If you haven't visited lately, check it out. It most certainly isn't the same space it was a year ago. JB's invested a lot of time, money and effort to update the space. They added a boutique bowling area with couches for parties and now offers food (pizza, nachos, club sandwiches, etc.). At a recent private event at JB's, the management and staff were friendly and helpful and even provided the group with a behind-the-scenes tour. JB's seems more family friendly and casual over the iPic with the price point to match. In addition to the boutique side there is also a traditional bowling alley area, giving you a bit more room to spread out (or lanes to bowl on when leagues are in progress). Like most bowling alleys, it was a bit on the warm side. I've always wondered why bowling alleys don't use the air conditioning all year. After all, those polyester bowling shirts never seem to breathe... Fun fact: The pin setters and ball returns here are all mechanical versus electronic at most bowling alleys. This means fewer issues with the lanes and more time having fun with your friends! read more

Nice bowling lanes in Milwaukee. Clean and easy to get a lane. Friendly staff. The lanes needed maintenance. Seemed to not be a "slick" as we see at others so ball didn't get much spin. Overall good place to enjoy a couple of hours while in Milwaukee. read more

Although bowling was definitely a part of my childhood, most notably hanging out at the bowling alley on occasional Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons when my dad had leagues and tournaments, it's been many years since I've actually entered an alley. In high school I thought myself too cool for bowling with it's funny shoes and balding pot-bellied men. I once visited a bowling alley in China, amazed by it's highly polished, upscale clientele and ridiculous cleanliness. It clashed with my idea of the working class locale for conversation, community and beer. Recently my husband's cousin took up bowling and we've joined him a few times at nearby Olympic Lanes. The place seems to have morphed with the changing demographics of the neighborhood, becoming more black and brown than white and bustling with activity. I was surprised how busy they are on weekend nights, remembering my few times bowling in high school feeling a bit lonely. Overall, the place seems renewed with it's new clientele, a place for good, clean fun, community and friends. The beer and bar food aren't bad either. read more

JB's on 41 is not the best or most unique bowling alley I've ever been to, but it gets the job done. I went to JB's for a private party, which they catered to nicely. We had our own lanes blocked off from the public and we had our own private bar, I could not have been more pleased with the set up. The pizza and sandwiches we were served were of surprisingly high quality. I'm not saying it was a 5-star meal, but definitely better than I expected from a bowling alley. The bartenders were extremely friendly and, while I mostly had beer, the few mixed drinks I had were made just right. The only thing that really bothered me about this place was the computers tracking the scores were completely faulty. They were complicated to use and at least half the time they recorded the wrong score. Through a gutterball, it records 5 pins down, through a strike, it records a strike for you and the person after you...you get the picture. read more

I'm new to the Milwaukee area and I ordered some food from them after seeing it on doordash. I had no idea it was a bowling alley when I ordered, and it honestly wouldn't have affected my decision anyway. The pictures on the menu were beautiful. Unfortunately, the food was not at all like the pictures. I had cheese curds and a pulled pork sandwich. The cheese curds were grease soaked and had a rubbery texture, and the pork tasted like chemicals. I can't speak for the bowling or the games, but i would not come back for the food. I may try bowling here in the future, but I would avoid anything from the kitchen. read more

We had a company party here a few weeks back. First time I was there, great place! Environment was fresh and clean. Nice layout and plenty of room when bowling. Made the drive from Bay View and we were not disappointed. If you have kids, this place is a no brainer. $2 Tuesday's, shoe rentals, games and domestic beers. Everything is clean and updated. They even have an arcade and restaurant. The clientele as well is very friendly and working class. I'd take this place over Bay View bowl any day of the week. read more

Here's the scoop. If you have young kids and want to take them bowling, avoid this place. My family of 20+ people went there on Saturday night. We had children aged 6-12. The people gave us the last two alleys in the section away from the bar. There were 8 other families in this smaller section and it was great. Then the music (which was way too loud anyway) started playing something with *igger, *utha *fucka and *itch as almost the entire lyrics. Two of the fathers in our group went to the counter and asked that they try to keep that kind of music off the sound system. None of the people that work there seemed to know how to do anything about that...but finally the "song" (I use the word loosely) ended. About 5 minutes later a similar song with just as bad language came on again and again the fathers went to the counter and were again greeted with the old "deer in the head lights look". On the FIFTH time this junk came out of the speakers, we all went up and I asked to see the manager. This kid comes out and asked, "What seems to be the problem?" I said that the "...music has very bad language coming out and we have young kids back there and would appreciate it if you could turn that music off or better yet, not play it at all." He said, "What are your talking about?" I said, "The music has words like, '*igger, *utha *fucka and *itch' coming out and we don't want the kids listening to that, but we would like to bowl!" He said, "Sir, you can't say that kind of language here and you have to quit!" I said, "DUDE, I am just telling you what YOUR music system is vomiting out on top of my grand kids ears, please stop playing that kind of music in the section where the small children are bowling or we will have to leave. This is the Fifth time we have asked you to stop with the raunchy music that plays words like '*igger, *utha *fucka and *itch'" He then said, "That's it! You and all of you others are BANNED from this Bowling Alley. You'll have to leave. I am refunding your money, but YOU have to leave NOW!" We got our money back and left. I feel that parents with young kids should avoid this bowling alley. Anyone else that doesn't mind '*igger, *utha *fucka and *itch' blaring out of the sound system should definitely patronize this establishment...you will fit right in. I thought that this would be a nice Family Night destination, but I was very wrong. They play many ADULT themed songs. read more

