excepting store. At least that's what they put out there for their brand. I felt very uncomfortable with the girl who was training me, because of her poor attitude I felt it had something to do with me getting fired because no one else was around to help train me and nobody else was there to really see me work, except maybe the owner. I felt like this was very unfair!! I wasn't even given a fair opportunity to prove myself. I will never be coming back here again!!! Raven definitely gives off bad vibes and negative energy, I wasn't the only one who had felt like this. The other girl who had worked in the store to relieve me on my last day there with the brown hair who is young, told me she has experienced the same thing. She also said that Raven had a nasty attitude towards her as well. The girl said she had only been working there shortly over the summer, but she said she was going to quit. read more

I used to really enjoy shopping here, it was such a fun experience and the employers actually made you feel welcomed. Now you go in and this one specific girl, who other people have already written bad reviews and I can see why, was neglectful and more focused on herself than helping me out. She had a rude demeanor and rolled her eyes everytime I had a question, to the girl with the black and blonde hair, if you're not happy to do your job and simply be nice to your customers why bother working in retail. You need lessons on how to be a better employee. I will not be coming back here and will be letting people know about her lack of style and attitude. Not helpful. After many years of passing this store, I finally went in to take a look. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Amy. She happened to be working the front alone. During the time I was there, she single handily assisted about 6 customers. She was beyond remarkable giving ideas to each of us and continually checked to see how each of us were doing. I was beyond impressed with her customer service and discovered she normally worked the warehouse.
