When we started our renovation project I looked on yelp for a granite installation company. There aren't many with reviews out there, but I did find JC Granite and they had great reviews, so I logged it to memory. When it came time to actually get the counter top installed my husband received a recommendation from friends of ours, but I was starstruck by the solid 5 star rating JC granite had, and I insisted that we needed to get quotes from each (that's never a bad idea anyway). I was not home when Julio came to measure on a Sunday (A day or two after the original time we agreed on...he flaked out). He said he would get the stone warehouse information to my husband. By Wednesday/Thursday I hadn't heard so I called. His rational was that we were not going to go look at stone until Saturday, and he had been very busy so he figured he had some time to spare with getting us that information. I'll give him that, I believe him. After going to the stone-mart I sent him an e-mail on the first of the month with our choices. (We wanted to know the price difference before choosing). He immediately responded asking me to call him, so I did right then. I AGAIN gave him our stone choices. (This wasn't a big deal but I want to emphasize it...). He then called back 10 minutes later asking if we had chosen a stone color. (As in, "Wait...I forgot to see if they had picked a stone color.) I actually thought maybe this was a joke. But I provided him the information again. I e-mailed him on the 3rd asking if he was able to get the pricing. His response: "I need stone color." The stone color I e-mailed and told him over the phone twice within 20 minutes of each other? (Three times total within an hour time span) I responded back on the 3rd that I provided this information three times. I got my quote 3 days later on the 6th. We had already decided that we would go with the friends recommendation. He hadn't been anything but professional, and prompt. ....His quote was lower than Julio's on top of that. Now, I can say nothing on his stone cutting abilities. Only on his interaction with a potential customer. I honestly do believe he was busy. But there is something to be said for just telling the customer you can't handle the business right now. If he could get the stone choices 3 times in one hour and still not think he has it, that's not quite the attention to detail I would hope for/require for my project. read more

Terrible CUSTOMER SERVICE. Despite the positive reviews about Julio's work, I can only DISCOURAGE YELPers from wasting their time with JC Granite. Julio is extremely unprofessional when it comes to scheduling appointments. I attempted to schedule 2-3 appointments with him and each time he totally FLAKED OUT (then he called me the wrong name). You're not the only person who is busy, Julio... and we're the paying customers! MOST service professionals rely on word-of-mouth referrals for new business - apparently JC Granite doesn't care enough to treat customers with a shred of respect. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Julio and his crew helped with a non-traditional stone cutting project. * He was willing to take it on in the first place. * He was flexible enough to come visit me, scope it out, come back and pull the stone out of my kitchen. * And he was patient with my multiple requests for revisions to the project (for which I paid him, of course, but still, I moved the goalposts on him a couple of times). I recommend JC granite wholeheartedly for special projects. I had a large slab of granite I needed cut to a custom size. He picked it up, did great work, and installed it all in a period of a few days for a great price. I'd say: Call JC if... You want good work at a great price Don't call JC if... You are unused to dealing with smaller contractors or if you highly value sleek professional contractors with fancy uniforms and name tags. This is a small family business. You get to talk to the owner / installer on his direct cell phone. But that also naturally means you don't have a big office with a 9-5 customer service person waiting around for your call. read more

We originally contacted Julio to put in granite counter tops in our downtown condo. He quoted us the lowest price by far and he seemed genuine, honest, and trustworthy. He was also the only contractor who was confident that he could construct the large island out of a single piece of granite (Something Home Depot absolutely refused to do). Unfortunately, our building required that all contractors have insurance up to one million dollars (a little excessive if you ask me). Julio tried to increase his insurance so that we could work with him, but was not able to do it in the time frame we needed, so we reluctantly went with someone else. Fast forward a year, my husband and I purchased a house in the burbs and we needed to install granite counter tops in the kitchen. Of course, we called Julio again. We picked out our slabs at a local granite supplier, and Julio had them installed within a week or so. He even had no problem adjusting the plans to add an island last-minute. He also did a great job at matching the seams so they're barely noticeable. Our counter tops look fabulous and we couldn't be happier! I wish all contractors could be as ethical and reliable as Julio. For example, we tried to pay upfront for the entire project, and Julio stated that he felt uncomfortable with that, and his policy was to only take half of the total cost (to use towards supplies) and would accept the other half once he was finished and we were satisfied with his work. Come on, with shows like Holmes on Homes, we all know how rare it is to find an honest contractor who stands by their work nowadays. We will certainly use Julio for any future projects and recommend him wholeheartedly! read more