Came in at 8pm on a Monday night. Hung out at the bar and waited for our group of 10 to show up. The bartender knew we were there to bowl and never bothered to tell us bowling was closed. Hours posted online were 12pm-10:30pm. Went to talk to the manager and she was unsympathetic, said it was at the manager's discretion if they close early. Bartender was inattentive, too busy focusing on what appeared to be her friends at the other end. Ordered a pizza, which, coincidentally was amazing, but had to ask for napkins and plates after sitting there waiting for a few minutes, and then she barely came back until our group started to trickle out. I was the last one there and she finally came down to my end and I had to ask her to cash my card out. Worst first time experience, will not be back for open bowling. read more

This establishment was horrendous. I absolutely hated it. The staff there were so rude and didn't even try to let us explain. They put a ball back up just to stop our game. We had a work party here and it was perfect. Cheryl and Sarah helped set everything up, and they were really friendly, laid-back, and full of good ideas. The bowling alley is huge...there must be like 40 lanes or more. There's also an arcade and large bar that is somewhat separate from the bowling area, which includes multiple pool tables. They also have 5 volleyball courts outside. Everything was really cheap...we were able to provide bowling, booze, and more than enough pizza to about 30 people for under $800. read more

We took our family to JB's for the first time on a Friday evening, and it was great. Probably the nicest bowling alley I've ever been to. I only bowl occasionally, but it was clean, the seats were comfortable, the shoes looked new, and it was just nice overall. Best of all, the service at the bar was great. We had to wait for a lane so I ordered some food and we played a game of pool in the bar, and even though our lane was ready before the food, the guy brought it to me from the bar. They also have a small game room. The place was packed but it was still fine for families, even on a Friday night. I am so used to bowling alleys being dirty, slightly sketchy places, and I was very impressed with JB's. My only suggestion for JB's would be to have a smoking area outside that's not right in front of the door, because it was not pleasant walking through that on the way out. read more

We went to a Yelp event here in December of '12.. The place had recently been renovated, and was by far the nicest bowling alley I've ever seen! The Manager and staff were really friendly, professional and accommodating. Private bowling room in the back was great with ginormous screens and an additional bar. Great BBQ wings! I had a dual birthday party and it was a good experience overall. There were 2 other parties happening at the same time as ours and mine had 17 children alone. The attendant was very busy and was sometimes not available to help. I paid for 3 lanes and the bowling and had to pay for refills of pitchers of soda and the pizza was gone fairly quickly. Each child had one or two pieces. For the price that I paid ( over $400) I feel like there could have been more included. The attendant was very nice and the customer service was good, except for in the arcade area. No one really explained the arcade cards and the fact that there is "tickets" and "credits". Just a few things that left a sour taste in my mouth. The atmosphere was fun and the children at the party had a good time- but I would think again about having a party there again. read more

We came here for my son's 5th birthday party. We reserved two lanes on the Suite 41 side, and it was great! We had a fantastic time. Everyone we encountered was super helpful and had great attitudes. And we even got bowling pins for the kids to take home as a party favor. Everyone had fun in the arcade after bowling was done. Not impressed at all. We paid $200.00 for the YOLO package, we were promised music, sure there is music if you pump money into the Jupe Box. The pizza was no better then a frozen pizza, Artie the bartender was too busy stuffing his face to get drinks for us, the VIP section is a joke, nothing special. We had our grandson's 10th birthday there and it was an awesome experience!!! The people there worked with us very well to plan our event, and our party hostess Teresa, was so enthusiastic and so great with the kids! All of the kids had a wonderful time, the neon bowling pins were a big hit! Then with our choice of three single topping pizzas and three pictures of soda, the kids ate very well when the bowling was over. After that they spent the rest of the time in the game arcades, where their parents pick them up to go home at the end of the party. Couldn't be an easier more fun experience! read more