He recommended a beautiful Platinum blue for the master bath which is a perfect match for the existing ceramic tile floor. The installation was quick and smooth taking about 1 hour. In rehabbing an old condo on the lake with a terrace, I ended up with two giant slabs of granite. I wanted to reuse them in a creative way. I started calling around but couldn't find anybody to do this type of unusual job, which was to take away slabs and cut many pieces for finishing out on the terrace. Lucky for me, I read reviews on here for Julio. He agreed to do it. Came and measured, took slabs away, and just installed today. He did such a great job. On time, so friendly. Our creative project with the granite looks so cool. Even my contractor loves it! We created a low ledge to hide gap between floor and balcony rail - so it wraps all around the terrace, great place to put drinks, plants, .. Also, he framed in, on all sides, an old built in box that used to hold a window ac unit. It's amazing! I would highly recommend Julio, he's a real pro! Not a good experience with Julio. I am a rehabber who has done lots of counters. My normal fabricator Factory Plaza was backed up so I tried Julio. He was more money, he was disorganized in his scheduling and went past his promised installation date. I chose remnants from his filthy shop for some of the counters and he would not give me a price on those until the day I thought he was actually going to install the whole project. He arrived with only 2 of the 4 counters I expected and gave me a price that was double what it should have been on the 2 he was missing. I had to go elsewhere and it cost me another 10 days time. He could have earned 30 jobs a year if he had been good, but I won't use him again. read more

I have a mixed opinion of Julio. I selected a beautiful slab of granite from Marmo Inc that had a lot of black with a white background. I intentional selected this granite so it would pick up the black tile back splash and appliances I had in my kitchen. Unfortunately the granite that was installed appeared to be from two different slabs with very little black in it. I was quite disappointed but I didn't know if Julio picked up the wrong slab or was given the wrong slab from Marmo Inc. I did express my opinion to Julio during the installation. But he made no effort to rectify the situation. So I would be very careful that the slab you choose is actually the one that gets installed. read more

I found Julio Saravia through Yelp, and I couldn't be more pleased with his work and his customer service. While my kitchen project was very small (approx 20sq ft), he was very responsive, very accomodating and was able to find me the perfect stone to compliment my kitchen. He was willing to go to the extra effort of sourcing a smaller size of granite (he has a lot of connections) which saved us both from having to invest in a full sheet. His pricing is VERY good, his craftmanship beautiful and his integrity and work ethic unsurpassed. Julio and his men did a great job with replacing my kitchen and bathroom countertops last November 2016 after I closed on my condo. He is a small business owner, so keep that in mind when you call him for a job. He takes calls on his cell phone and does not have back-office support. He came to my apartment, took measurements, invited me to his shop, showed me leftover pieces from other jobs, and offered me a great price for the granite in my kitchen and the marble in my bathroom. I called JC Granite to see if they might want to help with my kitchen remodel- new granite, sink, etc. It was difficult to hear Julio on the phone and our call was dropped. (I called from my office landline.) However, he agreed to come over to discuss the next evening. I gave him my info. When he was nearly an hour past the agreed upon time, I called ...and he said he left my address at his shop. I was mystified that he wouldn't have called me on his cell since he had my number. Again, the call was dropped on his cell. I cannot imagine trying to run a business without a smart phone, texting, and using the calandar. That is apparently how he does it. Anyway, although I wasted an evening waiting for him (he never showed), it is a probably a good thing that I'm not doing any business with this guy. read more

I highly recommend Julio, and will definitely call him again for my next project. I had been searching for a granite remnant for the top of my wine fridge/bar for a year, and after going to several stores (with the same story about how I would have to buy the entire slab of granite), I went to the Internet. I called several granite fabricators, but Julio was hands down the most responsive. In fact, when I told him what I wanted on the phone, he had the design I wanted and offered to bring a sample to my house the next day.
